  • Key Specs
    • Image Sensor Size: APS-C (22.2 x 14.8 mm)
    • Effective Pixels: 24.1 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
    • Standardized Video Resolution: 4K (2160p) (An approximated measurement of the product’s video resolution. This may not be the exact resolution of the product, which may be slightly more or less when using a pixel-by-pixel measurement.)
  • General
    • Brand: Canon
    • Model Number: 2680C067
    • Product Name: EOS M50 Mirrorless Camera with EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM Zoom Lens Video Creator Kit
    • Color: Black
    • Product Set: Video Creator Kit
    • Camera Model Family: Canon M50
    • Digital Camera Type: Mirrorless Camera with Lens
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: CMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)
    • Image Sensor Size: APS-C (22.2 x 14.8 mm)
    • Image Resolution (Display): 6000 x 4000 (Refers to the number of pixels, both horizontally and vertically, used to either capture an image or display it. The higher the resolution the finer the image details.)
    • Zoom Capability: true (This function allows for magnification of the subject.)
    • Digital Zoom: None (A digital zoom is accomplished electronically, with no adjustment of the camera's optics, and no optical resolution gained in the process. The existing data is not enhanced or added to, merely displayed at a lower resolution, thereby giving an illusion of an enlarged image.)
    • Low Light/High Sensitivity: true (High sensitivity digital imaging devices are designed to work in low light conditions to produce a high dynamic range image.)
    • Image File Format(s): JPEG, RAW (Standardized software format(s) of storing digital images. The type of format chosen for capturing and compressing the image can determine quality, level of detail, and storage space required.)
  • Focus
    • Autofocus: true (Allows the camera to automatically focus through the lens, rather than by adjusting the lens manually.)
    • Eye Autofocus (Eye AF): false (Automatically seeks out and focuses on the subject's eye and holds it as the camera and subject move and as the photographer shoots at high frame rates.)
  • Exposure Control
    • Shutter Speeds: 1/4000 - 30 sec. (The length of time the shutter remains open when the shutter release is activated, expressed in fractions of seconds. The longer the shutter is open, the more light that is able to be captured by the camera sensor.)
    • Minimum Aperture: f/40 (The smallest opening of a lens, typically expressed in f-numbers. The larger the number, the smaller the aperture and the less light that can enter the lens. A smaller aperture creates a larger depth of field, which keeps both foreground and background in focus.)
    • Maximum Aperture: f/3.5 (The limit to how wide a lens can be open, typically expressed in f-numbers. The smaller the number, the larger the aperture and the more light that can enter the lens. A larger aperture creates a shallower depth of field, helpful for keeping subjects in focus and blurring background details.)
    • Minimum ISO: 100 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. When there is plenty of light, using the lowest ISO setting available will typically result in a higher quality image.)
    • Maximum ISO: 25600 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. In low-light environments, using a higher ISO setting helps to capture a sharp, bright image.)
    • Brightness Control: true (Allows the camera to adjust the brightness of a captured image for optimal exposure.)
    • Self Timer: true
    • White Balance Modes: Auto; Daylight; Shade; Cloudy; Tungsten light; White fluorescent light; Flash; Color temperature; Custom WB (Settings that calibrates how the color white is rendered in an image/video, reducing the appearance of unnatural contrasts caused by various light sources.)
    • Effective Pixels: 24.1 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • Lens
    • Lens Mount Compatibility: Canon EF, Canon EF-M, Canon EF-S
    • Lens Type: Standard Zoom
    • Minimum Focal Length: 15 millimeters (The minimum distance between the lens and the image sensor that allows the subject to be in focus. The shorter the focal length, the greater the area of scene captured.)
    • Maximum Focal Length: 45 millimeters (The maximum distance between the lens and the image sensor that allows the subject to be in focus. The greater the focal length, the smaller the area of scene captured.)
    • Lens Series: Canon EF-M (The product group that the lens belongs to, based on similar shared features.)
    • Lens Model Number: 0572C002
  • Flash
    • Integrated Flash: true
  • Display
    • Display Type: LCD
    • Screen Size: 3 inches (Size of the screen, measured diagonally from corner to corner.)
    • Screen Resolution: approx. 1.04 million dots (Screens come in a range of resolutions (measured in pixels, horizontal x vertical). The higher the resolution, the greater the picture quality.)
    • Viewfinder Type: Electronic (A viewfinder is the part of a camera (or attachment) that allows you to see and focus a scene in frame. Optical viewfinders let you view the scene directly through the lens. Electronic viewfinders display the image on a screen in its approximate final form.)
    • Touch Screen: true (Touch-screen devices make navigating more intuitive. Using a touch-screen display, you can do things such as tap to select, hold and drag to move items, swipe to scroll, and pinch to zoom.)
    • Varying Angle Screen: true (The camera's screen can be flipped out and adjusted to rotate, tilt, and/or swivel.)
  • Video
    • Standardized Video Resolution: 4K (2160p) (An approximated measurement of the product’s video resolution. This may not be the exact resolution of the product, which may be slightly more or less when using a pixel-by-pixel measurement.)

Q: Can it record for a long time and if not how much and is the mic a rode? Thank you

A: The rode mic is garbage. The head of rode admitted that it is effected by WiFi and electrical signals resulting in static and a constant clicking sound. So the mic of garbage and unusable. You will kick yourself for buying this. Camera is great though. Go for the camera but don’t think you’re gonna use the rode mic. Their response was Buy the video micro. Nice advice rode. Fix it Best Buy. Shame on Best Buy.

Q: Does the camera film in 4k?

A: Yes, the camera can film in 4K.

Q: Does this video? If it does, when it goes to a smartphone or computer, is it possible to take the videos and upload them to YouTube? I am a YouTuber and looking for a new video camera with a microphone.

A: In the name it says “video creator kit” so I would assume you can film video. As long as you have an editing program such as imovie, davinci resolve, sony vegas, etc, you can import the video and edit it.

Q: I am an upcoming YouTuber, And I would like a camera with a mic. One of the reviews was about the mic not being good. If you do use this camera 1-10 can you guys rate this month?

A: I got this camera for vlogging and youtube as well. I'd say the mic good enough to use and to start with. The quality of the mic is good IF you're gonna be close to the camera talking in the camera's direction (about a few feet away). Although sometimes when plugging in the mic and recording I hear a weird beeping noise in the background which may ruin the quality of your video. When there's no beeping sound, I'd rate the mic quality 8/10.

Q: Does this camera has CLEAN HDMI for vlogging/ broadcasting?

A: Not technically. The HDMI out on this camera send the entire LCD screen feed to the HDMI out. There are softwares available that you can download on your computer to remove that sort of thing though and essentially give you a clean feed. There are several YouTube videos explaining the process
