I’ve been getting by with the ‘top shelf’ point and shoot cameras since finally(almost permanently) stepping away from my beloved 35mm. I’ve taken some wonderful pictures with those cameras and will always keep one for the sheer convenience. It has to be said though, that these cameras will always be limited by their lenses or rather their lack of options. That was my main reason for stepping back into the SLR realm. I chose the SL3 because it looked to be a good step as a DSLR while maintaining many of the features I’ve become comfortable with in the point and shoots. I had a done a lot of research on it predecessor the SL2 and went to look at it and was told that the SL3 had just been released so I snatched one up. It’s very easy to use and will actually tutor you as you use it. Gives helpful suggestions but you can turn those off if you’d rather not. Has a good Auto focus and in the full automatic setting it is consistent. I would recommend not buying the kit with the 18/55 mm lens. Buy the body and go an extra few hundred bucks for a better lens. The kit lens feels cheap but does an adequate job. It’s very plastic. All in all, it’s a good buy and easy, step into DSLRs. Priced under 600.00, it’s hard to beat and Canon packed all of its ‘latest and greatest’ features into it.

I love this camera so much. It was recommended to me by a friend who thought it was a safe bet for a beginner looking to learn photography, and I attest to that 100%. It’s simple to use, yet loaded with the newer features. It has a lot to offer for such a small package. Downside (which has nothing to do with the product itself) is that I caught on to the camera and using it REALLY quickly, and I wish I would’ve done a little more research because I would’ve went full frame instead of APS-C from the start.

This camera was my first big camera purchase. I have been nothing but pleased from quality to ease of use. It has a lot of functions so I can grow to it. The basic beginer can use this camera and easily adapt to the other available features. Way to go Cannon!!! Love this camera!!

I've reviewed this camera before and I'll say again, it's a good buy. But I'm using this opportunity to speak of the bad service I received from Geek Squad, which caused me to have to buy this camera for the SECOND time. All because the Geek Squad would not return my camera like I asked them too. As far as the camera is concerned, I enjoy it very much. I do not consider myself a professional photographer (yet). So this camera does a good job of assisting me when it comes to understanding the functions. The built in wifi is a MAJOR plus for shooting photos and uploading to my IG page. The included photos are pics I've taken with the camera.

This camera has everything I need. I'm still learning to use all the menus and adjustments, but I think it will be perfect for my needs. I'm impressed by the many options built into the Canon Rebel SL3. It's a little confusing figuring out what settings to use, but there's always Automatic. To start with, I'm using it mostly for video. I'll add a sunflower pic I took with it to see how sharp it is.

So far I'm loving the camera! It's only a model newer than my previous which makes for a great transition.

This tiny DSLR is just a little chunkier than a small mirrorless camera and gives some unique alternatives. You can shoot it as a DSLR with a nice, clear optical viewfinder with 9 focusing points or you can shoot it as a "mirrorless" camera using the back screen which gives you many more focus point, eye AF and Canon's legendary Dual Pixel Auto Focus that smoothly acquires focus without hunting back and forth. For video people, you can clean HDMI output to an external recorder and get 4:2:2 10 bit at 4k! The new Canon 90D doesn't have this feature according to the specs. The battery life is unbelievably good and will outlast ANY mirrorless camera by far. THE BAD: 4K looks great but is not very flexible in as much as you have only 23.98P and no DPAF! Rolling shutter is pretty bad in 4K. Also, 4K has an additional crop so you'll really need a wide lens for it to be useable. This camera has two levels of electronic image stabilization which works with Canon's optically stabilized lens but crops your video further still! The sensor is really clean and almost free of noise at 6400 ISO and is very useable up to 12,800 with level one high ISO noise reduction turned on. I didn't see any improvement from 1,2, or 3 in terms of in-camera NR. The SL3 has a setting that makes the camera take 4 photos every time you press the shutter which it samples and then produces a single noise-free The creative filters are actually really handy and in some cases can provide a more interesting photo than even the most experienced photographer could take. It has focus-peaking for manual focus or focus-pulling and the autofocus on the back screen does an incredible job following faces or whatever your subject is, keeping them in focus.

A Great Entry Point for Aspiring Photographers The Canon EOS Rebel SL3 is an excellent choice for those looking to step up their photography game. This DSLR camera offers a perfect blend of quality, ease of use, and affordability. Here's what I liked about it: Image Quality: The 24.2MP APS-C sensor delivers crisp and vibrant images, even in low light conditions. 4K Video: The camera's 4K video capabilities are impressive, making it ideal for capturing stunning footage. Dual Pixel Autofocus: Fast and accurate autofocus ensures you never miss a moment. Vari-Angle Touchscreen LCD: The 3-inch touchscreen LCD is convenient for shooting from different angles and navigating menus. EF-S 18-55mm IS STM Lens: The included lens provides a great starting point for exploring various focal lengths. The Canon EOS Rebel SL3 is an excellent choice for beginners and hobbyists. Its ease of use, impressive image quality, and 4K video capabilities make it a great value for the price. 5/5 for the value

Great camera for first time SLR users. We use this on the field because it is small and light. It is equipped with 4K recording capabilities and has a 24.1 Megapixel that looks amazing. The menu and features are easy to navigate. Easy to use and great price for what you are getting.

So far so good. Wanted a slightly better than a basic DLSR for beginner photography. This has suited what I was looking for. Bought this originally for a Alaska cruise trip. Was able to get some pretty good shots. The lens that comes with it is decent for general multipurpose shots. Bought a telephoto zoom lens and a wide angle lens to go with it. Was able to get good shots of wildlife on shore from a boat and used the wide angle lens for Astrophotography. Would recommend as a good beginner DSLR. If you really want to get good shots research what settings, lenses etc you need for what you're trying to do to get the most out of this camera and play around with it extensively for practice before trying to use it for a specific occasion so you won't get discouraged.

I have 2 canon cameras in my house and this is my new upgrade to my Canon Camera. This Camera is easy to set up manually if you are learning how to take a picture manually this is an easy way because you have a picture of how to set up. The Video is also the plus I like the 4k video. The Price is okay if you are willing to pay over the amount mark online. Only you need is the SD card 125 Gb and you ganna be okay taking pictures and video. If you have an old ef lens canon it works to, no need a connector.

Purchased this as a gift for the wife. Needless to say that she loved it! It does come with a set of lens and it takes amazing quality images. The only downfall is that the lens holder is not tethered onto the case, so you have to constantly place it in your pocket or hold it which is a bit... inconvenient whenever you are traveling or moving often with it. But maybe it works for other situations. The wife claims is super easy to use and feels of quality (as far the materials and images go)

Wonderful camera that's easy to use and very compact. For the price point, it's hard to beat. We've been very happy so far

This camera is quite the bang for your buck. You get a ton of features you can get with the Rebel 6i or 7i, but you get even more out of the Rebel SL3. For a bit more money you get a sleak camera with the newest processor by Cannon, 4K video recording, and the photo quality is phenomenal.

Just getting into photography to promote my brand creeperslv.com and this camera is great for people starting out! Very easy to use I got a hang of using manual within a couple weeks. 4K video on it is great quality but it zooms in a lot so indoor settings wouldn’t be ideal to use it.

Great beginner camera! The image quality is nice and the camera is very user friendly. You can transfer the photos onto any device via Bluetooth or Wifi, and it comes with great editing features.
