I wrote a really long review but Bestbuy said it had inappropriate language so I condensed for brevity Solid camera. Packed full of features found in higher end full framed cameras in a compact package Shoots great photos. Great dynamic range. Easy to use navigation and screen. Good build and good battery life. Great lens with awesome focal lengths and apertures. Definitely worth the almost 1000 bucks for a camera because it has so much features and quality. Dont be hesitant because of the cost. It is very competitively priced for what its got.

I wanted a small camera to through in a pocket and take with me everywhere, even hiking. This little body is just packed with features and ability to control as much as you want. The lens renders beautifully. I've used the viewfinder a lot more than I thought I would. The touch screen for focusing, reviewing photos and menus is a breeze to use. I shoot mostly stills but will use video in the future. My experience with it has been fantastic!

Purchased this point & shoot to supplement my Canon DSLR cameras. Very compact (fits in my jacket pocket) and produces excellent results. Features and controls provide the same settings as a full size DSLR or just shoot in AUTO mode. Pop up view finder and excellent low light capability make this camera a joy to use.

This camera replaced my much older PowerShot A640. It is great to have a high pixel LCD screen and larger viewfinder. I can now see things clearly with reading classes - even with the viewfinder. The camera is very user friendly and I was able to navigate the menu system fairly easily. Still need to learn more of the technical areas but this is why I bought the camera. I can now enjoy being more creative taking pictures and manipulating RAW files. The tracking system for auto focus is great. This is useful for nature pictures where things then to move. I did not quite like the ability to take a picture by touching the LCD screen. I can see how this could be useful to some people but I was taking too many pictures by mistake so I turned this option off. The camera is also VERY fast and quiet and having the larger 20 megapixel files is great. Also love the rubberized surface and grips on the front and back. Makes it easy to control the camera. One minor complaint - the battery indicator does not power usage status very well in my opinion. In one instance, I thought I had a good amount of power left then the indicator started flashing that I was about to run out of juice soon. I plan on getting a back-up battery just in case. Overall a great camera!!

So far very pleased with this little camera. Even though I had already downgraded from DSLR to mirrorless, I still wanted something even smaller that would still take great photos and offer some creative flexibility. Love how wide the maximum aperture is for such a small camera, while still having a decent zoom capability.

I'm no serious shutterbug, but I did want something markedly better than my phone's camera for not too much money. And I'll be hotdogged if this camera didn't fit into those criteria perfectly. I am constantly amazed by the clarity and detail of its images even in simple point and click mode, and all of its in-camera editing tools are very useful for some of what we do with it. I suppose I can imagine a camera that takes better images maybe, but at this price and quality and for the light use I put this camera through, it is perfect.

Love the portability of this camera. Fits in my pocket while hiking (took it to the Rockies). Takes very nice pictures for a small point and shoot.

This camera is small and lightweight and travels well! Point and shot so extra lenses are not necessary!

I love Canon products. I've owned some 12-15 Canon cameras in the last 5-6 years. I was very excited when Canon announced the G5 X Mark ll. Way too many positive features and specs. Right off, I'll share that I have only the experience of some 100 shots with it. I bought one from Amazon and another from Best Buy. We used just the Amazon one and will keep that one but I will not keep both. So my review (in fairness) is limited in scope and I am not advising pro or con for the camera but only sharing my initial experiences. Let's start with opening the flimsy box for a $900 camera. Really Canon? Presentation is everything. Inside, you'll find a battery, charger and a wrist strap. Plus manual and warranty card. The camera body has two (each side) loop or strap connections but instead of using a thin Canon strap that supports the camera on both sides, Canon issues a wrist strap instead... The body is solid. Well-built. Few plastics (mostly metal). The camera is an evident POINT & SHOOT first and don't expect a quality grip in design. It is small in body size. Two hands required. My real complaint comes from Canon's pop-up EVF. That sits off to the LEFT side of the camera. Meaning that your left eye is closest to the EVF. Most of us will use our right eye when using the EVF. It's a two-step process in that you will need to push the release button to have the EVF pop-up and then you will need to pull out a viewfinder... The EVF should have been right in the middle of the camera body. This is Canon's first Point & Shoot to incorporate Canon's new DIGIC 8 processor. This is the cameras highlight! The camera produces images quickly and without any sort of lag, no matter how hard you push it. Use a high-end SD card as well to marry that processor to the speed of a quality SD card. The optical zoom is a 5X. Fair enough. Photo quality was decent but never amazing. Certainly not SLR like. In the end, for $900.00 plus tax, it isn't a keeper. I'd prefer (for about the same price), Canon's SL3 SLR. Other than size and the Digic 8 processor, the camera is not a stand-out.

I try to read some reviews be fore I bought this camera. It's really great and easy to use. You have a lot of settings, but easy to understand. It's a small camera, but if you not a professional photographer will really satisfy your carve for great pictures and videos. Clear pictures and great quality videos.

Great pocket camera. It has so much in it's small package. I have two Canon DSLR cameras and my pocket camera finally wore out. This one is great to have when you just can't take the larger camera with you. Love it!

Came into the store set on buying a different more expensive brand. After listening about this and learning it’s features and capabilities my mind was made up. Great Camera. Has lots of features. Every picture comes out like portrait mode.

Love the EVF on this camera. Very well made. Nice size. Don’t always want to carry around a full size DSLR.

This is my travel companion as other cameras are big. Takes nice pictures and videos. Wish it had a bigger zoom. It comes with 5X zoom only.

Amazing for a point-and-shoot camera but the video is not great. If you want something that is good for both photo and video, I'd go with the G7x. If you are more focused on just your photos, go with this one.
