this is a great lens with very nice bokeh' the rf line if lenses is no joke. i own tne rf 85mm 1.2f rf 70-200mm 2.8 15-35mm and the rf 24to70 . now dont get me wronf the ef line L glass is still very nice glass. BUT....this is a huge but the ef 50mm 1.2f the focus is not as sharp and the af on the rf line will not hunt or search for the eye especially with the R6 body. i also have the R as my backup. now yes you could get the rf 28-70 at f/2 an dont get me wrong i love that lens but.....i sold it heres why. biggest thing the weight and footprint size takes in a bag so i went with my primes an you will never look back. so lets go.over the pros and cons. pros 1.) footprint size nice and light in weight. 2.) nice sharp image every time you capture your subject. 3.) nice soft bokeh' but not to much to where looks fake as a filter 4.) nice smooth focus ring 5 ) a great portrait lens cons 1.) wait for it um.....yeah i dont think there is any you wont be disappointed at all

Instantly became my favorite lens. I’m primarily a wedding photographer and have all the other standard wedding RF lenses. Also have the RF 50mm 1.8. This has minuscule if any CA whereas I get a lot on the 1.8. The photos are sharper than any lens I own and the backgrounds are so dreamy. If shooting outdoors daytime wide open I recommend a good 3 stop ND filter to go along with it. Don’t skimp on the filter or you’ll lose clarity. This is my favorite lens of all time. 100% worth it.

At begining i wasn’t sure this lens worth the money. But after i put it on my R5. This thing blow me away! Pictures shotted by this lens have Incrdible sharp and bokeh. Looking at the pictures shotted by this lens, even people, who hav3 no ideas about lens, can easily tell the lens i used must be something amazing! This lens worth every single penny!

As a chronic 50 user I have nothing but good things to say. I finally upgraded from my rebel t6 to a r6 mark ii so it was finally time to upgrade my ef 50mm. If you’re okay with a fixed lens then get this power house of a lens.

50mm is one of my favorite focal length, I love the RF version the focusing speed is way faster compared to the original EF version. Super sharp even at wide open.

I was checking out reviews in youtube for this lens and decided to move forward because you know... it was a little bit of improvement over the RF 50mm 1.8. But oh man... it's just a completely different beast. It's just a HUGE difference. It feels like I have never taken a photo until I got this lens. It's just a masterpiece, and if its important to you to impress people with your images, then its a must.

Ive been a 50mm shooter for decades. In all of my film cameras, thats what sits on there. Zooms are great, but i thonk my eye is just used to it. This 50mm is the most amazing lens i have ever used. Seriously. The price is for you to decide, but man can this thing do amazing work. Its going to take a serious situation to get it off oc my camera…

If you want the best color and detailed images then this is the lens for you! I absolutely love it. I’ve captured weddings, family, and professional headshot photos with this lens and all have come out spectacular! I use it on my mirrorless EOS R5 camera

It definitely beats my EF 1.8 50mm. The images come out so sharp and the IS is amazing I can get down to 1/60 and the images still come out without blur. Worth every penny

Amazing lens. this is the perfect prime lens. The 1.2f is a killer in low light and does a beautiful job of separating the subject. Also the sharpness is unreal.

For someone like me, who doesnt use an 85mm as often, it made sense to buy this one instead of the 1.2. When i do use the 85mm, all images are sharp and beautiful. Im also very impressed at the macro capabilities.

I will admit, I love this lens, I mainly photograph portraits and, for that, this lens excels.
