About This Item

Largely recognized as their breakthrough album, Khanate was confidentenough by the two-song, forty-minute Capture & (2005) to peel back it'slayers of thick mossy droneand reveal the minimalist underpinnings, a changeeither interpreted as maturity or an implied threat. InchIt's a grim, avant-gardeexercise in tension and paranoia. Dense, leaden drones fill up the spaces betweenO'Malley's sparse, deeply sustained guitar chords.Vocalist Alan Dubin's anguished vocals seem to convey the tortures of thedamned as if there were not a shred of hope left for existence in this world.Capture & is not dissimilar to black metal in how it so violently conveyssuch a bleak and ultra-nihilistic world outlook. But while the standard tempoon a black metal album typically strays into the triple digits in terms of beats perminute, Khanate's plodding pace keeps the BPM soundly within the singledigit range.Inch (Tiny Mix Tapes). Album Tracks 1. Capture 2.

Iggy Pop - The Idiot - VINYL LP
    5.0(4)

Limited 120gm vinyl LP pressing. The Idiot is the debut solo album by Iggy Pop. It was the first of two LPs released in 1977 which Pop wrote and recorded in collaboration with David Bowie. Drawing on the electronic sounds of German groups such as Kraftwerk, The Idiot is a departure from the hard rock of Pop's former band the Stooges, and has been compared to Bowie's contemporaneous Berlin Trilogy of albums in it's treated instrument sounds and introspective atmosphere. Sessions for the album were begun prior to the recording of Bowie's Low (1977), and The Idiot has thus been called the unofficial beginning of Bowie's Berlin period. The album is regarded by critics as one of Pop's best works. It's title was inspired by Dostoyevsky's novel The Idiot, three of the participants in the recording-Bowie, Pop and Tony Visconti-being familiar with the book. The album has been characterized as a major influence on subsequent post-punk, industrial, and gothic artists. Album Tracks 1. Sister Midnight 2. Nightclubbing 3. Funtime 4. Baby 5. China Girl 1. Dum Dum Boys 2. Tiny Girls 3. Mass Production

Deftones - Around the Fur - VINYL LP
    4.6(12)

Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression. This LP version comes pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Album Tracks 1. My Own Summer (Shove It) 2. Lhabia 3. Mascara 4. Around the Fur 5. Rickets 6. Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) 7. Lotion 8. Dai the Flu 9. Headup 10. MX
