    Great Movies

Love the Casper series movies. Of course the first one is the best. Like the steel book as well. But the only down side is the back has all kinds of scratches on it (see the last 2 pictures).

    Classic fun movie

This is such a wonderful movie. It really makes you feel good and is a staple around Halloween. The SteelBook looks absolutely fantastic!

A Halloween Staple at a great price

Casper was supposed to be the next big thing when it came out, and while it made a bit of a ripple, it became fairly obvious fairly quickly that it was NOT going to be the next big thing. Most of the issues stem from the plot, of a ghost psychiatrist who helps those with unfinished business cross over (but in reality is desperately searching for his departed wife--not giving any consideration to the idea that IF she was to haunt from beyond the grave she'd do it at home) getting roped into exorcising a trio of troublesome spooks from a house that reportedly hides buried treasure within it's walls. The treasure refers to the life restoration machine that an inventor hoped to use on his son, Casper, another dead inhabitant of the house. (At least we get his backstory though. The Uncle's deaths are never explained.) Cathy Moriarty and Eric Idol are funny as a pair of bickering... well I'm not sure what their relationship is exactly, whose back and forth is funny, but mean-spirited and age-inappropriate for the target audience. In fact, a LOT of the humor is aimed higher than the target audience, evidenced by the superb cameos. And don't get me started on the weird, slightly creepy crush Casper develops for Christina Ricci. He's like what, EIGHT? It's one part Ghostbusters, one part the Haunting, one part the Addams Family, one part Hocus Pocus, with a dash of Back to the Future and Always thrown in for good measure. In the end, all that adds up to just a little bit too much going, which is a shame, because it strives to be a relatively cute, relatively funny, relatively inoffensive family movie. I was looking for a few "kid-friendly" horror movies to introduce the Granddaughter to and hit upon Casper. only $5, had both the Blu-Ray AND Digital copies. Done Deal.

The Lentcular Cover is worth the price

Bought for the cover since the steel book was all sold out in stores. it's just a cool image. The movie is great I don't remember if I ever saw it with out TV edits. Fun movie to watch, the viewing isn't a blu ray but it does make me think how better the CGI Ghost look on bluray(this wont let me write the characters names because it's inappropriate). a great choice for collector's and movie fans to have in their library. The old cartoons are a plus. I havent watch the second disc yet. This movie is for everyone young or old. Pick it up!
