Great product, it works as expected, nice optical quality, you can see the sun perfectly, I would say that this is better than a telescope because you can see it with both eyes, and also much easier to carry.

I'm sure these are terrific to have on hand FOR A SOLAR ECLIPSE. They are not regular binoculars. One use only: during an eclipse. Soooooo the next total solar eclipse that can be seen from the contiguous United States will be on Aug. 23, 2044. Yay I'll hold onto these $70 gems so my grandchildren can see the corona. Cool I guess. Kinda like toaster tongs. A one trick wonder. Wish someone would have said something. I didn't think binocs would be made for a once-in-a-century event???

These are nice 10x solar binoculars for eclipse only. Cannot be used for other celestial or terrestial viewing because of the heavy dark internal filters. You see the full sun through white filters. The strap is thin and will cut into the neck, so you will need to buy a wider neck strap or harness. I did see a small sunspot several weeks ago. After the eclipse, there may not be much use, however, if you own a telescope with a solar filter, these might be nice to spot check the sun for solar activity before you set up your scope. There is also another total eclipse coming through the South and Midewest in 2024, and these can be used again. Be nice if Celestron made the binocs orange to differentiate between non-solar binocs for safety purposes. Never look directly at the sun without proper solar glasses or filter.

These are a great white light option for solar viewing. It’s difficult to make out much prominence detail but it is possible with patience and a steady hand. Great value for the price, best used with a rest or pole. Serious solar observers should opt for the next larger version.

Worked really well for seeing the ring of fire eclipse. It also works well for seeing sunspots, which is really cool. It does take about a minute to find the sun though.

Perfect product to view planet Sun and dark spot of sun, only draw back is you can view only Sun not for any other use.

I purchased this binocular for the eclipse, since I lived in Oregon. It was a terrific way to view the eclipse. Passed it around people during the eclipse and everyone was surprised how well they could see the sun. Because of the 10x42 magnification, you can see the larger sun and even see sun spots! Since the eclipse, I've used the binoculars to view the sun. Well made and satisfied with this purchase. I feel that my eyes are safely protected.

I love my purchase and if you are going to ball, then ball hard! These are great for seeing Sunspot activity. However, these are binoculars for looking at the sun. So how do you maximize your value? Get your friends to chip in. Have a local homeowners association? Great have them buy a solar binocular and then make it so that during the 3 hour path you swap the binoculars

Easy to use, and do wath it was advertised to do, I will use it to see sun when camping.

I was excited to find these in stock at BBY, but disappointed to find little if any noticeable difference between viewing the TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE with these verses Lunt paper glasses. Definitely not worth having unless you are a pro chasing eclipse' around the world. Quality is very good, manufacturer is known, price better than other comparable products.

These solar binoculars are for solar only viewing. They provide a smallish 10x view of the Sun with a non-removable white light solar filter. Will work for the Total eclipse event but don't expect to see small Sun spots with them on the Sun's surface.

Great for watching the sun and solar eclipse. Love them.

Used them for the eclipse and they worked very well. I was able to see all phases of the eclipse. I could clearly see the corolla. The binoculars were very easy to adjust and use.

Used these to view the annular eclipse. Great viewing.

I got them for the solar eclipse on 21 August 2017. I tried them out already and the picture is clear and they work great.

The August 2017 eclipse was a joy to see, using these I felt safe enough to look directly at it for a few moments. This are not your regular binoculars.

These Celestron - EclipSmart 10 x 42 Solar Binoculars - Black were great for watching the eclipse. I plan to look at additional cosmic events.

Bought these to watch rocket launches off the Florida coast. Gives a nice clear picture, and the large lenses pick up a good deal of light at night. Highly recommended!

I got these binoculars Friday evening prior to the eclipse 10/14 and they are ideal and excellent for viewing the sun . Light weight , comfortable and there were no clouds so the sun was very bright. Glad I got these for the eclipse in April 2024
