I got this as an upgrade to some rock bottom (30-50$) level refractor models I have (mostly used for skyline views) to show some friends a nice look at a recent blood moon/selenelion event in my area. There are some positives, but I'm returning it without hesitation. The good. Significant upgrade in terms of lense quality/magnification. Build quality of the telescope itself is nice. It is large, but not at all heavy, and I did a 40 min hike with it no problem. Laser adjuster actually worked pretty well, I was definitely skeptical it could be adjusted to be useful. The bad. The legs. OMG the legs. Floppy stand that wibbles and wobbles. It's also non standard, so I couldn't use a nice camera tripod I got second hand. It's described as having micro adjustment but all axes have a gum like effect where even at lowest level of magnification, you have to over steer and let it settle back into desired position. Simply impossible to do for the greater level of magnification. Not even a handle to help easy rotation. Trying to lock any view in a position moves angle significantly. I was really excited about the up/down mico adjuster rod, but even that was worse than loosening everything and freehanding. The phone holder thing/app is complete junk. Any other free gyro sky exploration app works better. Did not find position in sky even once (I assure you I followed the steps). There is no phone attachment for photos, just for the guided tour (it's just a mirror). There isn't even a lense that filters down a bright moon, which is standard for literally the cheapest scopes out there. Overall. I have no complaints at all about the optics. But the stand betrays all that is good about this model. The 'patent pending' phone holder is nonsense. I chose to keep a bottom level refractor paired with a very nice tripod instead of this without consideration of price (and it's 5x more).

Nice telescope for beginners. It is easy to setup and starting to explore the skies. It does take some time to get used to how to align the objects in the sky but once you get the hang of it its pretty nice. We were even able to get some photos of moon using just a phone and without a mount. Attached a few images - they are taken using iphone xs and added some filters.

This telescope is everything I could’ve asked for to let my kids view the moon. Tonight we will setup the phone connectivity aspect & target constellations. Recommend.

This is my first time buying a telescope for myself. Very straight-forward to set up if you follow the manual. Below is a photo of the moon that I took through the lens. I do find it harder to see further objects like planets, but for the most part, I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Great scope for beginners. The instructions that come with it are really good and will get you started fast. The app that comes with it is a bit inconsistent, but once you get it working, it's useful to find objects

Love this telescope it has a smooth movements and easy to build. Comes with stars sense explorer code for the app which is extremely helpful for locating planets and stars. Due to cloudy weather I have only viewed Jupiter but it was wonderful!

We absolutely love this telescope! We were able to quickly see the moon in high definition. My only issue is with the app that accompanies the telescope. It is just hard to figure out. Wish it was more user-friendly.

[Employee of bestbuy] Good telescope, but can be difficult to navigate the app. Not kid user friendly.

First I will say this was a gift to my son for Christmas. The item was shipped straight in the box that this item comes in , once I received it the corners were crushed and the bottom of the box was opened, I took photos , I immediately called bb to speak to a unprofessional cs girl that didn’t speak clear English so this was fun ,I finally understood that since bb didn’t have anymore in stock if I brought the item back to the store I would have to pay a restocking fee . I said like hell I will Since this item was delivered to my son that lives3 hrs away idk if he has checked it out yet. Once I find out I will post again . I also don’t get why you would ship such a fragile item in the box that lenses and breakable things come in . I wish I would of checked in a case before ordering also BB don’t even offer a case for this item I guess they expect the mangled box to hold up forever .

It is a very good telescope. Through it, I easily see five satellite of Jupiter, and took a clear picture with Saturn on Dec 21 when Jupiter and Saturn meet.

Set up the telescope and couldn't see anything. So We watched every video we could find on how to work it to see what we were doing wrong and still NOTHING. Complete waste of money. Very disappointing. Would not recommend.

gunna break down the pros and cons Pros: Very light weight and easy to carry, easy assembly and easy to move the telescope around. The view finder is great and has 2 dials to help with incisal alignment. now as far as the app is concerned. very very easy to use. It allows you to select from a list of things to see and breaks it into two different categories. Easy and challenging. you select an object and track and shows you where it is and uses guide arrows so you can move it into position. very fun to use. Cons: like a few comments I have seen already, the eye pieces are not great. you get a fair amount of refracting issues especially with the 10mm. with the 25mm I could see some stipes on Jupiter. and could make out the run around Saturn but with the 10mm it became more blurry. as far as the app goes, it doesn't always align perfectly. for a few it was off maybe 1 degree or so. not so far that you couldn't find it. I would love to give this a 5 star but I cant get over the eye pieces. easy to get new ones at least. the rest if great in my opinion.

I was looking for a decent beginner's telescope for a good price for my son's birthday and this was perfect! It's sturdy, easy to operate and the quality of the images is better than I expected. I would definitely recommend!

Works As Advertised! Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Easy to assemble and dismount. Supported app and smartphone holster great additions combined with laser finderscope. Cons: Not motorized. Reflection and Magnification range from included eypieces, barlow and mirror not strong enough for distant targets outside of the Moon, Venus, Mars and Jupiter. No Sun or Moon filter.

I am a new star/planet observer. I wanted something that could help me find objects in the sky. I haven't fully tested this out, but from what I can see and read from others, it works very well. The smartphone app does need very clear skies to work properly though. As far as the scope is concerned, views are very clear and I really like the focuser, it is very smooth. It is very light and easy to move around. Lastly, it does take some practice to get the tightness of the adjusting knobs tight enough to prevent movement but loose enough to make small adjustments. Overall, I do recommend this scope to those starting out and would like help finding things in the sky.
