What can I say, these speakers sounds great. They even have decent bass for a 2.0 system. They're not the smallest speakers (which is good if you equate driver size to sound quality), but they pack a punch. I rarely use them over 25% in my bedroom. The left speaker (where the amp is housed) can get warm, but nothing alarming like other folks have mentioned. And the speakers use speaker wire posts, so you have the option for greater separation if the included wire isn't long enough for you. Easily worth double the price!

I bought these to replace my current computer speakers. I wanted something with an attached volume knob and a headphone jack. Before I had to plug my headphones into my computer and adjust the volume through software. The sound quality with and without the headphones seem pretty much on par with what I expected. Nothing spectacular and better than most 2.0 computer speakers. The volume knob came somewhat broken that it only goes up 50% before it gets stuck due to the pcb with the two screws was cracked causing the variable resistor to get stuck. I like the ease of use and smaller desk space these take up and they look much nicer. They also can get very loud and I keep them below 50% which is why I didn't return them with another unit from the store. The red glow on the knob is a nice bonus. I love the new setup with these.

The Cerwin-Vega desktop speaker system is compact & attractive. Setup is a snap, and the only control is on-off volume - then you can adjust balance via your PC's software....if you need to. In my experience, the left-right balance and low-high (bass-treble) balance out of the box is fine. I didn't want to spend this much for a pair of PC speakers - but the sound seduced me.

I didnt like the sound at first, but then I adjusted my audio settings of my sound card, and I am impressed. Remember these are computer speakers not stereo speakers. You dont have to blast the sound at maximum capacity to get a great sound , but if you choose to do so, it will vibrate the neighbor's wall. I havnt blasted the speakers at maximum capacity yet, but I am pleased with the sound quality just at medium level , and it fills up my room with sound. They have a great appearence and youre guest will say "man where did you get those speakers? Other qualty speaker's prices are about $150 to $200 more.

Very good speakers for such a small package. Easy to set up right out of the box. I think every person who is a music lover should have a good set of desk top speakers, and these Cerwin Vega's fit the bill. Also liked the speakers have a good finish on them and have a quality feeling to them. everything you need to hook them up is included in the box. I would recommend upgrading the speaker and aux wiring.

I purchased the speakers to pair with a turntable that I recently purchased so I could give vinyl a try. Since I do not have an amplifier in my office, I wanted something that was self powered so I wouldn't need an extra component to listen to records. Set up was quick and easy with very clear directions. Opening the Amazon packaging took longer then The speaker set up itself! I connected the speakers to my turntable and chose Icky Thump by The White Stripes as my first track with this setup. Let me put it this way, I am definitely not an audio file, but it was practically a religious experience when I heard Jack's guitar and Megs pounding kick drum pumping from these powerful little speakers! I did a lot of research before making this purchase and if I had it to do all over again I would pick these speakers 10 out of 10 times. I Would highly recommend especially for somebody that is trying to get an affordable pair of quality speakers to try with a record player.

These speakers make your desktop computer sound very crisp and clear. Remember: 1. These are limited by the size of the woofer and 2. You need to turn them off when you are not using them, to help them from burning out unnecessarily. But all in all, very solid sounding powered speakers!

These are used for general audio for editing TV spots. We edit car ads for local Chicago based dealerships. These are easy setup for quick functionality. Overall, there is not too much that these cannot do. Similar speakers are sold my M-Audio. In fact Best Buy used to carry that brand and those speakers. Doesn't seem to be the case anymore. So we bought these. I would recommend these to anyone who needs reference speakers for general audio work. If you are in need of something for Recording and Mixing... you might want to invest in something higher end. Again, GREAT FOR THE VALUE!

I was looking for a small pair of speakers to go with the turntable I recently purchased. I did not have an amplifier so I needed something that was self powered. The sound quality is amazing for speakers in this price range. Icky Thump by the White Stripes has never sounded so good!

I bought this item for my desktop. Sound/bass quality is great for the price. The only complaint is that the audio cable is too short.

HOLY COW these speakers are nutts!! I was looking at either these or the avid av40'sI was shocked at how loud mine got with no distortion! The sound is Supper clear and with the perfect amount of base. I have a home studio I use them in, and mixing and editing is so much better with these. Plus just listening to music is awesome with these. I can really crank em up. You wont be disappointing.

I need a small powered speaker for monitoring recording. The computer speakers available really don't work for this kind of detail. There are lots of studio monitors available but the cost is much higher. For a small set up these are an excellent value.

Cerwin Vega does not disappoint with the small size desktop speakers. They deliver a deep bass sound and the power will not disappoint.

Fills up any room in the house. Great for parties! The bass shakes the floor. Sound quality is superb and clear. I am so impressed with this product. I had to buy two. One for daily use and the other for my home recording as a monitor. Versatile connections and this is a great bonus.

I picked these up so I could have a more consistent sound from my mac. I have to mix a audio podcast weekly and I noticed that going from episode to episode the mix sounded different. The speakers I had were not cutting it because they had a internal eq. These have a rather flat response, you can boost the low end but i like how they sound without it. They are a very solid speaker and for the money I would recommend them to someone looking for better sound on a budget.
You won't find a better pair of speakers for the price. They have a solid range of sound and you can play them loudly without the speakers crackling.

I am a musician and I am very particular about being able to hear all of the instruments in music and Cerwin Vega has made this happen. These are really great sounding speakers , amazingly full bass from a small speaker. They sound better than Bose in my opinion because you can hear the mid range clearly. On the negative side, the power cord pulls out too easily, some hot glue would fix that. The built in amplifier gets really warm but after a year on my first set I still have no problems with the operation. They are on and rockin everyday and every night until about 12 am. seven days a week. ( I recently bought another set so that tells you something). The "Vega Bass" switch doesn't do much but in the off position you still get plenty of bass. I was going to go wireless but these sounded so much better than anything you can buy at best buy, unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars for the top of the line digital with analog tube amp wireless speakers. It was worth it to me to run the wires.
