Chris Alastair - Sah Sex Pleek - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Chris Cohen's songs initially sound easy. They're each tiny jewels that unfurl at a leisurely pace, but dig a little deeper and you'll reach a melancholy core. His previous two albums - 2012's Overgrown Path, and 2016's As If Apart - were built from rich, blurry tracks that embedded themselves in your subconscious, like they'd always been there. Chris Cohen, his third solo album, is a thoughtful, accomplished meditation on life and family, backed by dusky instrumentation influenced by the late evening beauty of Pat Metheny's Falcon and the Snowman soundtrack, and Thomas Dolby's Golden Age of Wireless. It's beautiful, but it's also unflinching in it's depiction of emotional turmoil. Mastered by Bernie Grundman and written and recorded in his Lincoln Heights studio and at Tropico Beauties in Glendale, California over the course of the last two years with the help of Katy Davidson (Dear Nora), Luke Csehak (Happy Jawbone Family Band), Zach Phillips, and saxophonist Kasey Knudsen, it is his most straightforward album yet, but it is also the conclusion of an unofficial cycle that began with Overgrown Path. Album Tracks 1. Song They Play 2. Edit Out 3. Green Eyes 4. Sweet William 5. House Carpenter 6. Twice in a Lifetime 7. What Can I Do 8. The Link 9. Heavy Weather Sailing 10. No Time to Say Goodbye

Album Tracks 2. We Will Survive

Following 2015's beautifully written introspective album 'Golden Age', singer-songwriter Chris Staples is back with his upcoming full length , 'Holy Moly'. While maintaining the authentic reflection Staples is known for in his songwriting, he has embraced a cautiously optimistic outlook for his future. Staples finds gentle melodies with his trademark stripped-back guitar, and also introduces new sounds by integrating keyboards for sonically rich arrangements. Staples' previous releases were met with praise from NPR's All Songs Considered, American Songwriter, Paste, The AV Club, and more. Album Tracks 1. World on Fire 2. Holy Moly 3. Old Friend 4. Sliver Moon 5. Spinning Wheel 6. Horse and Saddle 7. Everybody Said 8. Halfway Over 9. River in Reverse 10. Running Out of Time
