About this product

2020 . Chuck Prophet, San Francisco's savior-songwriter, has returned with The Land That Time Forgot. Varying from the rich heartland rock of songs like 'Best Shirt On' to the building drum machine of 'Marathon' and all the way back to stripped back words and guitar of 'Nixonland'; and 'Get Off the Stage'Prophet's work defies classification. Chuck Prophet is a rock and roll star in a country that has forgotten that it needs rock and roll stars. America turns it's popular musicians into celebrities (as if that's what we need more of). Meanwhile, the true grit, write it like you live it and live it 'til it kills you musical artist exists in obscurity, kicking ass and taking names in small clubs every night while sweating blood over making records. Thankfully, we live in the same timeline as Chuck Prophet. Album Tracks 1. Best Shirt on 2. High As Johnny Thunders 3. Marathon 4. Paying My Respects to the Train 5. Willie and Nilli 6. Fast Kid 7. Love Doesn't Come from the Barrel of a Gun 8. Nixonland 9. Meet Me at the Roundabout 10. Womankind 11. Waving Goodbye 12. Get Off the Stage

Chuck Prophet - Wake The Dead - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Chuck's first album in 4 years is inspired by the cumbia bands he saw at San Francisco clubs in the pandemic's aftermath, while undergoing cancer treatment. The music was a source of joy, during a dark time. He started playing with ¿Qiensave? a cumbia band based in Salinas, CA. The result is 11 new Chuck Prophet songs wrapped in a cumbia shell. The latin rhythms & chord progressions merge with Chuck's signature song styles to create something new that defies genre, but is undeniably joyful. Album Tracks 1. Wake the Dead 2. Betty's Song 3. Give the Boy a Kiss 4. First Came the Thunder 5. Sally Was a Cop 6. Red Sky Night 7. Same Old Crime 8. One Lie for Me, One for You 9. Sugar Into Water 10. In the Shadows (For Elon) 11. Chuck Prophet - Bobby Fuller Died For Your Sins - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Chuck Prophet describes his new disc BOBBY FULLER DIED FOR YOUR SINS as California Noir. The state has always represented the Golden Dream, and it's the tension between romance and reality that lurks underneath the surface in all noir films and paperbacks, and that connects these songs. Doomed love, inconsolable loneliness, rags to riches to rags again, and fast-paced violence are always on the menu on the Left Coast. Featuring InchA Bad Year for Rock and Roll,Inch an ode to all of the great artists we lost in 2016 and a bunch of other Chuck Prophet (soon to be) classics. Album Tracks 1. Bobby Fuller Died for Your Sins 2. Your Skin 3. Open Up Your Heart 4. Coming Out in Code 5. Killing Machine 6. Bad Year for Rock and Roll 7. Jesus Was a Social Drinker 8. In the Mausoleum (For Alan Vega) 9. Rider or the Train 10. If I Was Connie Britton 11. Post-War Cinematic Dead Man Blues 12. We Got Up and Played 13. Alex Nieto
