I had the Superbit version of this movie for a long time. I'm glad I held out till this wonderful, action packed 4K version came out with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Your subwoofer will get a very good workout while watching this movie, especially, at the ending scene with the helicopter. Also bought all Rocky 4K Steelbooks but I think this Stallone film has the best PQ & audio quality.

One of Stallone’s best 90s films is even better in 4k with Atmos thats demo worthy.

Sony reissued Cliffhanger in a nice SteelBook package with Dolby Vision grading, which was not available in the previous release with the slipcover. The SteelBook is matte with photos from the film on the front, back, inside, and on both the Blu-ray and 4K UHD discs. How does it look and sound? Amazing. From the opening scenes you experience the Dolby Atmos audio. It's done well. Upgraded, but not in any way distracting or feeling out of place from the original audio experience. This track can get loud and thunderous at times; avalanches, gunshots, helicopter rotors all have presence. Dialogue is clear, as well. The Dolby Vision here looks great. The picture has plenty of detail and the mountains are gorgeous. The white of snow shines like never before and this is an upgrade over the Blu-ray, but if you have the previous release with HDR10, perhaps not so much. Still, I like the packaging here and I did not own the previous release, so I am happy Sony reissued this one.

A beautiful 30th Anniversary Edition of Stallone's Cliffhanger! This is one of his very best movies he ever did. For me, it is in my top 5 of his. Rocky being number one. The transfer is better than the previous release in some ways, but it depends greatly on the equipment you are watching this new 4K edition on. The Steelbook looks great, a nice matte finish with loads of artwork. Audio is: English Dolby Atmos 7.1 English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 French 5.1 French Dolby Surround Spanish Dolby Surround (This is the 4K disc) There is special feature Deleted Scenes which there are a total of 17 selected from the main menu. *This was not on the previous 4K release. (New) Overall, appears to be a really good edition. Blu-ray looks and sounds good as well. Both discs have artwork on them from the movie. Excellent. Includes a Digital copy.

This is a great movie and the steelcase is perfect addition to a collection.

Cliffhanger still holds up remarkably well 30 years later! The movie is solid, and has some striking winter & climbing segments that fans will love. For the new 4K transfer looks nice, but some wide shot scenery pans look Standard Definition still but nonetheless happy to add this to my steelbook collection. Solid exterior & interior images on the steelbook.

This 30th Anniversary copy of "Cliffhanger" is a must-by if you are a collector or fan of Stallone. The artwork is fantastic and will look great on your movie shelf. The package includes the 4K, Blu-Ray, and digital code that can be redeemed for apple tv or vudu. At $30, I would call this an essential.

Excellent 4k! Cliffhanger has never looked better. The steelbook art is so cool too. Picture quality of this film is top tier and one of my all time favorite 4ks. I shouldnt have to say anything about the film other than its some of Sly's best work. This is a fun ride.

This is the best film about climbers, starring the iconic Sly. With a star studded supporting cast and great director. Beautifully filmed with plenty of action, such a great Blu-ray set. If you’re a Sly fan then you know what to do, buy it now.

A perfectly titled taut suspense thriller, this release is great for showing off the potential of UHD. Top notch remastering work on both audio and video. I've never seen those mountains looking so crisp. It's theater grade picture on a 4K projector.

The 4K Cliffhanger 30th Anniversary disc is really well done. Terrific video and audio. This movie holds up really well even though it was made sometime ago. The action scenes were and still are great. Highly recommended

A classic by today's standards, I purchased the 4k steelbook that has the classic poster artwork. At least I remembered this photo so I'm sure it's from poster.

Great 90s action film and it looks great on 4K. The extras are great and really make the upgrade worthwhile.

Picture quality is fantastic on my 4K laser projector and Dolby Atmos on my receiver. Great way to watch a 90’s classic.

Excellent movie. The sound really kicks on this one and is still one of my favorite Lithgow performances as the villain!
