Doesn't always reliably keep devive on, I've had to unplug and plug it back in. It's also something that probably shouldn't be an additional charge when you pay for the dashcam to be installed. I also find the idea of having it wired into the car but just being a plug in to be counter intuitive.

Not sure because Geek Squad sold me the wrong one and didn't tell me until they where installing it but the price was the same. Even exchange... but the device is installed facing the passenger seat. I cannot adjust without getting out the car walking to the other side. So, I haven't no idea what to do with it but just ride and hopefully it's records. Make sure you have correct kit!

It is long enough to hide the wires and includes connectors on the end to connnect to standard fuse taps. Don't be afraid to use this, its really easy. There are empty powered slots on the always hot side of the fuse box you can tap and for the switched power, tap the cig adapter fuse. The ground is easy, there will be a bolt nearby that holds the fuse box in place. Just use that.

I’m glad I talked to Eric in installation and he recommended the hardwire. I was worried about the lighter plug getting loose after a while. This is better because you can’t even see it. You would think it came from the factory. This also frees up lighter plug for anything else I might want to use. I’m glad I went there for my install.

This kit is a practical solution if you want a cleaner install instead of cables dangling everywhere. Once it’s set up, it does what it’s supposed to—consistent power and a more professional look. What I liked is the flexibility with USB-C plus the adapter. The downside is that installation can be a little tedious if you’re not used to routing cables or working around trim.
