I ordered a remote start for my car, I had scheduled an appointment for the install about a month out, I was told the day before my appointment that “the tech that is scheduled that day, is not certified to do that install”. So not only did you guys screw up by scheduling it on a day that might not work, but you have techs working there that are not certified? Well let me come back to this. So not only do you just cancel my appointment, your guys lied to me saying that the “compustar” remote start I had bought, was not going to be the best fit and that the “viper” would be a “much better” fit, your guys also some how try to put this on me and told me that I would need to come in and reschedule an appointment. So when I come in to reschedule my appointment, I was told by one of your workers that the tech that was scheduled to do my install either does one of two things when confronted with a problem like this, either make the job easier for him self, or just not do the job at all. The Technician they were referring to is Calvin. Not only that but Calvin is the one that called me and and canceled my appointment because he said the tech that day isn’t certified to do the work, Calvin is the tech that was scheduled that day. So he called me canceled my appointment that was with him because he didn’t want to do a “hard”job. I do not care if it’s a hard job, I had already purchased the remote start that included install. That was $300+ dollars, so him just canceling my appointment is incredibly frustrating because he did not want to do the job. I genuinely never felt so insulted and upset with a company before. I will and have continued to tell all my friends and family to never do any business with Best Buy or with Geek Squad. You guys gave me the hardest time, made this extremely difficult and a painful experience. The guys over at Geek Squad need to be trained on customer service and how to deal with problems. Best Buy you need to step up your game. Again, I would not recommend Best Buy to anyone, not only are you guys expensive with your products but your customer service sucks so bad. I am extremely disappointed with your service. Please let me know how you guys plan to fix this and make this right.

Got installed by geek squad, the auto start only worked for about two weeks. It a lifetime warranty but when I went to get it checked by geek squad they said it should work and that something must have been blocking the connection~it doesn’t even work when I am standing right next to the vehicle and pressing the auto start! Since the return time has passed I can’t even return. Don’t waste your time. Bottom line~Product defective or geek squad doesn’t seem to have the skill to fix.

I am not sure if the product was defective, or it was the installer. I pressed lock once, but it would not lock the car. My key fob will lock my car but not this one. My alarm will go off if a car with a loud stereo pass by. The wires are hanging under the hood.

So far so good, no issues at all. We originally purchased a different item, but quickly found out there were additional items needed to install it. It was refined for this item, which was lower in price and actually came recommend over the item from the Beat Buy manager. All in all we have not had any issues yet. It is easy to use as well.

I bought this remote starter and had it installed at Best Buy in Reynoldsburg. I am very happy with it work and on cold days it makes it’s worth even more. I’m very happy to say I would buy another one or suggest to others to buy one of these. It’s always nice to get up to a warm truck and go out and do my daily chores this is an A+ plus I recommend it to everyone

Great product so far! Had BB install it so I can't say anything about ease of install but it works wonderfully! This particular model came with free installation. Jon, the tech, explained everything in detail so I had no questions when I left there. Completely recommend BB and the installation team but I did take advice from other reviewers that suggested to call well in advance of your install app't and ask if any other parts are needed. My 2020 Eclipse Cross needed a T-harness which was just $20 and BB customer service verified the correct part and I was able to purchase it while on the phone with them.

The Compustar Remote Starter has done everything it's supposed to. I can start my car from the house or my desk at work during the cold mornings or evenings and allow it to warm up properly while keeping the doors locked and vehicle safe. It claims a 1,500 ft range, but it's probably about half that in actuality but that doesn't affect how it's used much. I can see where a longer range would be beneficial in store parking lots, etc, but for 95% of the use, 750 ft is plenty. It does take a little longer to start, up to 8 seconds of holding the button than other remote starters I've used, but again, more of an inconvenience than an actual thing wrong with it. Also, figuring out the number of clicks to unlock just the driver door, or to unlock all the doors is unpredictable.
