This product on the surface when you first open it up looks extremely basic. I did a lot of comparing between this and Sony Vegas and decided on this. At first I was very disappointed in the product mainly because it shared no hot keys with vegas, i.e. "S" is to split clips in Vegas and "V" is to split clips in studio. I was pretty stubborn at first about all the differences, but I eventually took the time to fiddle with everything and really learn all the different hot keys and features. I must say this product is vastly superior to the similarly priced version of vegas. The added transitions and effects that come with studio are a much higher quality than I used many years ago when I bought a pinnacle dazzle. The editing options take getting used to and the render I am still figuring out the perfect settings, but I am sure I will clean everything up eventually. This is a great product that is definitely not intuitive for a former Sony Vegas user, but it was the right choice at the right price and I would pick this again if I had the choice. Uses to work with Mac, this program is better than MAC video editing software. I love it.

Large learning curve but once understood easy to use

I have always use the corelvideostudio but now I tryed this one and It has way more effects, transitions, etc than the corel. I still like corelvideostudio and sometimes I make videos mixing both programs in 1 video.

Purchased for personal and school use. Didn't want to spend a lot. Easy to use, worked well given it's lower end price point.
