Great headphones with lots of connectivity options. Came in a small box, included are the headphones, a USB wireless dongle and a Type C USB charging cable. The headphones themselves can work on a PC or an Xbox mainly (box says can work on other systems too). I'm mainly using them on my Xbox Series X, however I highly recommend to plug them in a PC at least once, if you have one. Because their Corsair iCue software will detect them and update any firmware (fixes bugs, gives new features). Mine did have a firmware update on the PC. It was fast to update the dongle firmware, but the headphones firmware took almost 10 minutes (had to plug them directly via USB cable to the PC). Once updated they can be used on a computer, however there are some caveats: 1- the game to chat volume level feature does not work on PC, 2- they don't have their "soundID" feature that the regular PC version of these have. They are mainly for the Xbox and they work great there. You double press the power button and the LED light should change (white for PC mode, green for Xbox mode). On the Xbox they do support game/chat level feature (where you can turn down or up the volume of your party chat, separated from the game volume, lets say if your friends are shouting and you can't hear well the game you are playing). They also come with a Dolby atmos license so you can use spatial audio (on the PC, it disables the option to use the EQ on iCue, you must use the one in the Atmos windows app). Comfort is great, the ear pads are made of a type of velour material, they are breathable. They can get hot naturally, however they are not sweaty like a leather type one. I use glasses and they were comfy too. The adjustment system is clever, there is a strap on top that you can undo via Velcro straps and that decides how tight you want them on your head. I love the mic, as it flips up and down. When up, it mutes the mic and a red light glows on the mic tip. If down, mic works and there is a white light (the light isn't obtrusive at all, but if you want you can turn it off on their iCue PC app). Battery life has been outstanding. It lasts forever I have only needed to charge them during the weekend after a 3 day gaming session. With a flat EQ, noticed the sound is on the warmer side, and bass was good but not overwhelming. Mids and trebble were good too. They are closed back type headphones. They are really good for Xbox gaming (pc too) and super comfy, if you are looking for great build quality, outstanding battery life and good sound, these are the wireless headphones you need!

Corsair HS80 MAX V2 Wireless Headset (2025) I recently picked up the Corsair HS80 MAX V2 Wireless Headset, and it’s honestly one of the best audio experiences I’ve had. If you care about premium sound, comfort, and versatility, this headset checks all the boxes. Unboxing Experience: The packaging is clean and intuitive. Inside, you’ll find the headset and wireless dongle right on top. Lift the flap underneath to reveal a braided USB-C to USB-A charging cable and a few extras. Everything feels thoughtfully arranged. Setup & Connectivity: Setup was a breeze. Plug the dongle into your PC, Mac, PlayStation, or Xbox One, tap the power button on the left ear cup, and you're connected. Xbox One pairing takes a bit more patience—double-press the power button to enter Xbox Mode, and give it a few tries if it doesn’t connect immediately. Dual Device Power: One of my favorite features is dual connectivity. You can use 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth at the same time, which is perfect for multitasking between gaming and calls or music. Bluetooth pairing is simple—just hold the power button for four seconds. Battery Life: With RGB lighting turned off, this headset delivers up to 65 hours of battery life on 2.4GHz wireless. That’s nearly three full days of use between charges—perfect for long gaming sessions or travel. Sound Quality: The audio is simply stunning. Deep, rumbling lows, rich mids, and crisp highs make everything from games to music sound vibrant and immersive. It’s easily one of the cleanest sound profiles I’ve experienced in a wireless headset. Pros: Exceptional sound quality with rich bass and crisp highs Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio RGB Lighting Dual connectivity (2.4GHz wireless + Bluetooth) for multitasking Up to 65 hours of battery life with RGB off Premium build that’s lightweight and durable Easy setup across multiple platforms (PC, Mac, PlayStation, Xbox) Braided USB-C cable included for fast charging Cons: Xbox One pairing can be finicky and may require multiple attempts RGB lighting can reduce battery life significantly No carrying case included in the box Final Verdict: The Corsair HS80 MAX V2 is a powerhouse headset that blends style, stamina, and superb sound. If you're serious about audio and want a headset that keeps up with your lifestyle, this one’s a winner.

The Corsair HS80 Max Wireless is the latest in the Corsair HS series attempting to combine premium audio with gaming sound performance. This year's version has added significant life to the battery, Bluetooth connectivity, and Xbox support. It gives you Dolby Atmos audio, a broadcast quality microphone, and aims to deliver comfort for your marathon gaming sessions. Let's see how it does. - Design, Build, and Unboxing - The HS80 Max comes in a steel gray color with large angular earcups, a floating headband, and memory foam pads with a breathable fabric to keep your ears cool. There's a hard plastic shell that feels solid and durable but middle of the line in terms of build quality. It's more than suitable for gaming daily. The box comes with the essentials: Headphones, a Wireless USB-A Dongle, USB-A to USB-C cable, and a warranty & quick start guide. There's also a card with a QR code. The packaging is simple, eco-friendly and minimalistic. The HS80 Max headphones swivel left to right and there is a second elastic headband (it can be adjusted easily with a unique, but premium Velcro attachment on the inside of the band.) Once I adjusted the inner headband I felt instant relief, out of the box they were a little tight. Once adjusted the inner headband feels great and makes the headphones feel more secure. There aren't really any flashy LEDs or gamer aesthetics (a slight Corsair logo in RGB but that's it), just a nice subtle, dark matte gray. On the left side there's a foldup to mute mic that will show a red LED when muted. - Specs & Features - The Corsair HS80 Max headphones have surround sound, Dolby Atmos (needs to be activated), and Windows Sonic support for Xbox. It can operate in dual wireless mode, 2.4GHz with the dongle and works up to 50 feet. I was able to walk all through the 2nd floor of my house without losing connection. It also has Bluetooth, you can toggle between both, or better yet on the Xbox you can run both. So if you want to jump on your phone and hear the game at the same time, on the Xbox you're good. (BTW Most platforms make you switch) There's a flip down microphone that's very clear. It isn't detachable. Battery Life - The battery life is what has dramatically improved here for the HS series. It will give you 65 hours for wireless and significantly more for Bluetooth. You can quick charge for 15 minutes and get another 5 or 6 hours of gameplay which is great if you're grinding through a game. Controls - There's a power button, volume wheel which also functions as an EQ if you press it, and a Bluetooth button which can switch between wireless and Bluetooth with a quick press. - Comfort - Adjust the inner headband to fit your head and these are very comfortable. They don't feel heavy and the earcups feel cool and comfortable on your head. My son wears glasses and he had no issues with fit either, his glasses stayed put. I wonder about the long term durability of the elastic inner headband and the Velcro, but kids can destroy just about anything so we'll see. Note: There are replacements available on the Corsair website for the headband and earcups if necessary. After long gaming sessions I always feel a little bit of weight on the top of my head, but these felt pretty light, and also remained fairly cool, no heat on the ears. - Performance - These headphones definitely deliver a bass rich profile out of the box which is great for gaming. I did have to adjust the EQ to get the highs dialed in for better positional sound. Gaming is where these headphones really shined. Positional sound was great in Fortnite, Red Dead, and Overwatch 2. It's not the best I've heard but it's close enough. I'm listening for footsteps and position of shots around me. It's definitely adequate for competitive gaming. Regarding Movies, in my opinion, with its bass heavy delivery it works best for Action and Adventure movies. Dialogue is okay, and I had to dial up the mids and highs a bit in the EQ. Dolby Atmos sounds incredible on the headphones (make sure you use the card to activate.) On the downside there is some sound leakage when cranking up the volume, so if there's someone nearby, they're going to hear it. There's also no ANC, but that's typical at this price point. The Mic on the HS80 Max is one of the best I've utilized. My voice came through loud, crisp, clear, and natural sounding. It also seemed to do a pretty good job of blocking out my loud family in the background :) I had no problem with disconnects or stability. Battery life is what I've stated before, exceptional at 65 hours. Downside is if you do need to replace the battery it is not replaceable but that shouldn't happen for several years. If you want to maximize battery life, turn the LEDs off. The Corsair HS80 Max Wireless is finally native on the Xbox Series X/S.. The battery lasted all week for me and is a major upgrade from the last version. These headphones have a solid mic, great sound once dialed in, great battery life, and consistent connectivity. The design is very subtle which also makes them easy to travel with. Another solid performer from Corsair, I recommend them. *Pros* * Excellent Battery Life * Mic Quality is top tier * Comfortable * Dolby Atmos * Dual connectivity *Suggestions/Needs Improvement* * Detachable mic would be nice * Inner headband is a love/hate accessory (personally I liked it) * No Analog Jack * Needs EQ tuning out of the box
