Q: Nominal/maximum write speed?
A: I’m 75 years old and have experience with lots and lots of different types of technological equipments over the years. These published nominal/maximum speeds are useful in terms of comparing similar products when making purchasing decisions. When using these SSDs, the actual speeds go up and down like roller coasters. In actual practice, seldom do you get close to these published speeds. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. There are so many “weak links” in transfer processes that slow things down to 20 or 30% of maximum.
Q: Can the drive be reformatted to ntfs?
A: Yes, and easy to do in Windows operating systems.
Q: Will this allow me to transfer downloaded files from a CHROMEBOOK onto this SSD Drive?
A: The X8 is compatible with just about anything you'd want to connect to it, ranging from Windows and macOS to iPad Pro, Xbox, Chromebook, and Android devices. (You may need another adapter in order to connect to Androids, and keep in mind that you'll want a USB 3.1 Gen 2—also known as USB 3.2 Gen 2—connection to get the most throughput with any device.) So, downloads from Chromebook? Should be no problem whatsoever. If you were to have an unusual problem of some kind, you also have the flexibility of reformatting the drive into formats made available by your specific operating system.

A: yes. with iPhone 14 Pro and lower, you need the apple lighting adapter. With the new iPhone 15 Pro /Pro Max you just need the usb-c cable
