I was a novice video editor purchasing this to do final editing on family 8mm films I'm converting to digital. It takes a bit of reading and experimenting but I was able to perform all editing needed for my task such as cropping, speed changes, adding title footage, color/brightness adjustments, splitting/cutting, and film reversing, etc.

It wasn't much different then the one I already had. There are a few more new transitions but they removed one or two my previous program had. The customer support is definently 5 stars. Now you can't upload to Facebook. I did get my video uploaded on Facebook but the 5 people I sent it to only 2 could see the video. I did put on dvd and they were able to see it that way. I think that is more Facebook not allowing the videos to be played.

I've been upgrading whenever a new version is released. This one blows the doors off of all previous versions. The biggest help for me personally: The ability to improve the overall quality of my 30+ year old video tapes after importing them digitally. Sometimes with just 1 click. Huge help with image density, and color. Even kicks up the sound quality, just amazing. Plus it has all the other bells, and whistles of previous iterations, and then some. I'm already way happy with it, can't imagine once I find all the other stuff available. Did I mention, Best Buys price made it even sweeter, it was 1/2 the price offered elsewhere when I bought it.

This is a very good video editing software. With any software of this type you can expect a learning curve; but with same practice anyone with same basic understanding of the process can use Power Director 18.

I bought this program to create family slides using pics and videos from previous years. Definitely a great program! Couldn't be happier.

best if you have had experience with this type of program in the past. Great product, works well, no crashes.

The Geek Boys were great. They were professional and had excellent knowledge about their technical craft. They installed the TV with an existing receiver and audio system which they navigated it well. The computer hookup did not work because of the age the receiver. I called the Total Tech Hotline to buy a new receiver and the tech person figured out how to accomplish the goal without a new receiver because the existing receiver was high end and would very expensive to replace. The Tech Boys came back to install a HDMI switch and he thought out a way to do it a different (less expense) way saving even more dollars (no need for the switch). All those at Best Buy Geek Squad and Total Tech were definitely acting in the best interest of the customer!

I had a little trouble installing it, but the Geek Squad helped. So I am just getting started with Power Director. Thankfully it had a help function to teach me what to do as some it was not intuitive for me. So far I have been able to start to create a video with multiple clips put together.

Love the product line. Easy to use, simple, and intuitive. Render fast (with proper cpu & gpu).

Easy to use it is my 2nd version of this program and I wouldn't trade it for anything

If the Best Buy associate that I had the appointment with was more knowledgeable in the department that he works in, I feel I would have been recommended something that was more of what J was looking for instead of something totally unneeded. If I had the energy to drive 25 minutes to go back to Best Buy, I would have definitely returned this item. So I am just out of $70-$80 bucks I guess...
