Home Theater Buying Guide

  • 1030-joule rating: Absorbs a high amount of energy to adequately protect your equipment and prolong the life of the unit.
  • 12 surge-protected outlets: Include 6 with battery backup and 4 widely spaced outlets to protect the equipment in your home office.
  • Data line protection: Halts power surges in your phone line. HID-compliant USB port allows easy connectivity.
  • GreenPower UPS Bypass design: Enables stable power to bypass the power supply's transformer for minimized energy consumption, noise and heat buildup. Ultraquiet design hushes operational noise.
  • EMI/RFI noise filter: Protects against electromagnetic interference and radio frequency interference on power lines that can interfere with equipment performance and cause memory loss.
  • AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation): Automatically regulates low voltages and overvoltage, within defined tolerances, for clean, consistent AC power.
  • Line Interactive topology: Utilizes an autotransformer to regulate low-voltage situations, such as brownouts, and overvoltages, without switching to battery power.
  • Simulated sine wave output: With pulse wave modulation generates a stepped, approximated sine wave for efficient power.
  • PowerPanel Personal Edition software: Offers a user-friendly dashboard interface that allows you to easily control and monitor the power supply.

Q: Why doesn't my CyberPower 850 VA battery back-up system give power on the side that says surge-battery?

A: Mine does after turning on the power button. If yours does not, I would swap it out for another unit.

Q: I lost power and the battery backup didn't work. Everything went down. Does the internal battery need to be replaced?

A: Eventually yes the battery will need replacing. But you should get several years before that happens. If it’s a newer unit my only guess it’s overloaded and the battery cannot power what you have plugged in. Only other option is a defective battery.

Q: Can i use this to power my router so my security cameras stay on ,they are arlo and blink.

A: I have my Blink hub along with my Fios router and Abode security system hub on this UPS. This will keep them up BUT if your Internet goes down as well Blink will not be able to upload video. Blink does not cache. The UPS will keep my Abode security system up an running even with an Internet outage as it uses wireless phone service as a backup. I cannot speak to Arlo.

Q: How much battery backup time is provided?

A: It depends on how much is plugged into the unit, I have a desktop PC and a 23 inch monitor plugged into mine and get an approximate runtime of 102 minutes, I have not tested the entire runtime but it is more than adequate for me to finish my work and properly shut down.

Q: It keeps beeping how do turn it pff

A: Beeping is a sign that the unit isn't receiving power from the wall plug, but is turned on. If you just want to remove the unit from power & not use it - turn it off with the power button (hold for 3 seconds). If it's during a power outage and you want to continue providing power to your plugged in devices without the noise - press the Mute button.
