About this product
The Ship (Necrologies) is DCW at their idiosyncratic best, with songs about Shackleton's journeys to the North Pole, suicide, the Ukrainian mafia and the president of Kazakhstan. The former Soviet Union is a world that lead singer Tom Mayne (recently featured on John Oliver's Last Week Tonight) knows well from his days as an anti-corruption campaigner. The album follows their 2018 LP The Octoberman Sequence. A key band in the late 2000s/early 2010s UK antifolk DIY scene, David Cronenberg's Wife ('DCW' for short) served as a catalyst for other like-minded bands in London to follow suit. 'David Cronenberg's Wife are wicked' (Lias Saoudi, Fat White Family)01 - Suli's House 02 - No Way Out.03 - I Don't Know Anymore 04 - Nazarbayev Applause Laughing 05 - Delete All Now 06 - Put My Name Beneath Jane's 07 - You Can't Donate a Heart (And Live to Tell the Tale) 08 - Hannity Comes Home 09 - The Russian Death Song 10 - No Man's Land Album Tracks 1. Suli's House 2. No Way Out 3. I Don't Know Anymore 4. Nazarbayev Applause Laughing 5. Delete All Now 6. Put My Name Beneath Jane's 7. You Can't Donate a Heart (And Live to Tell the Tale) 8. Haunted by the various attempts at failed band projects, Wiebe set his pen to paper and hands to guitar in 2005 to write a collection of songs that expressed his feelings, emotions, and inner thoughts about discouragement and disappointment. This proved to be a therapeutic process. Equipped with a handful of unconventional arrangements, Wiebe went into the studio to record. Inspired by Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Extreme, Mourning Widows, Further Seems Forever and others, Wiebe would go on to create an eclectic mix of Folk Rock, Funk, and Jazz songs that make up this collection. Album Tracks 1. Six Sides 2. Not By a Long Shot 3. Too Weak 4. Clay to Mold 5. Afraid 6. Human 7. Cartwheels of Life 8. Pin the Tail 9. Between the Lines 10. Live for This Day
