Daymare: 1998 is a third person survival horror game that recreates the mood of iconic titles from the 90's. An incident that turns a small town into a deadly zone, three characters to play with and little time to find the truth, before it's mutated citizens abruptly end your mission. There are some bad reviews out there claiming this is a poor man's Resident Evil knock off, but that couldn't be further from the truth. It is totally opposite & well worth investing in, I love it personally & would highly recommend it if your a true blue survival horror fan!

The harsh reviews this game is receiving is not fair in my opinion. The reloading is a pain but other than that it’s pretty good. The storyline is ok but the game play is really fun its challenging and it has a spooky vibe to it. Try it.

Daymare is awesome throwback to the survival horror games I enjoyed in the past. It’s no Resident Evil or Silent Hill but it’s still fun.

Great visuals with a classic feel in its homage to Resident Evil 2, which it set out to originally be a remake of. Interesting reload system that doesn't add too much to the game, unfortunately.

4* I gave it it 5 because I feel like there are a lot of people writing reviews that don’t understand 90s survival horror and what this game was intended to feel like. You’ll notice a lot of younger kids mad that it doesn’t feel like RE6 or RE5 (these are hardly survival horror games) action packed with explosions and all that. The reload system was very unique and a nice touch. You can choose your reload which is extremely realistic. You can reload faster but drop your magazine Requiring you to have to go back for it (speed reload) or reload slower and retain the magazine (tactical reload) if you’ve ever been in the infantry or had tactical training you may appreciate this realistic consideration. This game pays tribute to 90’s survival horror games(hence the name) Not your more recent shooters. Those of us who grew up playing these games (Dino crisis, Resident Evil, Silent Hill) will definitely enjoy. The price feels a little steep considering it could use improvement but I’m very satisfied the game felt nostalgic brought back memories of playing resident evil with my friends huddled around the tv.

This game might not be the best zombie game out there but I actually enjoyed it. It offers some scary moments even though the action might be a little slow at times. All in all I enjoyed the storyline and the game and if you like battling zombies, you will enjoy this game too.

Look, if you go in expecting the quality or playability of the recent Resident Evil 2 or 3 remake you will be tremendously disappointed. BUT... If you take off the rose colored glasses and see it for what it is it can be fun. This game is a love letter / throwback to survival horror of old. The birth of the genre back in the PlayStation one days when you had games like resident evil, silent hill, etc. I'm enjoying the playthrough. The ONLY thing I dislike so far is how enemies come out of literally nowhere and grab you. You have NO idea they are there. That's poor design, but they probably had 1/1000th of the budget of resident evil so I can be forgiving. Plus I grew up in the old school era. It's not bad, I got it for $15 bucks. Fair at that price for sure.

This game is far much better than I would’ve expected. Reminds me totally of Resident Evil for the PS. The 90’s references are also cool.

This is a really great find. What a blast I had playing. Old school horror done right. Yes, there are some minor nags like clipping. But it doesn’t effect overall play.

This game is not bad if you play on modern mode but sheesh the game speed is slow and lags. The voice acting is really terrible and annoying. I give this game some props for trying to clone Resident Evil.

Story plot intriguing. But the controls are horrible. Game feels like a low budget Resident Evil game.
