If you are a zombie killer like I am. This is one to definitely add to your collection. Don't look for a co op story mode game like the previous deadrising. No time frame restraints like previous DRs. Totally worth it get it! Smooth gaming dynamics, and 4k definition.

Dead Rising 4 is a solid zombie-slaying game with fun weapons and tons of action. The open world and holiday theme are cool, but it’s missing some of the charm and challenge from earlier games. No timer makes it more casual, but some longtime fans might miss the pressure. Still, if you just want to mow down hordes of zombies, it’s a good time.

Always been a fan of this series. With the upcoming remaster of the original game, I was able to buy Dead Rising 4 on sale for 6 bucks! Even better deal knowing its not on GamePass.

Having played every single Dead Rising game, DR4 is an enjoyable game. The combos have been much more simplified now as you dont need exact components to make combo weapons and you can make them on the fly like in DR3. Graphically the game looks better than all the previous entries. But it has one game play bug that keeps popping up from time to time which is slightly annoying. The best part about the game is the map is much bigger now; the world is much more open than in the past entries. Plus there does not seem to be a game timer in which you have to complete the story in nor do you have to find zombrex any more. These are definitely game changers but it does not bother me. And finally, the story is nothing special.

I played the first game, skipped the 2nd, and then played the 3rd and now 4th. The game takes place in a Christmas setting which is fantastic to play during the holiday season! All the zombies are dressed as elves and there's xmas music in the menus and car radios. Don't worry though if you're not in love with the theme because while the MALL is heavy in xmas décor, the rest of the "maps" (a town, the roads, and little country side) simply look more like regular winter then actual xmas. Gameplay is much like the 3rd (they removed the timer - saved it for a DLC expansion) - and otherwise you run around getting collectibles, crafting fun xmas themed weapons of mass destruction and "sleigh" your way around the campaign. It is repetitive yes, but previous games were too. One down side, is they seemed to downplay the Maniacs this time around. No cutscenes to introduce them, and no real standout characters. They are in the game still, but feel like a afterthought and play like slightly harder normal enemies then actual true bosses.

Dead rising is a fun series, you can either play the story or spend your time killing zombies. I appreciate that there isn't a timer anymore, making you rush through before the clockbtocks down and you, or your daughter turn into a zombie. The humor in this edition is so great, and most of the funny moments come from the clothes you can wear or the weapons you can use. The game was fun, but just felt quickly put together for a holiday release.

The 4k update makes it a pretty game and while the gameplay is repetitive it is still fun and the creative weapon options keeps it upbeat. Overall a solid game. 80/100

While I have played most of the previous Dead Rising games I do not consider myself a huge fan of the series. I decided to give 4 a try after it was offered at a discount during the holidays and ended up enjoying it. I would not say it's a great game but it was fun and the single player story was much better than I expected. A couple of notes for fans of the series...the voice actor for Frank West is different which will upset some players. After the first the first few cut scenes I didn't notice and by the time the game was over I ended up enjoying the changes they made to the character. The time limits from previous games has also been removed. This didn't bother me but I can see it being a deal breaker for some since it does remove some of the tension the original games had and it also potentially reduces the replay value. I will say there are more "secrets" hidden in the game and if you want to find everything it will take you 25-30 hours or more depending on your play style. Finally, multiplayer has been changed and is now a stand alone mode rather than campaign co op. Multiplayer did nothing for me but it might be fun with the right group.

I've played every dead rising and I enjoy this one the most. They did away with the timer completely which really made it better, you can now freely explore and enjoy all those crazy weapons. If you liked dead rising 1 then you'll love this game! The weapons are crazier than ever, the dialog is very funny and the story is great.

I very much enjoyed Dead Rising 4. There's a solid core plot, and many optional side-quests that appear for a limited amount of time. And completing all of these involves running around slaughtering the undead or psychopathic humans with almost any object in the world. You can also build combo weapons in order more easily dispatch your enemies. Combo weapons and vehicles allow for more ludicrous attacks. It's hard to express the satisfaction of taking out dozens of zombies at once with an axe taped to a sledgehammer, swung in insane circles. These gain extra Prestige Points when used on zombies, helping Frank to level up. I found that boss fights were a little better in Dead Rising 3, but they're still engaging and fun in Dead Rising 4. The fights can sometimes prove to be weird and unexpected, and that is a welcome feature. The autosave function is very good as well. The old DR games had terrible save features, and this game has perfected that feature. After spending 20+ hours with Dead Rising 4, I can't recommend the game enough.

This game is a lot of fun getting to revisit being sarcastic Frank West again. So there IS a lot of humor, and it's fun to go around killing tons of zombies with a variety of wacky combinations of weapons. Now when I say there are a lot of zombies, I mean there are a LOT. It's kind of amazing how many the console can render and work with at once. The story is a little cheesy, the controls can be hard to use quite often, but all in all it's a fun game to play. If you liked other Dead Rising games, you'll like this one as well. Bonus for it being Christmas time in the game, so hearing Christmas carols while you are slaughtering a hundred zombies is kind of a fun juxtaposition.

Got this as a gift and it quickly was purchased by my two kids so the three of us can do the co-op missions. Very fun to unleash mayhem on some very interesting zombies. Somewhat open world and the variety of weapons can be devastating and comical at times.
