Scary movie that reminds you of the game! I liked it.

This movie is amazing. It takes place before the events of the 1st dead space game. Definitely worth the watch for any dead space fans.

If you love the dead space games and want a little more this is a solid buy that adds some insight leading to the first game.

Good very gore and bloody movie adaptation of the previous encounters before the first game

Dead Space: Downfall is what it says: the prequel to the video game. I was expecting a complete CGI animated film but it's a mix of CGI and what appears to be traditional cell animation, (although some CGI can look like cell animation). It has a decent story arc and is very graphic (bloody). The picture: A good clean render, a little on the dark side but has even color and good flesh tones. Blacks are good and solid throughout with decent detail in the shadows. The sound: Currently I'm only using my two channel system but the downmix sounds very good with some deep bass, clear and centered dialog and a wide dynamic range. Can't wait to play it again when I get my surround system hooked up again. Conclusion: It may not be for everyone, but if you like this kind of stuff, it can be really cool. Reccomended for fans a the game and people who like adult animation with violence, lots of violence.

Great lead up story into the game. Looks and sounds amazing..with a bonus photo slide of art concept shots from the game as well as a digital copy bonus disc...sweet. I don't why the other reviewer gave it a one star..I completely disagree. I'm a gamer, have been following this game for months and am satisfied with the game and this movie. You will not be disappointed with either. Oh and I gave the plot a deserving 3 stars only b/c what is up with the main character not being the dude that the story truly followed in the 6 part comic series that just ended this month (October). The chic just gets annoying after a while....luckily all other squad members surrounding her make up for her demeanor. word.

Looks like I'm one of the few that has only enjoyed the Dead Space movies and not any of the games so I won't be commenting on those. As others have mentioned, this series runs heavily on the graphic side with a lot of cursing. Don't have a problem with that at all, though! Just don't let the youngsters see this. Your basic plot is that humanity is exploring the reaches of outerspace and finds an artifact on a mining colony. Contact or just being near to the artifact begins to drive those around it insane. Most end up killing themselves. Once dead, they reanimate as deformed, ravenous monsters. Dead Space has a much grittier feel to it than your standard anime. Don't expect any slapstick comedy. This movie is filled entirely with horror, suspense, and zombie/human killing. Must have if you love a good horror movie.

Watching this movie can make you want to play the game. Great storyline and really makes the game shine. They recently announced a prequil to Dead Space on the wii (dead space extraction), which follows the events before the necromorphs take over, which is exactly what this movie is about. You might hold off on this movie if you want the dead space extraction game to be a surprise. Definatley for mature audiences only. HIgh gore and strong language.

This was a fun movie to watch. I just recently even discovered the Dead Space universe, but I love it. This movie explained a few things that I was wondering about after playing the game. It was sad to see the main lady die because she was such a strong character. If you are a fan of Dead Space, this is a must buy!

I thought it was very well put together. I dont really think that it really matters whether you get it on Dvd or Blu-Ray because it is a cartoon, but if you liked the game then definitely pick this up.

I've been playing the game for about four hours, and I just recently watched the animated movie. This movie will give you an excellent background on the storyline of the game. Fantastic idea from EA to put this together.

It is the animated version of Aliens. Very good story line. DVD extras show a sample of the video game which is creepy. Curse words are common in this film. Hopefully a sequel will follow.

This does help alone the lines of understanding the game. The movie drops the F-bomb a lot so watch rating on this.

This is a great movie if you like Dead Space. The animation is great and the plot leads right into the game!!!

This movie is very gory and a great story both the movie and the game fit prefect together. A must BUY!!!

Based on the Xbox game by the same name, don't waste the money on the bluray,it will look just as bad on regular dvd

It just did not make any sense. It would have been better if I just watched paint dry.
