Super loud and crystal clear voices. I had a soundbar that was replaced with this and there is absolutely no comparison. Dialogue is so clear, I can't believe I stayed with a soundbar for so long.

This is a great sounding center channel. The bass, midrange and treble performance is very good. It also looks good but could be even better. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars Is because of the grill design. The speaker does not have a removable grill over the speakers. The grill material wraps from the bottom around the front, top, back and continues back to the bottom where it’s fastened together. It has two side panels that are removable. These panels hide where the speaker material is attached to the wood. It would have been better with black wood grain and a removable grill on the top and front not two panels on the sides. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase.

Listened to the Definitive Technology Center channel speaker in the Magnolia studio at our local BestBuy, and was very impressed with how well it brought forward the movie dialogue when compared to comparable speakers in the same price range. Really adds to our movie enjoyment.

This was an open box item. When it arrived the box was not in bad shape. The speaker was flawless. This is a great center speaker and for a great price. This one does not have the power subwoofer but the vocals are very clear. using it for my center channel speaker. It is a very large speaker and the top should be open and not enclosed in a TV stand If you like bargains, Best buy open box deals are hard to beat.

It's a very good center speaker I did not want to go with the larger that had the built-in subwoofer so this was a great choice. Sound and dialogue during movies or television made this worth it highly recommended.

Fits nicely into our scheme of things and has excellent sound with good musical notes and easily heard speech. Thus far our problem has been integrating it into the surround sound speakers for all of our equipment entities, including the new 85" Samsung. That may have been a time factor with the installation. It may be due to the old RCA connections on much of the equipment. Best Bug Geek Squad will be back to complete the work.

Overall very happy but I do think it is about 20% overpriced. None the less a nice speaker. Collects dust very well is the only other downside.

I finally got the Ways and Means to build the perfect stereo for myself finally got older and I wanted audiophile quality so I bought the standard definition 9020 speakers a big O Yamaha 1200 W amp in bed just really sounds great I would recommend a Best Buy is Magnolia room to anybody . The service at my local store is very prompt in with it they know my name and they always make sure I have what I want when I leave thank you regards Paul

This center channel is the perfect match with the definitive Technology bp9520 tower speakers.i am very happy with this system.the sound is totally immersive and clear .

When you know this is the most essential speaker in any sound system, you will appreciate the true range and quality that the CS series delivers with the integrated bass. I also purchased the CS-9080 for another room because I did not have a high-end subwoofer for even greater range. My CS-9040 works wonderfully with the SVS-PB3000 that I also purchased from Best Buy thanks to Bill Morrison from the Home Theater department at the Springfield location - a great AV consultant I would recommend you ask for before making any high-end audio purchases!

This is by far the best speaker I have ever heard. I zeroed in on this speaker after researching several center channel speaker. Specific Reason for the choice was it’s high frequency sound and lower frequency sound like male vocals are clear, thanks to the 8 inch bass radiator.

Excellent sound and quality build. Great match for my DT BP9080x front speakers.

Awesome sound good clarity, great bass and a must have if you are going to watch action movies.

Recently upgraded all my 30 year old Definitive Technology speakers, and replaced my old C1 center speaker to the new 9040 to match my new BP9040 towers. Am so impressed over how much better the movie center dialog is over my old one. Can never go wrong with Definitive Technology Products.

It works really good, it has great bass and reproduces vocals very well. Overall it sounds really good for a center channel speaker.
