Just what we needed. A more up to date laptop that can handle Windows 10. It has a faster processor, more RAM and an SSD. It works fine and the cosmetics are good for a refurb. Nice value.

JV59,
Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear that your computer's battery life is not lasting longer for you. We'd recommend the following tips to help extend your computer's battery life:
Change the Power Plan:
1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
2. On the options list, click Power Options.
3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.
d) Additional settings available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver feature.

I purchased this laptop for my daughter and it’s amazing. A little heavy in weight but other than that, meets all our needs.

It would have been a great buy, only the laptop came with a drained battery and either a bad AC/DC adapter or the wrong one. The adapter didn't charge the laptop. The one that came with it was 19.5v @ 4.62amp while the original would have been 19.5v @ 3.32 amp. I called the tech support line and held for 15 minutes only to be dropped to voice mail. 6 hours later no reply from the company that refurbished the machine. As luck would have it, we have been using Dell laptops for a very long time and I had a correct and working AC/DC adapter. One would think that a refurbished laptop would be more rigorously tested before sale. But as the laptop wouldn't charge at all and the battery was 5 minutes from death, I think it reasonable to assume little to know QA is done prior to shipping. UPDATE - After calling the number a 4th time I got a customer service representative. He offered to replace the AC/DC adapter with the same adapter.
