To put this review into perspective, I have used the Rift, Vive, AND PSvr. Out of them the Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) Head mounted display (HMD) has the best resolution out of all of them. All HMD has a sweetspot and within that sweetspot the clarity from the higher resolution is apparent, with that said, the sweetspot is SO SMALL if you have an IPD of 68mm or bigger. The Dell HMD IPD is 64mm which is WAY too small me (71mm IPD) BUT, your eyes and brain will get used to the small IPD but as I said that sweetspot will just be smaller so the very center will be very clear while going towards the outside its more blurry, thats just how fresnel lens works. I've noticed people complaining about tracking which gets me to thinking if they got it setup right. For ALL WMR headsets, because it uses inside-out tracking with its low resolution black and white cameras to see VISIBLE light, you need PROPER lighting conditions. You need good CONTRASTING (color and definition) floor and walls so that it can properly map out the area. The beauty of these inside-out tracking is that there is no need for external sensors, its literally plug and play. As for controller issues, they are connected via Bluetooth. Bluetooth is bandwidth limited and these controllers put out a lot of tracking data, you NEED to disable anything thats paired up to the computer bluetooth. I have played for a continuous hour on Rift and my hand never felt discomfort other than sweat. The WMR controller on the other hand just feels.....like a vive controller, its a big too big and that large ring doesnt make playing H3VR, PAVLOV, or Onward any easier as it sometimes interferes with you reloading or sliding the bolt back. The touchpad I think is too sensitive, but then again its smaller than the Vive so thats a given. The thumbsticks are good but not RIFT good, my right thumbstick actually has a defect I guess on it where if I thumb up it feels like its stuck on something but when I force it more you hear a click and it goes to to its maximum reach. I'd have to take it apart and look into that. As for battery life I am using rechargable nimh and so for after 20 or so hours theres still power left. I absolutely HATE built in batteries like the PS4 controllers, I rather have swappable batteries than having to let it sit and charge with me waiting to play. WHO WANTS TO WAIT!!!!! The straps are really really comfortable and I love the color white this has, the major downside and why its a 4 out of 5 is because of the strap mechanism and the audio. The strap mechanism is entirely plastic and it will wear out. Mines wouldn't lock anymore so I had to disassemble the back strap and bend the plastic tabs so it will lock again. If you play with the strap a lot it will cause wear and tear fast. The other downside is the audio, there is NO audio. You need a headset with a 3.5mm jack. Phone headsets are your best bet because of the inclusion of integrated mics. Its cumbersome to have the headset cable hanging along with the HMD cables. When setup, once you plug in a headset, ALL audio will divert to the headset unless you setup audio mirroring in the mixed reality software. As for supported software, theres basically two storefronts you should look at, Steamvr and Oculus Rift (Needs REVIVE software) If anybody has any questions, just ask.

Although it is the lightest Mixed reality headset but its not comfortable for longer use. The wire is heavy and I feel it would have been better if its a little longer.

it is more comfortable than rift and other mr headset, for sure. and the connection is way easier. only down side is lack of contents. not much game can be played. but i think microsoft will try to make this product better in the future. so if wants to play good vr games now, get vive. if wants to have a comfortable mr headset for casual use, get dell.

As a PSVR owner for about 6 months, I was skeptical of Windows Mixed Reality, but after receiving a free Dell Visor with my PC purchase over the holidays, I was quickly won over by it's ease of use and quality of build. The Visor itself is similar to the PSVR in how it fits on your head, but from time to time it loosens during use and that can be annoying. The visuals are crisp and clear and the motion controllers are fantastic! The true winner is the ease of use, you can literally be in VR less than 5 minutes after taking this thing out of the box. I especially love the amount of things your can do with a PC VR over a PSVR (Although I still LOVE my PSVR). I use it with an I-7700 16 gb 1070 gtx so keep that mind. If your computer can't handle VR it wont matter what MR headset you get.

Beats the PS4 VR hands down, the headset is light and much more comfortable to wear then the other VR systems I have used, the display is great, controllers work beautiful but they do go through batteries on the quicker side, now with steam supporting WMR plenty of games available

Hard to say as this is my first headset. Good quality, great visuals, but can get blurry on the edges. No built in sound so you have to wear headphones (annoying).

Too early to call it a competitor to other VR headsets out there including the oculus. I dont understand what constitutes "premium" as advertised by dell but everything about the headset is run of the mill quality. Controller do feel premium though but the functionality wise not so much. I like the field of view and the cushion complements it well to make sure less light seeps through. I feel dell could have invested more into the overall "futuristic ready" product design if they feel like competing in this tight space.

This headset is out just for the nature of the V/R / M/R trend right now. it is the better looking headset from the new M/R line. But, the HP adjusts a tiny bit better. The resolution is not there yet. You can see pixels, so it's not a product someone expects in late 2017. Pixels are supposed to be invisible already. But you can see for yourself. Also, the field of view is too narrow. Future headsets including a wider angle and smaller pixels are yet to be seen in 2020's. So far, consoles will provide a better general experience.

This headset actually surprised me. I was expecting it to be less comfortable than it is, but it feels pretty good and is fun to use. I will say that the only downside is that the headband portion make it near impossible to use on/over ear headphones with putting them on upside down or tilted lower than the band at the back of your head. Otherwise, using this is a good experience.

Looking for higher resolution than the Vive and the oculus? His headset costs less, has trackers and can do room scale (good lighting needed). With a 1440x1440 per eye screen, the screen door effect is nearly forgettable. Fits most glasses,works with steam vr. If you want vr on your PC, and it can handle it, get this headset

Bought this one during BF, pared with the Dell laptop. Comfortable to wear.

The graphics are nice. The only problem is it could be lighter so it’s more comfortable.

The visual feeling is so real. I'm almost lost in the world of VR. The headset is a little bit heavy but it's ok for a man. The real issue is the hardware requirement. You need have outstanding hardware to fit this headset.

It's actually pretty good. The number of games is limited, but hopefully the library/catalog will expand in the coming months.

I got this with my Desktop PC purchase... nice GTX 1080 VR ready desktop. I installed the mixed reality updates and hardware.. took about an hour to setup with all the updates, etc. It appeared to work but the display resolution was very pixelated on a 1080 graphics card. Upped the quality in the settings (High Quality Beta and High), both really did not improve the quality. I rebooted thinking it would maybe be cause... no it was not. I thought the quality of the same headset in the store was better. I am returning for Samsung Mixed Realty Headset or Oculus Rift. Diappointing since this was an early Xmas gift.

Optics are not the best, but the price is right for this HMD

Amazing interaction compared to ordinary gaming devices/console/PC... It would be very interesting to try out the new things, though they all contain some imperfection at first.
