Great espresso machine! I definitely recommend it!
I’ve had this little espresso maker for quite a while now with zero problems. It’s easy to program the heat settings, as well as the amount of liquid per shot! Very user-friendly, and very easy to take care of! It makes it great Americano! The frother works wonderfully as well :-) I’ve use this machine for between four shots and 16 shots every day since I bought it! This one thing has been a trooper and never once had a problem. It tells you when it’s time to clean the scaling, which is a very simple process. It takes a few minutes but, it’s worth it

DeLonghi Dedica
This is an expensive little machine but it does make really good espresso and espresso latte's; I do have a Krups burr grinder now which probably helps the quality as well. Some immediate drawbacks to this machine include: extracting the perforated filter inside the 1 and 2 cup holders; most of the time I have to use a needle nose pliers to pull it out after disposing of the used coffee grounds. The little tab to pull on to pull out the filter is too small to grasp onto without using some kind of device and I don't have large hands and fingers. Second issue....I haven't had to descale the machine, as I haven't had it that long, but the fact that you have to use the liquid (that DeLonghi initially provides) is a drawback considering that vinegar or vinegar water would probably work as well but using anything else besides their product voids your warranty. Third issue...although this comes with the territory....cleaning the water spout/frother...hard to remember to pull it apart daily to clean! Fourth issue; this machine costs $380.00 which seems on the high side for a non commercial product. On the upside, having the Cappuccino maker selection ring with two settings (hot milk vs. froth) is a nice feature as using the froth feature alone doesn't seem to heat the milk up enough so I switch between the two to make a latte.

Terrific Espresso maker
This really is an excellent espresso maker. The espresso is consistently very tasty and fairly simple to make, the spout that heats the milk also works well.

Disappointed
For a $300 espresso machine, I can't believe how cheesy this feels. I'd used the previous model at a friend's house and loved it, and waited for this model to become available because of the ability to fit a mug under it and what I thought were a few other bells and whistles. The older model felt much more solid. Even the pump mechanism on this sounds like it might wear out any minute — on the first use. I expected better quality from this company. They don't even include a brush to whisk coffee crumbs from the boiler area, and the plastic tamper feels so weak, it might break if you put enough pressure on it. I'm also afraid I'm going to snap off the flimsy-looking prongs that hold the tank in place if I pull it wrong — which seems easy to do. And I've yet to produce a shot of espresso that looks nice and dark, with a good head of crema. They're still looking rather muddy and flat. That may be on me, but I'm not a first-timer with cappuccino machines.
