Overall it's a good machine but i think it has some flaws that hopefully get addressed in the next version.It's great if you like having control of how strong your coffee is. This is not a good machine if you like using already ground coffee everyday. It's messy and tricky. You can't just dump coffee in the hole. You have to press buttons in a sequence or else it just dumps the unused grounds. Its a lot of work for one cup using grounds. The absolute Best use for this machine is using beans. The spent pucks fill up the storage fast and they aren't hard solid pucks so don't expect that. The water tank should be bigger in my opinion. I use it every day and the taste of my coffee is amazing. the ice coffee feature is great. Once you figure out the quirks I think you will love it.

Excellent option for a simple operation Coffee Machine. The experience of smell and taste of coffee is great. 4 star only because it requires a daily cleaning and mantainance, but it worths the investment.

After about a month of use, and currently sipping caribou’s mahogany blend of coffee I can’t rave enough about this machine. First the negative about this machine: •It is loud, between having to grind the beans and the brew cycle it is a little bit noisy. •you need to clean it regularly, about once a week •the parts that require cleaning do feel cheap and are plastic (not a big problem in my opinion). • the internal parts can be messy and hard to clean. The Positives: •It holds a full pound of whole bean coffee. •it has an optional port for ground coffee •the fresh bean to cup feature is absolutely amazing and brews from 3oz to 24oz. •it has multiple brew types from light, gold, bold to Ice brew. •the roasted freshness is unspeakable, it even has an optional coffee temperature setting. •it filters the water based on a hardness scale tester (included in the box) In summary if you don’t mind keeping up with wiping down the machine and cleaning the parts regularly this coffee pot is for you. I highly recommend it to any coffee enthusiasts from just learning to the connoisseur.

I’m very impress with this machine. You don’t need filters, just add your coffee beans or ground coffee add water into the container and select your size and strength than brew. For over 30 years I’ve been buying filters for my coffee machine than this magical machine says you don’t need to buy filters just add your coffee beans and water and it will do all the work. The cleaning was just as easy, slide the front face out and all your coffee grinds are in a container that you take to your plant and add to the soil. Talk about green support. For me it was worth every dollar. Just don’t forget that there’s no robot to discard the used coffee and waste after, it need to be removed by a human. So there is some work.

The best Coffee Maker and very easy to use. Beans to cup from the conviniet of your own kitchen. Coffee is better than any coffee shop.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this machine. I have wanted a really good coffee machine. I had been reading reviews and finally took the plunge. No regrets. I have had the machine for several months and haven’t had any issues. I love the fresh ground smell and the coffee taste so good.

Coffee maker worked great for 1 month and 3 days, then it threw a red warning light meaning it needed cleaning. I tried to remove the infuser per the manual for cleaning and the device won't release it (its release mechanism is controlled by the coffee maker, there is no mechanical release for it). I poke to Delonghi support and did a video call with them to troubleshoot - they determined that the unit was defective but given that its 3 days outside of the 30 day 'replace with a new one' warranty period I have to send the unit back in for repair instead of an outright replacement. A $500 coffee maker which fails in 1 month and 3 days should at the very least be RMA'd right away with a new unit, Its pretty clear to me after working through all the trouble shooting steps with their suppoer, that this unit is an overly complicated mechanical design with lots of moving parts inside combined with software controls that if all the stars don't align, won't release a serviceable component for cleaning. I am very disappointed with Delonghi and won't be buying another coffee maker from them, only giving it 2 vs. 1 stars since for the month it did work; it was amazing but I have little to no confidence given its design it would last very long.

Great idea, but a serious design flaw! A leak every time you make a cup of coffee…and,a mess from the grounds! You almost need to open and wipe up the mess everyday! I calledDeLonghi for the second time today. I was finally told this has been a problem they are working on! $500…where does this leave those who have purchased it NOW? Do not believe the great reviews…does make good coffee, but it’s a mess and this company has got to fix this!

I wanted to love this machine. It would have been perfect for our household. I wanted to buy it from Best Buy because of the awesome total care coverage and I know these things can break with lots of moving parts. I bought online and drove 45 mins each way to pick up in store. Unboxed and discovered I had a previously used machine (a bean shot out for the first water cycle and there was residue on the brewing unit). Whoever packed it up did a nice job, kudos to them, but you can return it without lying FYI. Since it was used, I went ahead and gave it a spin. The coffee tasted ashy and bitter. Like diner coffee but I’m using tried and true A+ beans, right. The 3oz bold option was the only option didn’t pour down the sink. I thought maybe this is why they returned it, it’s a lemon machine- let me be an optimist and give it a fair shot because a large percentage of the reviews say it’s the bomb. SO I drove another 1.5 hours round trip to exchange... for another USED machine. I can’t make this up. This one was damaged and missing parts. Also wrapped up like it was brand new so this makes me think something is going on. I called Delonghi to make sure this wasn’t standard protocol and they said no. Anyway, round 2 machine still managed to turn my A+ beans into diner coffee. It doesn’t get hot enough and this thing is obviously not meant to be on my countertop. It’s like it doesn’t have enough brew time. It starts dispensing as a nice dark brown and 1/2 way through the 8 oz (strong) brew option it’s almost clear. It was not a pain to clean like a lot of reviews say. I didn’t have grinds or water everywhere so not sure if that’s operator error or what. If you decide you have to try it, order online, have it shipped and pull the machine apart prior to using it. Or just save ~$500 and don’t.

The De'Longhi TrueBrew Automatic Single Serve Coffee Maker with Bean Extract Technology - has a few good things going for it. Firstly, would be the integrated coffee grinder, this is a great feature in a single serve coffee maker and ensures you always have a fresh tasting cup of coffee, it cannot be overstated that this IS the reason why the coffee produced is first rate. The unit itself is pretty tall (almost 16 inches), so placement may be an issue for smaller kitchens, also it is not a whisper quiet unit, the grinder understandably makes a decent amount of noise along with some of the other mechanics of the unit. The unit comes with a few extras, including a water hardness testing strip, a 4oz. sampler of coffee beans, ground scooper (yes, you can also brew with pre-ground coffee) and a descaler. The unit has an intuitive front control panel which includes a clock display, coffee cup size selection (3, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24 ounces) strength setting, over ice mode. The water reservoir sits on the side and holds up to 64 ounces of water. In addition you can program the unit to automatically brew each morning (although this understandably needs to be setup each night prior and don’t use add pre-ground coffee without the unit being powered on). Again the coffee from this unit tastes awesome, at least the standard brews, there is a Expresso setting, but frankly I was not impressed with that result as it wasn’t really frothy enough. Not exactly maintenance free or easy, when adding the coffee grounds it can be a bit messy, grounds were all over the input funnel, the scooper needs to be redesigned for better ability to put inside it in manually, perhaps instead of a rounded shape a square or triangular would make sense. In general, this is not a cleanup every few weeks unit, due to the grinder there are coffee remnants all over the inside of the unit, a bit more than I expected. On the back of the drip tray are two waste containers, one for disposal water, the other for used coffee grounds. It does compress the grounds into little circular cakes, but they still fall apart and it take some effort to completely clean the waste containers. I recommend you do not place this on any counter where coffee remnants could leave a permanent stain, so some type of protective material between the counter and coffee maker might be in order. Overall this is another decent brew experience from DeLonghi, but if you are a bit of a neat freak the unit may add to your stress level given some of the challenges keeping it tidy or the frequency you need to clean the unit.

Don’t do it! I’ve gone through three returns of this machine. Finally kept the last one and it leaks everywhere and creates mold. Contacted the company about it since it’s in warranty and they told me to move the coffee maker to a less “humid” area and to let parts dry. How will any of this help prevent it from shooting wet grounds everywhere and leaking all over the counter? For 600 dollars we have a moldy paper weight that the company refuses to replace. I will be contacting BBB next.

I love the machine overall especially the ice feature for iced coffee.

PROS: - One touch coffee. No filter, no cleanup, no measuring - Brews delicious coffee - Whole beans or pre-ground options - Brew setting options - Grinder built in - includes a lot of useful extras: beans, descaler, scoop, hard water tester CONS: - always a mess to clean. Coffee grounds everywhere inside - Water tank isn’t very big - “espresso” setting is not even close to espresso - the used grounds and water needs to be emptied often. (about every 10th 12 oz cup) - Larger size and loud start up/clean cycle - doesn’t make as many ounces and it says. ie 12 oz makes about 10 maybe 11 most times I really want to like this coffee maker but right now it’s just more of a pain than a gain. I'm truly sitting at a 50/50 hence the 3 stars. I think the cup of coffee made is 5 star quality, but the machine is just not quite what I want it to be. I enjoy the coffee that it makes and I enjoy the hassle free way it makes coffee. Being able to just select my size, brew, and press go is very convenient but I know it’s just dumping grounds all over inside and making a big mess for me to clean later (and often). I’ve used the machine for a week now with just one person using it for about 1 to 2 cups a day and I’ve had to clean it 2 times already in 7 days. This wouldn’t be a big deal if it was easier to clean and take apart, but as you can see from the photos, as soon as I take the front cover off, there’s coffee grounds everywhere and it’s running down onto the wood surface it’s sitting on. Now imagine having to do that 2 to 3 times a week PER PERSON. You have two people drinking? Now you’re doing 4 to 5 cleanings a week, or almost every day cleaning that mess. I’d rather just have to take the filter out and dump the grounds for every use. At least that’s easier. Now, could this be one of those things that with time becomes easier to do? Perhaps. I hope so. But for now it’s just a feeling of dread every time I use it. I also realize others may experience less cleaning needs, it all depends on how much you use it, what brew style you choose, etc. But when the machine says you need to clean (red indicator icon) then you need to clean. It won’t brew until you do. I usually made 12 oz and medium (gold) brew. Ok, so with that bummer stuff out of the way, how does it function? Well…pretty good. Usually. I have had a few cups come out 2 to 3 ounces short of the set number. (I used a measuring cup for testing purposes and included that in the photos as well.) But other times I would get pretty close; within an ounce, but never over the selected number. I think this may have to do with the discarded water used to “clear the lines” and then stored inside the machine with the used grounds. But once that coffee hits the cup, it really is a good cup of coffee. Even just using the beans included in the packaging was good coffee. Now, I’m not a coffee snob by any means, I only really know when it’s good and when it’s not so good, but I’ll drink anything. That said, I do like the way this coffee maker makes a more “heavy” brew. It’s almost creamy. When I used the “espresso” size and brew, I thought Delonghi would be able to make a pretty good espresso style, however when I put it next to an 8 ounce bold brew from the machine and blind tasted them, I couldn’t tell the difference. If you’ve ever had espresso before, you’ll know this isn’t the same thing. But like I said, I’m no coffee snob so maybe I just can’t tell the difference. OVERALL: So what’s the verdict here? For 500 dollars is it worth all the little annoying things like missing the mark on ounces or spilling grounds all over inside? Honestly, I don’t think so. Does it make a great cup of coffee hassle free? Yes, a very good cup of coffee. If the cleaning doesn’t sound like a big deal to you, or you’re used to this kind of coffee making process and you got 500 to throw around, then you might be happy with it. But if you’re looking for a coffee maker that also makes espresso from a top brand in the espresso game, or a no mess no fuss coffee maker you don’t have to clean often then this might disappoint you. Time will tell if I come around and start to enjoy this machine, but right now it feels a bit overpriced for what it does, if I saw it on sale for 300 or so I think I’d be more interested.

Select the strength of your beverage by selecting light, gold, bold, over ice button. Place a cup in the cup holder and start brewing by pressing the button. It also has an option to brew pre-ground coffee. Follow above steps of selecting the type and strength. Once brew is pressed, the measuring spoon icon blinks. Add the pre-ground coffee into the funnel and start brewing. Control panel has notifications like low bean light that flashes when the hopper runs low on beans or the water light notification when the water on the reservoir is low. It also displays Time on top of control panel and next to it is AM/PM selector and auto ON light. It has size selector, type, brew, setting menu, scroll and descale button. To make one, select the over ice option by pressing type button until the over ice light comes on. Place a cup with ice cubes and select the type and press brew to enjoy the cold coffee. One of the great features is Auto ON function. With this setting, you can select a time when to brew at a certain time. This is great to wake up with fresh brewed coffee smell. I had tried for few days with my Ember smart cup for my morning schedule and so far, works great. Only thing is the auto on function turns off once the coffee is brewed. You will need to turn on for next day by pressing and holding the auto on button next to the time display for 3 seconds to activate for next day. Easy to Use: This coffee machine is incredibly easy to use with its intuitive touch screen interface. Easy to Clean: This coffee machine is also very easy to clean. Coffee grounds container needs to be cleaned periodically and there is an icon on the control panel that display when its full. Remove the tray assemble, empty the grounds container and clean thoroughly. It’s suggested to clean every 3 days to avoid fungus or mold growth. This makes it simple to keep the machine looking and functioning like new. Also, recommend cleaning the infuser once a month. Follow the directions and make sure it is cleaned. When cleaning the infuser, you can also descale the machine or when the descale light is on the control panel. Descaling will take about 30 minutes to complete, and it depends on the hardness of the water you use. For better tasting coffee always use purified water and set the machine according to the level of hardness. Right out of the box the De'Longhi looks impressive, it comes in either matte black or stainless and I got the stainless to go with the rest of my kitchen. In front of the TrueBlue the control panel looks great and it has soft touch buttons and the instructions are easy to follow. It also comes with the measuring cup, manual and fresh coffee beans. I really like the approach from De'Longhi on this machine, it only uses the fresh coffee beans and it does not create plastic waste, it does not even need filters that end up in the garbage. The TrueBrew can brew six different sizes 3oz, 8oz, 12oz, 16oz, 20oz and 24oz. And it also has different Styles and they are: light, gold, bold, expresso style and over ice so we can vary every day. When it starts to work the room is filled with the fresh coffee aroma and it is an excellent way to start the day. And I can set it to Auto-On and set it to turn on at a certain time the next morning, so I know my coffee is done at that time I want. I also like how the machine has 3 temperature settings from low, medium and high. I like the Auto Clean function since it takes the wasted coffee and places it on a condensed puck so I can dispose of it as compose as plant food. Room for improvement is perhaps the water tank; I wish it was a bit bigger. I do have a small vacuum that I use to clean the machine so it is easy to do so every week, I like to keep it clean. Overall I really like the coffee, no more waste and the timer.

I really wanted to give this coffee maker 5 stars but there were a couple of little things that made go with four stars instead. The coffee maker looks very large, but honestly doesn't take up more space than a traditional coffee maker. It is however pretty tall so make sure it will fit under your cabinet. It was very easy to setup and get working. It does have a built-in clock along with a timer so you can have fresh coffee in the morning without having to do anything. It only has a few buttons to change number of ounces, brew type, and pre-ground coffee option. Also has a fold down shelf so you can put a coffee mug on it to avoid coffee splashing out when brewing. With the shelf lifted up you can fit a 24-ounce thermal coffee mug under it. So you do have plenty of options for what size coffee works best for you. I do like this coffee maker a lot, and love that is pretty much an all-in-one coffee device. Its great you can use pre-ground coffee or whole beans. I have tried both options and the whole bean coffee taste better than pre-ground. The coffee comes out amazing hot but not boiling and has a very fresh taste. I also noticed that there was little to no acidity with the coffee, compared to my old coffee pot using the same coffee I had more acid which upset my stomach. The De'Longhi made a great tasting cup of coffee even using cheap beans with little to no acidity. Once you click the power button to turn it off, it does run a self-cleaning process. It pushes the ground coffee into bin inside the machine, and runs fresh water through the machine to clean out the lines, the dirty water is also collected in the machine. So overall this makes a great cup of coffee and does a great job at its core function. This coffee marker has a couple of small issues that stopped me from giving it five stars. The first being, when you turn on the maker it runs a process for a minute or two and will not allow you to start brewing right away or even select the option you want. You have to wait for it to run its process first before you can do anything. So, if you are in a time crunch in the morning use the auto feature so it will brew without you having to wait or click the power button and go do something else then come back to select your brew. The second issue is the inside of the maker gets coffee grounds all over and can be a little messy. It is very easy to clean and wipe out the inside of the machine. If you decide to use pre-ground coffee, you have to pour or spoon it into a small hole in the top. De'Longhi provided a spoon, but the spoon is a little too big and spills the grounds around the hole instead of all it in the hole. Lastly the water tank is a little too small and requires me to fill it every other day. I normally use the 24-ounce brew and it takes up too much of the water. The tank should have been a little bigger to avoid having to fill a lot. Overall, I think it's a great machine that makes great tasting coffee. I'm probably being a little picky of the small issues as they wouldn't stop me from purchasing this great coffee maker. I just wanted to bring them up just in case it's a deal breaker for someone else. I'm very happy to have this maker and when people come over it will be great that they can select and make their own cup of coffee.

This coffee machine is an absolute game changer for coffee lovers. For starters, the ability to use fresh beans instead of pre-ground powder elevates the coffee experience to a whole new level. What surprised me the most was how quiet the machine is, given how powerful it is. In addition to using fresh beans, the machine also has a separate slot for fresh ground coffee which is a nice touch for those who have a particular blend they prefer. The speed of the machine is also impressive. It brews a cup of coffee in less time than my previous machine, without sacrificing quality. The stainless steel construction gives the machine a sleek and modern look that complements any kitchen decor. It's also very easy to use, with a user-friendly interface that guides you through the brewing process. This De'Longhi TrueBrew Automatic Single Serve coffee maker with bean extract technology is an excellent choice for coffee enthusiasts who appreciate the convenience of a single-serve machine, without sacrificing quality or flavor like some of the other style machines that use the cup situations. Highly recommend!

The quality of this machine is apparent the moment you unbox it. It's effortless setup and design makes it as easy to clean as it is to whip up a cup of your favorite joe. Im very impressed with the ease of use and overall it has been a wonderful experience. To start, I myself am a coffee fanatic, so owning a coffee maker is a no brainier. I'm pleased to say that this is the best choice I could've made. The TrueBrew is crafted with a suite of options like an espresso only mode, cup sizes ranging from 8 to 24 ounces and even a brew over ice mode. One thing to note is espresso mode is 3 ounces and requires a separate brew. The best thing about it, there's an auto setting! You simply set a time, assure your beans and water are stocked, and enjoy your pre scheduled coffee even when you're busy. It is also possible to use pre grounded coffee so whatever you prefer is perfectly fine. The TrueBrew cleans itself, believe it or not. After a few minutes of not using the machine it begins to auto clean and turns off, indicating it's no longer in standby. Though it's recommended to run a full clean cycle once a month. The different brewing options include light, gold and bold, for your desired strength. I was also surprised how quickly the grinding process was. Whole beans are stored on top of the unit and there is plenty of room for multiple brews before needing to refill it. You'll be able to easily identify which part of the machine needs attention based on the colored indicators on the front. For example, when water is low or the waste needs dispensing, it lights up red with the corresponding symbol. I can't express enough how great it is to have a cafe barista at your finger tips. I highly recommend the TrueBrew to anyone looking to upgrade their coffee making needs. DeLonghi has secured a part of my day to keep me caffeinated with minimal effort.

I have to admit, we started out LOVING this thing...it's compact, offers a great deal of flexibility, what seemed like an ideal way to get a fresh-ground cup of coffee without a lot of manual labor, and the results are simply spectacular, especially when using some quality coffee beans. But the more we used it, the more frustrating it became. Bottom line--on its face, the TrueBrew coffee maker offers a lot for the high price it commands, but the execution isn't as neat and tidy and streamlined as the instructions would lead you to believe, and we're starting to get tired of the constant cleanup that goes well beyond just emptying the bins for used grounds and disposal water. Out of the box, the TrueBrew looks like a coffee-lovers dream come true. The big draw is obviously the built-in coffee grinder--just keep the hopper filled with whole beans and when you're ready for your coffee (or you hit the programmed brew time on the clock), the machine grinds the beans for you before anywhere from a 3 oz to 24 oz serving of coffee comes steaming out. There's even a small fold-out shelf that allows you put smaller cups closer to the coffee spout to limit splashing while the unit itself is tall enough to accommodate most large coffee tumblers. The front panel offers some easy-to-read icons and labels for selecting a number of different cup sizes and brew strengths as well as special settings for espresso, brews suited to use over-ice, or even to make a serving with pre-ground coffee. De'Longhi did well to provide what feels like a premium ownership experience by including some water test strips with the device--once you test your water, you can adjust the coffee maker's water hardness setting to produce more ideal results with the water in your house. Brew temperature can also be adjusted to one of three water temps which is a welcome option if your coffee just never seems to be hot enough. You can mark the end of a brewing cycle with an acoustic signal (beep) or you can opt for silent operation. And best of all, you can program the coffee maker to grind your beans and brew your coffee with an auto-program feature that remembers all of your previous settings so you don't have to input a new brew size or strength setting every time you program the machine for later (my wife got particularly tired of having to select a strong 10 oz serving every time she used our other pod-based coffee maker). But things started to awry the more we dug into what it was like to live with the coffee maker for an extended period of time. First, there is a bit of a learning curve to the TrueBrew. For example, if you decide to use pre-ground coffee instead of whole beans, De'Longhi thoughtfully provides a scoop in the box, but you have to consult the manual for the number of scoops based on how many ounces you're brewing--once you hit the pre-ground button, a quick display on the clock that indicates the number of scoops needed based on serving size would have been more helpful. Speaking of using pre-ground coffee--whatever you do, don't add the grounds to the funnel ahead of time when the power is off--you know, like what most people who are prepping their machines for the next day might be likely to do? This can supposedly damage the damage the coffee maker. I would have never thought to turn the machine on just to load some grounds in the hopper had I not read that small note in the manual. You are also limited to brewing only 4 of the available 6 serving sizes when using pre-ground coffee. What about the end-of-cycle alarm? Do you want to silence the alert? The menu item for the alert is a PC-style speaker with an X in front of it--but that icon doesn't mean "mute" the way it does in most other contexts. In order to silence the alarm, you have to select the "mute" icon so that it's lit up, but if you want to hear the end-of-cycle alarm, you still select the same mute icon, but now it should be flashing--not exactly intuitive user design. There is descaler included in the box which is definitely appreciated, however, you'll need to be prepared to buy more De'Longhi-branded descaler down the road as there isn't a way to run a vinegar solution through the machine for a DIY cleaning/descaling, and using another brand descaler will apparently void the warranty. Okay, so it takes a bit to get used to and remember the various quirks and particulars of the machine, but there are other issues that are a bit harder to look past. First, the machine's power-up and power-down cycles are LOUD. Granted, there's a grinder on top, so I wouldn't expect it to be silent in operation anyway; but even just at power-up--priming the water pump and heater, getting the infuser ready to work, etc., the unit is loud enough that it would be disturbing to someone who might be in the next room. Next, the manual shows pictures of what looks like effortless cleanup--even the marketing materials for the TrueBrew machines on the De'Longhi website reads "No Mess, Zero Waste." Um...NOT EVEN CLOSE! On the backside of the drip tray assembly are two waste containers, one for used coffee grounds, the other for disposal water. The images suggest that the coffee grounds get compressed into neat little pucks and just tumble out of the container into the trash! Well, the grounds DO get compressed into little pucks, but they would only stay that way if you left them out in the sun to dry for a week or two. In the bin, what you actually get is a sticky pile of wet coffee grounds with one partially formed puck on top of the mound that is left over from whenever the last brew cycle finished. When you go to empty it, a lot of the wet grounds stay plastered to the interior walls of the bin and thus require manual cleaning. In the other bin is wastewater from the brew process. The problem is that it's not just water--it's LOADED with small coffee grounds as well; but because it's mostly water, you probably aren't just going to pour the bin out into the trash, but dumping the bin into your sink leaves hard little coffee grounds everywhere. Maybe even that wouldn't be so bad were it not for the fact that the interior of the coffee maker is perpetually a big hot mess. As the grinding wheel on top of the infuser chops up the coffee beans, dry grounds are thrown around everywhere--on top of the grinding wheel, in between the two waste bins, and somehow, they even collect underneath the drip tray assembly. This happened from the very first day we used the machine, but it also happens *every time* you brew a cup of coffee, so the longer you go without cleaning it, the more grounds will accumulate in places other than the coffee grounds bin. If you clean the machine after each use, it's not so bad, but after just a day or two of use (there are only two coffee drinkers in the house), I am having to use a small hand vac to get all the dry coffee grounds out of the bottom every time I empty the bins. Given the size of the water tank and how small the wastewater and coffee grounds bins are, I would bet you'll need to be cleaning out the machine almost daily, especially if there's more than one or two coffee drinkers using the TrueBrew. But worse still is the fact that the internal water drains seem to shoot water everywhere, not just into the waste-water bin. This creates an even bigger, stickier mess outside of the two waste bins, especially when the water mixes with the dried grounds that went sailing off the top of the infuser and worked their way down the outside of the waste bins or underneath the drip tray. During the last few uses, pulling out the drip tray just to empty the waste bins resulted in spreading nasty wet runoff thick with excess grounds all over the countertop. And because the grounds were no longer dry from all the interior water spray, it took several paper towels to scoop out the clumps of wet grounds that gathered in various corners and crevasses of the interior. Sorry, but an automatic coffee maker promising "No Mess" shouldn't require THIS much manual labor and daily cleanup. It's a shame because the TrueBrew really is a unique product with a great and convenient idea behind it; and it actually produces incredibly fine-tasting coffee that doesn't require a separate step or a separate kitchen appliance just to brew coffee-by-the-cup from freshly ground beans. But the execution and user experience leave so much to be desired that I can't see anyone being very happy with their purchase unless the ONLY thing they care about in the end is how the coffee tastes.
