Great power and sound for a resonable price. This receiver was very easy to set up and was packed with features. I am happy with my purchase!

So far, so good. I went through three RZ50’s in less than eight months before giving up on the brand and purchasing the x3800h. Night and day, folks! The front channel dialogue, surround sound immersion, and overall channel separation on the Denon is far superior to the Onkyo. The different menus and options were a bit confusing at first, but once dialed in everything has been great. I can finally kick back and enjoy my media without constant glitches and adjustments. Polk Sig Elite’s and a couple Emotiva BasX amps round out the 7.2.4. As a side note, I recommend spending the couple extra bucks on the Best Buy Members Plus program - it’s already saved me $300 on price matches/discounts. Thank you Best Buy and Denon!

Today marks the 2 weeks since I got the 3800. So far I’m really happy with it. Just waiting on the SVS SB1000 Sub, that I ordered the same day as the receiver and ps5 from Best Buy. Waiting for the Emotiva BASx 5 amp to add oomph to this already beastly sounding receiver

Works great! Just getting into the audiophile scene and this receiver provides clean rich sound. We listen about 50/50 movies/t.v and listening to music. The air play works flawlessly even with lossless or Hifi music. Currently running 5.2.2 with room to add more subs and upgrade system or add sound to another room. Only negative is you have to purchase the Dirac separately for room sound correction.

Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you are enjoying the receiver. Regarding Dirac, Audyssey room correction is included in the AVR-X3800H, and two versions of Dirac are available for select receivers as an option. Please see the attached link for further details. https://www.dirac.com/denon/ <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/denon.jpg" alt="denon" title="denon" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" />

Purchased the Denon to replace an older SC series Pioneer Elite that is still running strong but lacks some of the latest features including eARC, bluetooth, etc. Used 80 / 20 for home theater and music. Received some great input from Brady and Burke at my local store before deciding the go forward with the x3800h. Overall very happy with the Denon, impressed with Audyssey room correction and notable improvement especially to surround sound. HEOS integration makes streaming high quality music a breeze. Faced a few quirks with HDMI control / CEC where the receiver and TV would get into a 15+ second confused input loop of sorts at times, which is I understand is not uncommon among many manufacturers and units, and fortunately was able to use eARC without CEC enabled so problem solved. Strong configurability, good app, and fantastic sound allow me to easily rate this an excellent unit.

The top front had deep scratches i didn't realize wouldn't clean off until after the return period. The remote volume is very sensitive, and the on-screen menu is finicky and not very responsive at times. Other than that it is very nice. Lots of options. It sounds good. I love the 9 band equalizer and 2 speaker presents. I have speaker present 1 calibrated for movies and present 2 for music. It's definitely not perfect, but it is a nice receiver.

Replaced an almost 15yr old Yamaha with this unit. The opportunities with this thing seem endless. If you're reading this review you probably already know why you need this reciever. It's really great to have all of the hdmi 2.1 features for next gen gaming. Also to have all of the new audio codecs that my former unit didn't support. Setup on this is pretty involved, but I've had it a day now and I'm getting there. Sound is amazing! I run external amplifiers but the speakers sound so much more punchy and detailed with this Denon. On screen display is nice and clean, much better than the old 80's vcr look I was used to. After some more fine tuning, I pretty positive that I'll be happy with this receiver for the at least the next decade and hopefully more! Highly recommend!

Very happy with purchase. I am running 5.1 with 4 ohm speakers. Definitive Tech and KEF. The AVR does need some space to operate without overheating. 6 inches above etc. Also, not the the online manual does not tell you how to switch for 4,6,8 Ohm speakers. Had to search a forum to get details. Overall, very happy with purchase.

Didn’t think I needed this much power. It has replace another unit and sounds significantly better, thanks for listening to my needs and explaining to me what I was looking for after asking me questions about what I was trying to accomplish with this purchase.

Upgraded from a Onkyo TX-NR5100 and noticed an improvement in overall audio. I also added a second subwoofer which changed the lower experience as i don’t have to push the receiver louder now. 8k upscale is bonus!

This receiver is an excellent AVR in every way. It takes a few days to play with all the settings but once you get it set up, wow, what an upgrade. Enough power to drive our Wharfedale Linton Heritage speakers. Highly recommend. We love it!

5.1.4 set up, soon 10.1 paired with emotiva amp and speakers, 65" LG G2 using as processor, perfect pairings, great qualiry and sound for my use. Auro 3-d up mixer was a game changer for my room.

This thing is great. It’s power a whole house entertainment system. 6 sets of speakers, 1 center channel and a sub. I could even add another sub. If you have multiple speakers on zone 2, you might want to add an extra app for them to be louder.

Great Sound. Integrates with my Samsung 75 inch TV. Has several options for listening to music online
I bought the Denon brand new a month ago. I haven’t been able to use it. It hasn’t worked since geek squad installed the tv and receiver or remote . I’ve been getting excuses and delays from geek squad about my products. I paid cash for my products . I was billed for everything no discounts at all. My total tech membership elite does nothing for me. I was charged for my installation that wasn’t done correctly more than once I have to wait another month before I can use my products. It’s time to get rid of my total tech the benefits only cater to customers that need to use Best Buy credit cards. There’s more than one way to pay for products. I get no points and have to pay for everything seems like Best Buy has no loyalty to its customers based on how they pay. They have lost my loyalty as well.
