Looks great, sounds great and has all the latest features and codecs. Alexa integration is pretty weak but that’s about the only negative I can think of. I upgraded from a Denon 3300x mainly for the extra 2 channels so I can run a full 5.1.4 setup with Atmos. Haven’t really been able to tell much of a difference in Audio quality over the older unit but more channels and more power can’t be a bad thing!

I just upgraded my 6 year old high end Marantz receiver for this and I am impressed! The Heos app puts all your streaming services in one place. Movies are great with dolby atmos and music is well, musical. I'm sure some separates are better, but for the money, this Denon is great. Easy set up, tons of options to tweak as well.

I've never owned a Denon receiver. I've always been a Pioneer type of guy. I have a Pioneer Elite 7.2 receiver still but decided to go with this receiver to try something new. Read several reviews from online and the great help I got with several employee's at Best Buy. Once I got it hooked up to my new system and watched my first movie. I was blown away on the difference I heard with this receiver. It blew my Pioneer out of the water and would recommend this to anyone. I know the price is high but it went on sale 2 weeks after I bought it so saved some dough on that. So if you are deciding on Pioneer or Denon I would go with Denon. It has plenty of power to run my Klipsch speakers.

Purchased this receiver a month ago because I wanted to add more speakers to my config and needed something capable of Atmos. Setup was very easy and the receiver included a label kit for cables making disconnecting things a breeze. Very impressed with the Audyssey equalizer and the features of this receiver. Sound quality is great after running Audyssey calibration. Dynamic EQ is enabled by default and sounds great. DEQ increases bass and surround using an algorithm when listening below reference level to create a more cinema like sound. This is different from Dynamic Volume which uses algorithms to increase quieter dialog and limit louder sounds. For 4K, be sure to enable 4K Signal Fmt -> Enhanced in order to pass HDR, etc. There are a lot of other features and since everyone has a different room and speaker configuration, they are worth experimenting with.

Receiver in itself is great. Gives excellent sound and easy to navigate settings. Initial setup took some time since i needed to configure multiple zones, but after some sleuthing online it was easy to set up. Taking 1 star off because the app itself is old and could use an update

I am used to having had a nice surround sound system for lot's of years, but now with this new Denon Amp it has taken it to a whole new level. I am currently using it with 10 Klipsch speakers and set to run Dolby Atmos and 9.2 surround and it sounds great. Excellent Amp. Easy to set up, I especially like how it works with all the other components and smart TV, Fire TV, PS and Xbox, etc. Easy to set up and the remote app works well to easily change volume, settings, etc.

Needed to replace an old Sony AVR and needed to make managing inputs and control of a second zone easier. The Denon made all of this happen easily. Using this to control inputs from multiple digital and analog video inputs. No more switching of the TV inputs. Customization labels for the inputs are easy as well. The zone control is very easy both from the factory remote and from the Denon AVR app. We use zone 2 for outdoor speakers and the output has been extremely reliable when using the Airplay 2 function. The receiver allows for zone 1 to process and output a different source from what is being input to zone 2. The sound and power output from the internal amps is more than adequate to power a sophisticated Home Theater.

The Denon receiver continues to provide quality receivers. Besides the obvious added features compared to my Old AVR3808 CI, the sound output didn’t change much on my 5.1 Martin Logan surround setup. I am currently bypassing my video from PS4 pro, Oppo 4K player, and 4K Apple TV, so the focus here in my review is sound. The different sound settings are great and Atmos capability seems like a good option. However, my old Denon receiver sound output seems to still be up to date with today’s Denon products considering my current setup, so I am probably not due for the upgrade yet since I don’t have 7.1 or 9.2 setup and my bypassed video to my 4K LG OLED tv seems to be working just fine. I’ll continue running my old Denon AVR3808CI to the ground. 5 Stars because I am a happy Denon receiver customer with old product and new product. Very consistent solid product and worth the investment considering that it will not be outdated much, 10 years from now.

Heard great reviews both in store and online about this receiver. It was much more than i wanted to spend, but after some time i realized the importance of a good receiver. Afterall it is the heart of your AV. I am running dolby atmos on a 5.2.2 system with klipsch speakers. Sounds great, even my wife said so. It has easy setup and sounds great right out of the box.

This receiver compliments my new 4K TV very well with an array of inputs and the latest video and audio processing capabilities. It has brought our Def Tech speakers to life and, combined with our new TV, has made a huge difference in the quality of our home entertainment system. I would highly recommend this receiver!

My first high end receiver was a Denon, but I remember it being so complicated that I moved on to another brand for several years. Now, during COVID, my receiver started glitching, and I found supply to be very limited. Instead of going low, I went high. I now enjoy 9.1 surround, including Dolby Atmos speakers and I'm blown away. And set up has moved all on-screen and couldn't be easier. I'm back to Denon for life. (And I got an awesome open box deal. Essentially just like new but hundreds off.)

I purchased this unit primarily for home theater use and am extremely satisfied. The set up is straight forward using the receiver's programming, I haven't felt the need to tweak it manually. I am using Klipsch large standing speakers and dual 12 inch subwolfers in a 5.2.4 configuration and the receiver power's them wonderfully. I do on occasion listen to Tidal or Pandora and enjoy a live concert feel.

This is my third Denon amp and I’ve been impressed with all three. Sound quality is impressive and it’s got plenty of power to drive my Def Tech towers, center channel and subwoofer. Getting everything dialed in can be intimidating and take some effort, but well worth it.

I have loved all your equipment my entire life and have always tried to have a top-of-the-line equipment. I have owned Macintosh, Onkyo, Yamaha, and Denon. In my opinion this is the finest receiver I've ever owned. It sounds great, has a quality build, and all the features one could ask for. I bought this as an upgrade to my Denon 4306 receiver that I bought 15 years ago and still use. It too is an excellent amplifier. I bought the 4500 because of 4K. I did not expect the sound quality to be so extraordinary but it is. One thing you should know is that this piece of equipment is not a toy and will require an investment of your time to figure out how to use it properly. I believe this is true for all of the new receivers but I know it is true for this one. There are tons of things embedded into the amp. It's like operating a new cell phone. You can use it as is and it will be great but if you really want to experience it you going to have to spend some time on YouTube and in the manual. I love the machine and the way it sounds. I will put it up against any amplifier in its class.

I originally bought a 3500 to replace a 16 year old Denon AVR3801. The 3801 was a beast at the time, and a great value at its price point. The 3500 looked like it would be the same, and the flexibility was amazing. Something just wasn't right, though. The audio on the old Denon sounded better. I did some side by side testing of the 3500 and 4500 at a Magnolia shop, and there's just something better about the audio in the 4500. Once you hear the difference, it can't be unheard. The 3500 just sounded a bit "digital." I'm very happy with the 4500, though. The difference in audio quality makes listening a true pleasure. The price bump was tough to take, though, since the 3500 almost as good for about 30% less. A few other thoughts: eARC works great with my new-ish Sony TV. Everything turns on and off together like magic. the HDMI routing is great. It took me a little time with settings across devices to make sure I was getting HDR signal from the xbox. That works great now as well. Also, AirPlay 2 is great! I love just tapping the airplay button on my phone and streaming music to the big system. Overall, a fantastic product. i just wish the better audio was one model lower in the Denon line.

Something is not right here, my Denon 1909 that is easily a decade old runs circles around this in the amplification department. Not to mention, this particular model runs extremely warm when driven. Also, something has changed in Audussey. At low volume, Audussey’s Dynamic EQ compensates by adding EQ to the center. Which in most cases makes speech muffled. I can’t say i’ve had this problem with my older 1909. Will look at other brands for a replacement.

This receiver is excellent, especially when it's on sale. Fairly straight forward setup. It has all the latest and greatest av receiver features. My Onkyo was about 15 years so this was a big leap forward. Very pleased with the performance so far.

I have two of these and an 8500. I actually like these better than the 8500. For whatever reason these seem to put more power to my speakers. My systems that I have the 4500s on are much louder than the system I have the 8500 on. I love the HEOS integration. The system is very intuitive and easy to hook up.

This is it. This one wins. There's not a single part of this system that hasn't exceeded my expectations. My setup is somewhat demanding and this handles it without a blink. Setup was more than easy, sound quality is fantastic. The build on it is very premium and the software is easy to use too.
