A: Hey there! The remote control provided for the DCD-900NE can also be used to control a Denon integrated amplifier (but not an AVR). If you want to control the volume and mute functions of a Denon integrated amplifier, simply press the AMP button at the top of the remote. In addition, there is an IR input/output located on the back of the unit for situations where the remote cannot reach the device. It's important to note that the provided remote is not a learning remote and cannot be programmed to operate other brands. If you need further assistance, please get in touch with our Denon support team by calling 800-497-8921.
A: Hello. Of the two descriptions you provide, there is some room in between. The DCD-900NE is somewhere in between. We are proud of the build quality of the DCD-900NE for a player in its market position. The DCD-1700 and the DCD-A110 are good examples of the solid metal tanks of the 1980's and are the next steps up in our CD player range. The DCD-1700NE is remarkable value - not least because most of the solid metal tanks of the 1980's in today's money would be priced above $4000, but also because it plays SACDs, data CDs and data DVDs.
Q: do I need auxiliary speakers to hear the CD's?
A: Hello. As the DCD-900NE is a dedicated CD player, an amplifer and speakers will need to be added, as there are no speakers built-in. A great way to do this is with our 'Home' speakers. They come in three sizes (the Home 150, Home 250 and Home 350), all of which have a 3.5MM AUX input on the rear. Just add a simple RCA to 3.5mm cable to connect the DCD-900NE to a home speaker for great sound and convenience. The Home speakers also come with the ability to stream music from a large selection of popular online services.
