As a long time Disgaea fan I both loved and hated this one. First the loved part. The story is the standard Disgaea fare, humorous but not massively complex, still enjoyable though. The auto battle feature is nice for level grinding and item leveling. Also, the character sprites being rendered in a 3D chibi style was a nice change of pace. Now for the hated part. The game serious pared down the number of generic characters in the game, only 22 or 23 characters total including monster classes. And the unique spells and abilities were character specific instead of weapon specific (i.e., a Warrior can only learn ax abilities no matter what weapon is equipped). The increased level cap also becomes a slog to grind through later in the game. I could definitely tell that the game was geared for making you purchase the XP boosting items from the PSN store. Otherwise, you will be leaving your game to auto grind for many many hours So, if you are a diehard fan of the series and/or don't mind a 200+ hour grind fest (I was at 280 hours when I platniumed the game) it is not a bad game. But if that doesn't sound appealing then I would just revisit previous Disgaea's.

While not as strong of a game as Disgaea 4 or 5, Disgaea 6 Complete gives you a heck of a lot of content for the price, plus, no framerate issues like the Switch version had when it released. If you can snag it for less than $40, then absolutely give this a game a go. You won’t regret it.

The Disgaea games are always fun, lots to do you will easily be playing this game for 100 hours and more, these games are always funny and enjoyable, lots of great story characters and lots of fun characters to create to add to your team, this version contains all the bonus characters from the DLC, I highly recommend this great game.

So Disgaea 6 is on a new engine using 3d models instead of sprites so it is lacking from previous titles but other then that on sale it's a good pick up. Disgaea 7 is much better with the new 3d models

I’ve played all the Disgaea games, and just completed D5 which I really enjoyed. They improved the visuals, but made some strange gameplay changes. They also have Japanese language during battle, even though I have English selected. I just can’t get into this game, and I doubt I’ll finish it.
