Ive been excited to play this game since the announcement and boy did it not disappoint. It’s a ton of fun with plenty of new characters new game mechanics and a hint of nostalgia that made the experience a 10 out of 10. The switch 2’s updated display and graphics really made this game pop and perform without any hitches. The story was fantastic and it made me feel like I couldn’t put the game down and yet there were still plenty of side quests and puzzles on each level to really make me feel like I got my moneys worth. a truly fun donkey Kong experience.

I played through Donkey Kong Bananza over the summer and it was the most fun I have had in a long time. The controls and movement in this game are amazing. You can punch through almost everything and use DK’s Bananza powers to solve puzzles and move through the worlds. There’s tons of stuff to collect and you get different rewards for doing so (skill upgrade, outfits, skins, etc.) and it makes the collecting so much fun. The different worlds were all so creative and the final boss was incredible!

DONKEY KONG BANANZA is without question one of the best games on Switch 2 (maybe THE best) and one of the greatest Nintendo games of all time. This is a BEAST of a game. On the surface, it's a game about a massive gorilla smashing everything in sight, but beneath the surface, Bananza is a commentary on the transformative power of music. Pauline's voice unlocks new abilities for DK, and DK helps Pauline overcome her stage fright. It's sweet and whilesome and touching and I can't beliece a gamr about a goria made me cry like a baby. On top of that, the game is BRIMMING with awesome music and references to audio and hifi. I have over 500 hours in the last 10 months. The core content of the game will keep you occupied for a solid 100-150 hours if you are trying to 100% the game. Then the Emerald Rush DLC adds nearly endless replayability to the game. I am trying to achieve the elusive V rank on every difficulty level of every Layer, but it is proving to be very difficult. I can see myself grinding Emerald Rush for the foreseeable future of the Switch 2. I haven't connected this deeply with a game since Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey were both released in 2017.

Donkey Kong Bonanza is an absolute blast! It brings that classic arcade energy with a fresh twist that keeps you hooked. The gameplay is fast, fun, and packed with nostalgic charm—perfect for both longtime fans and new players. The levels are creative, the graphics pop, and the soundtrack slaps. Whether you’re chasing high scores or just vibing with the chaos, this game delivers pure joy. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something that’s both retro and refreshing!

Ive been playing through this game. Wonderful game with terrific graphics with the switch 2. Starts off a little sluggish compared to the other donkey kong games but once you get going and understand the jist of the game it really opens up and becomes great. The Cons is the price. I know its not BB and that Nintendo is making the prices. When is enough. If you’re going to charge $70+ for a switch/switch 2 game at least make it worth wild and include some extras in the case like back in the day. But if it goes on sale and you’re interested then yes definitely a must pick up

This has been a super fun experience to just smash anything you want and just relax if you’re looking to play something but not have to be super locked into it the entire time and it even has a 2-player mode albeit not the best co-op game by far but something to note if you have anybody looking to play something easy with you on the Switch 2

The destruction mechanics, the presentation, the customization options for both characters, everything is nearly flawless to showcase the Switch 2. Most of the bosses are pretty nothing, but the endgame hit me harder than any new game release, ever.

Donkey Kong Bananza is a bold reinvention of the classic platformer, blending sandbox exploration, environmental destruction, and animal transformations into a chaotic, joyful experience. Developed by the team behind Super Mario Odyssey, it shares DNA with that title but swings in a more destructive and creative direction. Destruction System Kong can dig, punch, and tear through nearly every part of the environment. Materials have elemental properties, enabling puzzle-solving and combat strategies. You can surf on chunks of earth, dig under lasers, or toss rocks to defeat enemies Transformations Transform into animals like a zebra (speed), ostrich (glide and egg bombs), and more. Each form has unique abilities and skill trees, adding depth to platforming and combat

DK Bananza just HIT DIFFERENT. It’s SO FUN TO PLAY. Everything is great and super polished. The graphics are fun, the sound, the music, there’s always new stuff to do, YOU CAN DESTROY EVERYTHING in ultra satisfying ways, the rumble adds a fantastic layer to everything. THIS is next gen gaming. Nintendo is using the new hardware capabilities to create an INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE.

You're about to go bananas over Donkey Kong! I love how expansive this game is and there's a lot of variety everything from level design to costumes that enhance your abilities to find those precious bananas that DK craves. The co-op is also super fun and twice the excitement!

This is an incredible platformer for Donkey Kong in 11 years that I’ve played yet. It’s also an amazing 3D platformer for Donkey Kong in over 26 years, and I absolutely loved it. It’s so fun having to smash terrain above, upfront, and below to collect gold, attack enemies, and transform into different animals. The world design is so colorful and vibrant that I’m surprised the game takes place underground. This is definitely Donkey Kong’s grand return and a game worth playing. Would highly recommend it to anyone who loves platformers and to anyone who loves Donkey Kong!

The Mario Odyssey developers did it again. One of the most fun platformers in existence. Easy 10/10. If you own a Switch 2 but somehow still don't have this game and even remotely enjoy platformers, get it now. You can even play pseudo co-op with a family member or friend who isn't too into games.

Love the game. Went between the two stores to get both the Switch 2 and Donkey Kong Bananza. But it was worth it. Been playing them and enjoying both games and system. Definitely worth the time and effort.

I loved that the game gives you the opportunity to destroy all the scenarios and also rewards you by discovering maps that lead you to find more and more interesting things, I am super hooked with this game by throwing each rock and it is fascinated by the different powers they give you and thus making you more creative every time

For anyone with a Odyssey-sized hole in their heart, this is the game for you. Crafted with the same joy of discovery, with a layer of destruction on top, this is exactly what the Switch 2 needs. It's made by the same team as Odyssey, so you know you're in good hands for hours of fun.

This family friendly game was enjoyed by all ages in our family. The difficulty is appropriate for the average gamer and scales as the game progresses - particularly near the end and in the post game. Made by the same group as Mario Odyssey, this game exhibits beautiful and creative game design.
