Dragon Quest 1&2 Remake is not just a simple retelling of the older Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior in the US) games. It's a full remake too down added new content and characters to what is just a simple JRPG experience. It's part of the original trilogy in the Dragon Quest series. Dragon Quest 3 being the prequel to Dragon Quest 1 and Dragon Quest 2 being the sequeI. It's a great modern take of the first two games and adds more story to what is basically an old school NES RPG game. I purchase the Switch 1 version because I'm not a big fan of game key cards, but by doing so. I lose out on higher frame rate of 60 fps and better visuals. Game runs at 30 fps which still runs well and doesn't take away from the experience. It's a fun gameplay experience and should be played to see the birth of what is known as the JRPG genre.

Very good remakes with extras and more. Impressed with added content in DQ1. So far, I finished that one. Now onto part 2. My only gripe is the lack of zooming into the game with camera and also can’t turn camera to look around. Other than that it was a well worth purchase. Much better than the previous mobile release.

Dragon Quest 1&2 HD Remakes are a great collection of games to own. If you played the DQ 3 remake, then this will be similar to that game, but no class changes in the characters. The game is remastered editions of the original first two Dragon Warrior and Dragon Quest games. The game expands the story and adds more dialogue, as well as some new locations to visit. There are a lot more boss battles in the game and at times can be a little tough if you are under leveled. You will have to use a lot of strategy to be the more difficult bosses or you will be retrying a lot. The games will take the same amount of time as a normal RPG for each game, so you will spend a good two weeks or longer to beat each game. I highly recommend these games if you played any of the other games in the series or the DQ3 Remake.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake was incredible and this collection followup is just as great for both JRPG fans and Dragon Quest fans. While there's a Switch 2 version I had to get this collection as it's actually a physical version and not a digital key card licensed to the collection which you have to download. Graphics/musical score/gameplay are amazing and honestly well worth the price it's going for. A great X-mas gift for gamers this holiday season now just waiting for the rest of the series to come out.

Amazing remake of two legendary games. Worth playing even if you have beat the originals in their numerous incarnations. This version actually has the game on the card (cf. SW2 Game Key) AND does benefit from improved performance (e.g. stable frame rate) when played on a Switch 2.

If you enjoy the original versions, Dragon Warrior I & II then you will love this remake. Updated visuals make it appealing for a wider audience. It’s completely faithful to the original NES/famicom versions.

One of the most changed remakes I've ever played. In all the right ways. Dragon Quest I is a brand new game and more difficult. And Dragon Quest II has been remade on the level of a game like Dragon Quest V or Chrono Trigger. A definite must have for fans of JRPGs.

Did you grow up with the SNES? Have you heard of Dragon Quest? Then you'll love this title. It boasts remakes of the first two titles, showing off upgraded graphical art, quality of life improvements, and overall panache.

This game is JRPG nostalgia at its finest! I never got a chance to play the originals, but this was a fantastic adventure. I enjoy the grinding, storyline, the character, voices, and the classic magic skills and abilities.
The Daddy of all JRPGs given new life with a fresh look that's just amazing to look at.

Excellent enhancement of the original games. The Switch version is better in my opinion, as the games are actually on the game card, unlike the Switch 2 version. With these types of game engines, the additional power of the Switch 2 would produce limiting returns on image quality. I'd rather not need to download the games to play them; that's why I buy physical media.
