Haven’t been able to play that much but did test run it on the switch 2. It is pretty smooth, much better than on the switch 1. Hope the 1&2 had a free upgrade for tehswitch 2 as well

People are unfairly rating the product instead of contacting Best Buy support. I got my game on time and my promo code came in email a few days later. Check your junk mail folks or contact Best Buy. I’m sure they can issue a missing code.

This is DQIII so it's good, but I was not a fan of the graphics. It looked a little to fake to me.

Bestbuy didn't give me my pre-order code and transferred me around their help line over and over for 2 hours then told me i need to contact square-enix directly S-E promptly told me bestbuy is responsible for their own codes

I’ve been playing Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake on the Nintendo Switch and it’s been a great experience. The updated HD-2D visual style looks fantastic, blending classic pixel art with modern lighting and effects while still keeping the original charm of the game. The gameplay remains faithful to the classic Dragon Quest formula with turn-based combat, exploration, and party customization. It’s easy to pick up but still offers plenty of depth as you progress through the adventure. Overall, this remake is a great way for new players to experience a classic RPG while longtime fans can enjoy the updated presentation and improvements. Pros: Beautiful HD-2D graphics, classic RPG gameplay, nostalgic experience Cons: Gameplay style may feel traditional for some players

Everything you want from a classic 8-bit JRPG but with all the modern amenities you need. Selectable sprites for all the classes, difficulty selection, adjustable map/quest markers (if you don’t want to use a notebook anymore), fully orchestrated sound track (but still the old school spell sound effects).

The HD-2D presentation gets rid of some of the “quirkier”aspects of the game to make a thoroughly flawless experience. Beautiful visuals, orchestration, and fun gameplay

Best Remaster ever of any DQ game, if you ever played this on the original NES this game will blow your socks off. On top of the graphics they added new features and now some of the characters have voice overs!

Played this game on Gameboy color back when I was a kid. Loading it up on the switch 2 the game looks crisp and smooth. Voice acting is great and the level of polish and improvements that they have added to a 20+ year old game is impressive especially considering the recently lowered 30 dollar price point.

Beautiful HD-2D art style really complements this timeless classic. Definitely the way to enjoy it if its been a few years since your last playthrough. It now has a free switch 2 upgrade (graphical fidelity mode and a 60fps performance mode) as well so be sure to take advantage of that if you have the hardware.

I remember playing the old snes games of the series and there were certainly some frustrating issues that we were too young to articulate. They released the 1,2,3 pack but those were just ports with all those problems present in the old graphical style as well. Now the first few are being released again with total overhauls that make it pretty to look at and it functions better over the originals.

If you are a Dragonquest fan, DO NOT THINK TWICE. This game is beautiful and is JRPG comfort food. The sounds, the art, the voice acting is all top-tier. Simple alter memorable turn-based gameplay that had me smiling the whole time. Thank you Akira Toriyama for helping in create the world of Dragonquest.

Dragon Quest III Remake is an amazing game. It brings back a new look and added features that make the game brand new again. They have added a lot of new features from the original NES and the remake of the modern systems. If you are a fan of Dragon Quest, then you will definitely want to place this game.

Dragon Quest is my absolute favorite JRPG game series, but I struggled to get through this game. The primary reasons are because this remade version has terrible difficulty balance and leveling. You barely get any EXP from from enemies now and it's like this throughout the whole game. There is literally only one good spot to grind in the entire game and it never feels enough...even on the easiest setting. Walking around the overworld gets very tedious too, because there are sparkly looting spots, which really on serve the purpose of having loot to sell, it's kind of boring. Overall, I was mildly disappointed and really hope the 1 + 2 remake collection is exactly like this. OH YEAH, one other super important detail I almost forgot. The WORST thing about this game is the encounter rate. It's INSANELY HIGHER, like WAY HIGHER, than the original games and any other JRPG I've ever played in my entire life...it's BAD!

This remake lives up the the immense legacy of the original game while also adding many new mechanics and quality-of-life features to allow players new to Dragon Quest III or the Dragon Quest series in general to be able to jump in without being overwhelmed. The visuals are stunning, making it the best looking Square-Enix title under the "HD-2D" moniker yet, the fully orchestrated score adds a lot to the atmosphere. The only thing I can have against it(which is not enough for me to bump it to 4 stars) is some very minor features from the SNES(A boardgame-like minigame based heavily on Enix's Fortune Street Series) and GBC(A collectathon mechanic tied heavily to a new-to-that-version postgame dungeon) versions of the game are not here, but there is plenty of new stuff that uses many parts of that missing content, and the stuff that replaced the GBC version's exclusive content in particular I can imagine would be a lot more palatable to most people.

It's fun character party creation can be fun to play & mess with. Game difficulty can be changed at any time. 60+ hours in with level 40 party. Best Buy helped me get my pre order dlc code when I was in store. I'm very greatful 1 of the items has helped quite a bit.

This is a wonderful classic RPG, brought to life in the new HD-2D style. It's turn-based and requires a little grinding in some areas, but the visuals, music, and quality of life improvements make this a must-own for RPG fans.
