Q: I just bought a used HP LP 1965 monitor for my new Dell Inspiron desktop computer.
A: You'd have to find out what cables are compatible with your computer. Usually the "blue to blue" cable is VGA If it looks like a smaller input, its probably VGA if it looks wide and "white or gold" its probably DVI if it looks like you can plug in your HD Blueray Player its probably HDMI
Q: May I use this cable to go from a 30 Pin Apple - VGA connector to a TV with DVI Port?

A: No- this is a DVI- A adapter. I thought it was a DVI-D adapter as well. Two very different things.
