Q: What is the difference between the hp04 and hp06?

The major difference between the Dyson HP04 Pure Hot + Cool and the HP06 Cryptomic, is that the latter will not just capture formaldehyde, like the HP04, but it will also destroy it. Q: How often do you need to change the filters on the HP04
A: There are two filters (HEPA & Carbon). Replacement is based on the status of the filters (not a schedule). The machine displays the remaining life span of each filter type. You can also monitor the status via the Dyson Link app (download from Dyson website). Check the Dyson website - it provides more detail (including visual)

Both machines are designed to intelligently purify, heat and cool you. The HP04 model is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, to allow you to connect your purifier to the Dyson Link App on your smart phone device. Within the app you can control the machine, set up a run time schedule, view air quality and also the remaining life on the filter. The HP01 will not be able to connect to the app. The HP04 model also has an LCD display. HP01 will oscillate 180º and the HP04 oscilaltes 350° and also has backward air flow. A: Unlike the other answer, I found that the button to press and hold to replace the carbon-fiber filter was the "airflow direction" button, not the timer button. Pressing and holding the sleep button reset the other one. Holding the timer button just set the timer repeatedly for me. Hope this helps someone!
