Background: This is my first dyson. I am coming from Shark vacuums- most recently the corded Apex Uplight stick vacuum and a robot vac. I have 2 cats and live in a one bedroom 850 square foot apt w/ mostly simulated hardwood flooring and a couple of rugs. I take pride in having people not being able to tell I have pets - so a great vacuum is key. I wanted something lightweight with an even smaller footprint and top notch performance. Never thought I'd drop $700+ tax on a vacuum, but I wanted to see if the hype was legit. Unboxing Impressions: Was happy with the included accessories - especially the motorized hand tool and wall mount. Assembly was very easy. I could not believe how light it was. Honestly, I was skeptical looking at it and wondered how such a small cordless stick vacuum could get the job done. Performance and handling: After a few days I am very impressed. The noise level is much quieter than what I am used to - which is a big plus. Both the fluffy and torque head picked up tons of fine dust and hair without much effort at all on the hard flooring. No job took more than 2 passes. Cat litter is a huge pain and vacuums tend to just kick it around - but the dyson performed very well. The intelligent auto mode adjusted the power as advertised when approaching dirty and light areas. The laser on the fluffy seemed a bit gimmicky at first considering I have had vacuums with powerful LEDs, but the laser takes it to another level showing even greater detail. It works well in most lighting except for direct super bright natural lighting. I wish they incorporated this on both cleaning heads. Maneuvering this took some getting used to. On one hand, that 5lb difference makes a huge impact on comfort, but I had to adjust to the lighter handling characteristics. Not having heavy cleaning heads with bigger wheels means I needed a lighter touch. The trigger is also interesting, but I understand dyson's logic behind it to maximize battery efficiency. I had to learn to not squeeze it with a death grip. Dealing with carpet was the biggest learning curve. My carpet is on the thicker side, and on auto I simply couldn't push it and it would often get stuck. I learned that eco mode is best and actually still does a great job cleaning. Hopefully dyson can improve the programming for their "auto" mode in the future. But either way, the simple adjustment does the trick. Battery life was more than enough for my home. Even when manually turning on the boost mode at times. This is where I learned to appreciate the trigger for saving battery life instead of having the vacuum running between transitions. I am now a believer in the freedom of cordless. Dumping the canister was simple enough, but I did need to pump it a few times to clear some of the hair. Maintenance also seems improved with this unit. With shark, I had more parts that required attention and more filters to clean/replace. Wish list: Overall I love this vacuum. Very happy to join the club. If I had to nitpick, I'd love to see the following: Better handling on carpet in auto mode. Figuring out a fast charging solution in the future would be nice. Longer warranty. This is a beautiful over-engineered piece of equipment, so the short warranty makes me nervous Make HEPA standard. The language reads like HEPA filtration in terms of performance, but I see no actual usage of the HEPA standard.

The Dyson V15 Detect cordless vacuum is a high-end, powerful vacuum that is well suited for cleaning a variety of surfaces. The vacuum features Dyson's new laser-based particle sensor, called Dyson Detect, which uses lasers to scan the floor and detect debris, dust, and pet hair. It sounds like a gimmick at first, but surprisingly it really helps see dust and small debris. The sensor then relays this information to the vacuum's digital motor, which adjusts the suction power accordingly. This allows the vacuum to be extremely efficient and effective at picking up dirt and debris. The V15 Detect is also cordless and lightweight, making it easy to maneuver around your home. It has a run time of up to 60 minutes, and comes with a variety of attachments, such as a crevice tool and a combination tool, to help you clean different surfaces. Additionally, the vacuum has a removable battery that can be replaced, so you can enjoy continuous cleaning without interruption. I have a rather large house and it doesn't need a charge every night so I can speak to the capacity of the battery. The vacuum has a sleek yellow and nickel design and is compatible with a wide range of surfaces. Overall, the Dyson V15 Detect cordless vacuum is a high-performing, powerful, and efficient vacuum that is well suited for cleaning a variety of surfaces in your home, thanks to its laser-based sensor and cordless design.

This is the best vacuum I've ever owned. I thought the laser would be a gimmick but it absolutely is essential after using it. If you're looking between one that does not have the green laser and the one that does I would definitely go with the one it does you will not be disappointed. This thing last so long and clean so well. Just flat out amazing

So far so good. We have had the vacum for about 2 weeks and works as advertised, with more than enough suction to thoroughly clean our hardwoods and carpets. Probably a little too much suction for our small low-pile rugs even on Eco mode. We have to open the vent on the brushbar all the way to reduce the amount of suction when vacuuming our bathroom and doorway rugs, which is not ideal. We normally vacuum about 750 square feet in a session on Auto mode and more than half the battery remains. Still curious to see how this holds up over the years. We had a V8 for five years, but in the last year or so we had to replace the battery and some of the parts are starting to break, pretty much the reason we bought the V15. If this vacuum can last more than 5+ years it will be a good (not great) purchase.

Hide your wife. Hide your friends. Hide your kids. Hide yourself. This vacuum will suck up your dirty mess at home in no time (run time of approximately 35 minutes as shown on display screen). Look no further as this vacuum is one that will have you telling your friends “no expense spared”. I used to have the Dyson V8 and a Shark corded stick vacuum that looked similar to this. In comparison, this V15 is something that won’t leave you with buyers remorse. It comes with attachments for practically everything you might want to vacuum and it just leaves you satisfied knowing the job gets done easier than before. The clear canister allows for perfect view of all the dirt you suck up and the laser (unfortunately only on one floor attachment) makes cleaning that much more enticing. The laser lets you see all the little dust particles and pet hair that you have on the floor. Granted, the laser really only provides use on hardwood/laminate. However, the vacuum does come with two anti-tangle attachments for carpet which is great. Not only does this vacuum apply to different environment settings, it also takes care of your mental health. Seeing all the dirt get flushed out of the vacuum is very pleasing and immaculate to do as you just push a red button which opens the canister. There’s also a lip that helps push all the dirt off the filter inside to help ensure that the inside of the vacuum stays cleaner than other vacuums. Aside from having three modes to select from, the vacuum will ramp up suction power when it senses that there are a lot more particles being picked up in a certain area. I have literally zero complaints for this device and all the praise for the people who engineered the V15 as the vacuum in utilization will justify the heavy price. So what are you waiting for? Get this thing and find out for yourself just how much more motivated you get to clean and how much better cleaning feels. Besides, you can always return it within the return timeframe if you don’t like it. (:

After years of relying on my old corded vacuum, I decided to upgrade to the Dyson V15 Detect Cordless Vacuum. I'm so glad I did! This vacuum is an absolute game changer. It's cordless and lightweight, so it's so much easier to move around the house. It has great suction power and does a great job of picking up pet fur, crumbs, and other messes. Overall, I am very happy with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new vacuum.

Best vacuum ever! I've had the V7 and V10 they were great but this one OMG out does them both. I did not realize how much pet hair was on our carpets each day till I started using my new Dyson V15. One sweep around in our living room fills up the canister. We have 2 large dogs and 5 cats you can imagine the hair and dust. When I have no time to do the vacuuming myself I run a robot vacuum it does not compare to the Dyson V15 but I feel vacuuming needs to be done every other day at the least. The V15 is a little on the heavy side compare to my other two older Dysons. I have not used the wall mount. I place mine on the counter in the laundry room. I would prefer the charger plug to be in the back of the unit like the other ones. The amount of attachments that came with this is also another reason I love it. The best one is the main roller its pretty much self cleaning. The females in this house have long hair and we seem to shed too. No problem for the vacuum. Pet hair People hair it gets the job done. I'm keeping all 3 Dysons, one in our travel trailer, one is in my craft room that is in another building on our property and my newest (V15) is for the house. Oh yeah I do have a canister vacuum (not Dyson) but that one does not get used anymore because of the V15 doing such a great job.

I mean what can I say? Once you have the green laser and can actually see all the dust especially on wood floors why would you EVER go back to a regular vacuum and it’s cordless and it sucks a lot. Honestly most of the reviews I read when I purchased said this vacuum sucks and they were correct but in a good way ;)

Best vacuum I have ever owned even if it is the most expensive vacuum I have ever purchased. Great suction. Vast array of tools to pretty much clean everything in your house. Pretty easy to assemble even though it looks intimidating at first.

Best vacuum ever!!! I didn’t know that my dog was shedding. When I used the device that has the laser light, it lit up all the hair that fell off my dog. I cringed when I saw my floor like that and started vacuuming away. I vacuumed the furniture, table, kitchen cabinet, chairs, walls, you name it, I vacuumed it. Even my fake plants and flowers. My house feels clean. It’s worth the money. And I’m saving money too, because, I ditched my broom. swiffer duster, swiffer cloth that you use on the floor. To top it off, I don’t have to hire a cleaning lady, because, I was thinking of getting one. This vacuum does the job so fast. It saves time in doing the cleaning. All you have to do is charge it fully and if it runs out off charge, you can do something else around the house while you charge it again. I highly recommend this vacuum. My only regret is, “why didn’t I get it sooner!!!” I didn’t like the price of this vacuum, so, I bought cheaper vacuums and other paraphernalia. In the end, I spend more money. Take my advice, buy this vacuum, you won’t regret it. I hope they’ll not increase the price of this vacuum after my review, because, I intend to get another one.

Great, easy to use. Use it almost daily. Suction and features are a great selling point. Only potential drawback is more frequent emptying with smaller tank

This was an absolute godsend. We have two dogs that shed like no other. This vacuum makes life so much easier to keep the house clean especially since it is wireless and the battery is really good.

We needed to replace our V6 Absolute with something powerful so I did my research on the best cordless vacuums. The new Dysons seemed to be the best overall although the priciest. However, you get what you pay for and all I can say is that thing is amazing!! Definitely met my expectations and exceeded my expectation for tackling carpet. I was shocked by how much dust and crud this thing picked up that not even my Dyson canister vac could get. Suction power is amazing. Additionally, I’ve sucked up so much hair from my wife, but nothing gets tangled on the roller or in the canister. Everything cleans out easily. Lastly, some people say the laser is just “being extra”, but that’s exactly what gives this thing another edge. Turn off the lights and test it out on those hard floors. It literally picks up all of those dust particles and polishes your wood floor. Do yourself a favor, quit debating and thinking about it. Get this V15 vacuum now!! P.S. I don’t normally leave long reviews, but I had a great day and I love the vacuum!!

I love this vacuum. Excellent suction power, over thirty minutes of vacuuming on one battery charge, comes with plenty of useful attachments and is super easy to empty the collection bin. I especially love how I can get easily under tables, chairs and other furniture and into tight spaces. Has made a high improvement in dust control in my house.
