Awesome device for cleaning hard surface floors as long as you are diligent on the cleaning the machine. The self cleaning mode is only good for cleaning up the rollers between cleans but when you are done for the day remove the rollers and brushes, wash with warm water and let air dry. Check the Dyson instructions for “Deep clean”. If you don’t do the deep cleaning and let you mop head sit wet in the cradle the rollers get smelly very quick and then you are spreading that all over the floor. Yuck

I had really high hopes for this as I LOVE my Dyson Outsize Detect. BUT, the ball was dropped on this product. It cleans pretty well, but it is a NIGHTMARE to clean afterwards. We have 2 golden retrievers, so there are constantly messes to be cleaned. Which it does really well, but the issue comes with their hair. Even when we vacuum before mopping, any hair that is residual gets all stuck in the rollers. And it’s not just pet hair either, our hair gets pretty tangled too. Honestly, I can say this is my first Dyson product that I don’t love. If we didn’t have pets, it would be fine but overall, don’t buy this unless your pets don’t shed or you don’t have any to begin with. I will be returning this as I don’t feel like going through the hassle of untangling hair after each use.

1 star because I could not give it 0. This product gives Dyson a bad name. Overpriced crap. I tried to like it but everytime I used it, it as a fail! The water tank leaked, it started to leave sudsy streaks with only water in the machine so I figure it was activating floor cleaners that were previously used so I took it apart to run a cleaning cycle for it to overflow the base with suds and made a huge mess. Gave it another chance 3 more times and it never got better. My house is new and I have only ever used natural cleaners and cleaned the floors myself so I know they do not have a build up of products. The machine is a nightmare to take apart to clean. Trust me...you do not want to run the clean cycle and think you are done! The rollers must be taken out each time, washed and left out to air dry or they will smell like a nasty wet mop after only 1 time not doing it. Plus Dyson doesn't even have the floor cleaner they adversise and will tell you to just use water only. Yea...let's all just mop our floor with water only.

We were in the market for an electric mop and found this Dyson WashG1 in the store. My wife and I decided to purchase and give it a shot. We were very pleased on how well it cleaned up our floor with just ordinary water! Using a wet swiffer was just too messy and we were tired of purchasing new pads with the liquid solution. This was definitely worth the purchase for us!
