Earthen Sea - Act Of Love - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Jacob Long's reductionist rhythmic ambient vessel, Earthen Sea, ebbs towards a more purely elemental state on his second excursion for Kranky, Grass And Trees. He describes the creative process as one of Inchsimplifying things as much as possible,Inch designing uncluttered spaces traced in nothing but breath, field recordings, and Inchsounds that could be played by hand but weren't.Inch The results feel decentralized but dynamic, low-lit evocations of ambiguous nocturnal environments-dub techno disassembled into stray pulses and spare parts. It's a music both interior and infinite, languorous yet transformative, made in the outer boroughs of a metropolis but existing in it's own liminal wilderness.Long's vision is a grounding one, rooted in the physical body but attuned to larger currents InchIn response to living in a fairly hectic city, and at a very hectic time for the world at large, creating something more drawn back and restrained felt appropriate.Inch Album Tracks 1. Existing Closer or Deeper in Space 2. Window, Skin, and Mirror 3. Spatial Ambiguity 4. A Blank Slate 5. Living Space and Usually 6. Shallow, Shadowless 7. Less and Less

2023 . Introducing London-based trio Island of Love, a band that delivers such a remarkably raucous live show that Third Man Records signed them during their cigarette break immediately after seeing them play. With influences from the band's start in the London hardcore punk scene and their DIY community roots, the album is elevated by the shared vocal and songwriting duties of Newble and Munch. Produced by Fuzzbrain's Ben Spence and engineered by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Jeff Rosenstock, Joyce Manor), Island of Love is an album full of songs that pinball back and forth between tones and styles, and make up one of the most refreshing and fun debut albums you'll hear in 2023. Album Tracks 1. Big Whale 2. Fed Rock 3. Grow 4. Blues 2000 5. Sweet Loaf 6. I've Got the Secret 7. Losing Streak 8. Weekend at Clive's 9. Charles 10. Never Understand 11. It Was All Ok Forever
