The ecobee thermostat is easy to use. I have better control over the temperature in my house based on that I am home, asleep, or away from home. This will help me save in the total cost of my electric bill. I can control the thermostat with my phone, I like that very much. It is connected to my HomeKit from Apple. I can talk to it using Siri. It can detect if I’m away from home. I am contracted with Duke energy so that they can operate more efficiently delivering energy to all homes during periods of high consumption, in the process I get a credit every year $50. The first year after two months of using the smart thermostat, I will receive $150 credit. Every little bit helps! Prior to getting the ecobee, I was a prisoner of having to manually set my thermostat in this limited my ability to save money and also to better set my household up for a comfortable living space. I had no idea how the thermostat would look once it was installed, the person I paid to install the thermostat thought it might look nice without the base plate that came with the thermostat, and he was right! I really like it a lot! I know a lot of people install this themselves in. I’ve heard that it was a fairly easy install, but I am 69 years old and I’m finally more difficult too task myself with doing things like this. The gentleman, installing this explained what he was doing, the set up, it was based on the type/brand of HVAC (heat pump) I was using. I would not have known that if I’ve done this on my own. I would just suggest having someone experience and install it if you are like I am. My brothers could’ve done it, but not me. It did not take long to install the thermostat, once started. I looked at all of the different brands of thermostats, and I liked ecobee a lot in this particular model works with Apple HomeKit, which I liked. The only thing I am upset about with this unit, is that I did not bite the bullet sooner and purchase this. I waited too long! I’m very happy!

I bought the Ecobee thermostat with one sensor from Best Buy, and it has been a complete game changer for our home. It comes with one room sensor, and I decided to place it in my kids’ bedroom because their comfort is my top priority. My bedroom is right next to theirs, so once their room reached the perfect temperature, my room also became comfortable. Now both rooms feel just right at night. The biggest surprise was how easy it was to install. I’m not very handy at all, but I installed it myself without any problems. If I can do it, anybody can do it. The setup was straightforward and much easier than I expected. After installing it, the comfort difference is very noticeable. The temperature control is much better than before, and we are very satisfied with the results. I highly recommend it.

Switching to ecobee has been such a pleasant experience. Coming from the Nest ecosystem has been a welcome change. I really love the interface on this thermostat. It’s easy to adjust the temperature and the screen is big and bright. I especially like that it has integrated smart assistants for whatever ecosystem you have. I will say that one downer that I discovered after purchasing is that you WILL NOT get the interactive doorbell screen unless you already have an ecobee doorbell. While that makes complete sense now, I automatically assumed that it would function like an Amazon Echo as there is Alexa integration. I was very wrong. It doesn’t diminish the product in any way. I just had expectations that were dashed because I didn’t research before buying. So, if that feature is appealing to you, just know that you have to already have an ecobee doorbell. The sensor was super easy to set up. It comes pre-paired so I had no trouble at all. It basically captures the temperature of the rooms you have them placed in and sets the average on the main thermostat. So, while the immediate location of the thermostat may actually be 65 degrees, it will show the average of all temperatures in the home, which could be 68. So, while this is very effective at keeping the AC on until specific rooms are at a target temperature, you can have cold spots in your home. Not a big deal to us so we are happy with the performance. Overall, this is a fantastic device that has excellent build quality. The screen is glass so it will break if dropped or bumped. I actually dropped mine and caught it with my food, but it barely hit the baseboard and left a small chip. I reached out to ecobee and they actually sent me a new thermostat. They truly have excellent service. I honestly can’t recommend this enough if you are in the market. The whole product and software are fantastic. If you are on the fence, just get the ecobee. You won’t regret it.
