A: Not really. The Ecobee can control one HVAC unit. It uses the individual wireless sensors to either average them all or focusing on 1 sensor depending on the Comfort settings. For example, if you set the Sleep Comfort settings to just use a wireless sensor, Ecobee uses the temperature from that sensor to control the HVAC. Zone heating requires either separate HVAC units or controllable vents.

Smart, Efficient and Truly Premium Comfort Control
The Ecobee Premium exceeded my expectations. Installation was smooth, the app is intuitive, and the touchscreen display is clean and responsive. It integrated seamlessly with my existing smart-home setup. What really sets this thermostat apart is how well it manages comfort. The included SmartSensor noticeably reduced temperature differences between rooms, and the system adjusts intelligently based on occupancy and schedule. I no longer have to constantly tweak the settings. The energy insights and eco features are genuinely useful not overwhelming and make it easy to optimize efficiency without sacrificing comfort. It just works and is easy to set up!
Switching to ecobee has been such a pleasant experience. Coming from the Nest ecosystem has been a welcome change. I really love the interface on this thermostat. It’s easy to adjust the temperature and the screen is big and bright. I especially like that it has integrated smart assistants for whatever ecosystem you have. I will say that one downer that I discovered after purchasing is that you WILL NOT get the interactive doorbell screen unless you already have an ecobee doorbell. While that makes complete sense now, I automatically assumed that it would function like an Amazon Echo as there is Alexa integration. I was very wrong. It doesn’t diminish the product in any way. I just had expectations that were dashed because I didn’t research before buying. So, if that feature is appealing to you, just know that you have to already have an ecobee doorbell. The sensor was super easy to set up. It comes pre-paired so I had no trouble at all. It basically captures the temperature of the rooms you have them placed in and sets the average on the main thermostat. So, while the immediate location of the thermostat may actually be 65 degrees, it will show the average of all temperatures in the home, which could be 68. So, while this is very effective at keeping the AC on until specific rooms are at a target temperature, you can have cold spots in your home. Not a big deal to us so we are happy with the performance. Overall, this is a fantastic device that has excellent build quality. The screen is glass so it will break if dropped or bumped. I actually dropped mine and caught it with my food, but it barely hit the baseboard and left a small chip. I reached out to ecobee and they actually sent me a new thermostat. They truly have excellent service. I honestly can’t recommend this enough if you are in the market. The whole product and software are fantastic. If you are on the fence, just get the ecobee. You won’t regret it.
