Eddie 9V - Capricorn - VINYL LP
About this product
As far back as he can remember, Capricorn Studios was calling Eddie 9V. As a kid scanning the sleeves of his favorite vinyl records, this fabled facility in Macon, Georgia, was always the secret ingredient, adding a little grit and honey to every song born on it's floor. Capricorn and the bands who blew through it urged the Atlanta guitarist to ditch school at 15, play his fingers bloody throughout the south, and turn apathy into acclaim for early albums Left My Soul in Memphis (2019) and Little Black Flies (2021).Eddie spent his first quarter-century admiring Capricorn from afar. But in December 2021, the 26-year-old finally put his thumbprint on the studio's mythology, corralling an eleven-strong group of the American South's best roots musicians to track his third album. InchThere was overwhelming excitement at being in such a legendary studio,Inch he says. InchBut we hugged and got right to work. Everyone was joyous, loving, and flat-out playing their asses off.Inch

Matt Berry returns with his first new solo album since 2021's Blue Elephant. This time he delivers a Soul and West Coast Psych-inspired collection of songs, which attach an innate sense of melody to a rich, contemporary take on classic recording techniques. All of this is allied with Matt's rich voice and unique lyrics. The album's opening single InchI Gotta LimitInch is a sharp, pounding number with vocal duties shared with Kitty LIV. Elsewhere, there are collaborations with Eric D Johnson of The Shins, and Golden Globe-winning actress Natasha Lyonne. In the past four years Matt has been busy with a number of projects, including his Library Music collaboration with KPM, Simplicity, and his EMMY Award nominated role as Laszlo in What We Do In The Shadows. This record, his 8th studio album for Acid Jazz, sees him return to his love of music. The North American exclusive version of the LP, is pressed maelstrom blue blend vinyl.
