I am a huge Ember mug fan (I have three of them) and I often felt like they'd be perfect if only they were dishwasher-safe. The good news is that, unofficially at least, the Mug 2 and Mug 3 interop with each other's chargers. If you're on the fence about an Ember Mug in general, then know that they are a luxury (a $100 mug!) but a great thing to put on gift wishlists, because it's such a lovely experience to come back to warm tea. When the Mug 3 was marked as such, I bought one right away! Unfortunately, it gets spots in the dishwasher the same way plastic cups and containers do—which for me means no dishwasher. So it's a personal pet peeve, but if you're expecting it to come out clean and shiny like glass and ceramic mugs do, it won't. (I have a Bosch dishwasher and I use Dirty Labs non-abrasive detergent. )

I love the feature of being able to set the temp with cup in hand without reaching for my phone for the app. Not to mention that I can just pop it into the dishwasher when I am done. These two features take the Ember 3 to a whole new level of play.

Most teachers I know deftly wield a cup of coffee as a natural extension of one hand while navigating a classroom of kids. Necessary fuel . . . but all-too-often it means a lukewarm sip. No more with Ember! I’ve had an Ember 2 for over a year now and am the envy of most of my peers — my coffee stays steaming hot through an entire 90 minute class and I stay happily caffeinated. I have been impressed with its durability and lasting effectiveness; my only complaint was that I had to hand wash it. I put up with that inconvenience without much grumbling because it was worth it for piping hot coffee. Then I saw the Ember 3: it came a week ago and it not only has the same lovely hand-feel and heft, it has been in the dishwasher every day for a week. I’m just sayin’ that takes my love to a whole new level. A+ in my book.

This mug keeps my drink toasty throughout the morning making my day better! I take it on the road with me and the lid is super spill proof. Love the color and sleek look of the mug. It’s very user friendly even without the app.

I just had my first cup of coffee in my new Ember Mug 3, and it was wonderful. My morning was packed with back-to-back meetings, follow-up emails, and meeting prep. I poured my coffee at 8 a. m. , got pulled into my day, and didn't realize I hadn't touched it for two full hours. With any other mug, that would have meant cold coffee and a trip to the microwave. Instead, I took a sip and it was still at just the right temperature. What impressed me even more is that the flavor hadn't changed. I take my coffee with milk and sugar, and reheated or long-sitting coffee usually tastes off. Not this time. It tasted just like it did when I first poured it. If you're someone who gets busy, this mug is made for you. I fully endorse the Ember Mug 3.

The mug has a nice, high quality feel to it, the battery lasts longer than expected, and I like that I don’t have to use an app to control the temperature of the drink. The sandstone color looks great!

As a returning customer, I already had high expectations for the ember mug. This mug is fantastic and I really appreciate the new features. My wife and I really are enjoying the mug.

I have two regular mugs and a travel mug and use them almost exclusively for my coffee. If I get a coffee out somewhere I'll dump it in the Ember. I just got the new one and being dishwasher safe is so convenient. I really like the lid as well; didn't know I needed that until I had one. I'll probably replace my old mugs with the new model and never hand-wash again! On-board controls are really nice as well when you don't have your phone nearby. Love it!

Love my reg. Ember mug. I will probably get the Ember 3 eventually. It's way too expensive now. Also, my only complaint is you guys really need to improve the charging coaster. I go through probably 2-3 coasters per year. The pins seemed to be faulty. Otherwise, I love my mug!

It was a little difficult to get used to at first, but i love being able to change the temperature right on the mug. So much easier than trying to fiddle with the app. I love the matcha green!!

I have always loved Ember mugs because they keep my drinks at the perfect temperature when I get stuck in meetings or get distracted from my tea my only issue was that they were never large enough because I prefer a large cup of tea. THIS SOLVED ALL MY PROBLEMS! It is such a great size, keeps my drink at the perfect temperature, and comes with a travel lid so I can take it anywhere I go! I am obsessed!! Love, love, love!

I have one of the original ones. I want to upgrade up to the latest version. Can I purchase from the UK? Or do I have to wait until I next visit the USA ?

I’ve had Ember mugs (two travel, two regular) for my morning coffee ritual now since 2018. My biggest complaint used to be that I had to hand-wash the mugs…cause let’s be honest some days you just don’t get to the dishes. And that meant a sad morning with a regular mug (womp womp). It may be a first world problem, but honestly the perfect temperature morning coffee is my absolute favorite daily routine and now being able to run this new mug through the dishwasher, I will be able to have so many perfect mornings with my Ember mug, even if I ran out of time to hand-wash dishes…just gotta remember to run, empty, dry and charge before bedtime. The battery on my first mug died a while back, but I never had the cap, which is supposed to double the battery life. I love that this new one comes with the cap, I’ll be keeping it on and hope to see the battery lasting even longer. Two mornings into my morning coffee with the 3.0 mug and I couldn’t be happier!

Loving my bigger Ember mug in lavender - which is very pretty. Lots of room for a good sized cup of coffee and creamer. Lid works really well too, so that I can take my cup to-go in the car and, as a busy mom with lots of things to remember, if I forget it, my coffee is still hot when I get back from the school run. Win-win! I bought it for the bigger size and didn't even realize that this one is dishwasher friendly. Another win. Happy days!

This mug has seriously saved my mornings! I used to catch myself having to reheat my coffee in the microwave or start up a new batch of coffee in order to get HOT coffee again. That is until I was gifted the Ember Mug! Now I can calmly sip my coffee without trying to 'rush drink' to avoid that warm "almost" cold grossness! The best part about this mug is that the app is a cool feature, but not required. You can adjust the temperature once and that is it.

It's so nice to be able to set my perfect temperature, and the fact I can walk away and come back to hot coffee puts regular mugs to shame now, but now having the button on the bottom to cycle between temperature levels adds quick access if I decide to have tea (which I like hotter than coffee). And the lid comes with it now which is awesome, saves me some money and adds tons of time to the battery life. The lid also keeps coffee with cream from forming that skin on the surface. Love the upgrades.

I’m constantly in and out of meetings and life activities and became accustomed to half-finished lukewarm coffees sitting on my desk. This mug has genuinely fixed that. I can now enjoy hot coffee at my ideal temperature for hours. I pour it once in the morning and it’s ready whenever I actually have a time to drink it. The design is also a star feature as it’s sturdy and well-built with a nice weight to it. It looks sleek and clean, and it doesn’t look out of place in my office or kitchen. And the best part, it’s dishwasher safe! One less thing to hand wash during a hectic day. If you’re like me and you’re the kind of busy that means your coffee becomes an afterthought, you’ll enjoy this mug upgrade!

I already own the original Ember Mug, so I was very curious to see if the Ember Mug3 was actually worth the upgrade. And honestly, I think they fixed the one thing that drove me crazy about my original Ember: cleaning it. The Ember Mug3 is DISHWASHER SAFE! That alone is a huge upgrade for me because I use my Ember every single day. It still has everything I love about the original Ember, like keeping your coffee or tea at your exact preferred temperature instead of letting it turn cold. You can control the temperature right on the mug now, or use the Ember app. It also has a built in battery, precision temperature, it shows the temperature and battery status, and auto sleep! As someone who already loved my original Ember Mug, I really appreciate that this feels like an actual upgrade rather than just a new version for the sake of having a new version. If you are a coffee drinker who is constantly reheating your coffee because you got distracted, this is such a game changer. Five stars from me! The Ember Mug3 is officially my new favorite coffee mug.
