My husband bought this for me since my coffee always gets cold especially when I am working. I work from home so sometimes I get busy and distracted and I dont get to my coffee quick enough. I wanted the bigger size as that is the type of cup I normally drink. The pros are that is definitely does what it says in keep your coffee warm. You have several different settings within the app to choose from on temp.level. It was extremely easy to hook up to the app and I havent had any issues since. Within the app you can check your battery level. Since I do work from home, I thought it would be best to just keep the cup on the charging pad, but I started noticing that the bottom of the cup started to become discolored. I was a bit worried that it was because I was charging and the heating element were being used too much together, so now I only charge when needed. I dont trust charging it while I am sleeping or gone with that discoloring. I have tried to wash it thinking it could be from something else, but it doesnt not come off. The biggest con is I do not think it keeps a battery life as long as it says. It does seem to lose battery quickly. It is also really hard to make sure it is off just by the press of the button. It seems to light up as soon as you pick it up or move it. The coffee does get an old taste if it has been sitting for a while just like it does in the coffee maker, like over cooked. I was hoping that wouldnt be the case. I use this cup every day during the week that I am working. The rest of the time I use regular cups. I think this would be ideal for someone who doesnt drink their coffee fast or gets distracted easily and comes back to cold coffee often. It is on the heavy side. Definitely bottom heavy as that is where the battery and heating element are. It must be hadn washed and dried quickly. You dont want to leave the bottom wet.

I purchased this mug to cut down on the number of cups I was wasting each day, thrown out because they got cold, so I’d end up just brewing a new cup. While this has indeed kept my coffee warm longer, it comes with the caveat that if you use half & half in your coffee or tea, anything over about 30 minutes will start to separate and curdle, so drink up and don’t expect it to keep for an hour or more. The mug is a rechargeable stainless steel mug with a nice sleek design that fits in well on my desk and makes it easy to wash, and is recharged by placing on the included coaster that plugs into a standard wall outlet (charging cord included). The temperature is then set with the app, if you choose to use it, which connects your phone & the mug via Bluetooth. The out-of-the-box temperature is 135°, so if you opt for no app you’ll still get the benefit of a heated drink. But the app allows you to tweak that higher (max of 145°) or lower (low of 120°). The app will also give you notice when the battery on the mug is getting low & needs to be recharged. The device will detect when the cup is empty and shut off the heating element automatically. You can also do that by manually turning the cup off (button on the bottom of the mug) or in the app. Know that it will continue to heat even with a small residue in the bottom and will turn that into a solid film you’ll have to scrub out later. So when done, make sure you wash & dry the mug with a cloth to let it reset itself to “Empty” and shut off. Battery life is good. You’ll get about an hour out of the battery before you get an alert that it’s low. What I don’t like about their app is there is no quick way to see the battery level. When you launch the app & it finally connects, it will show the temperature right on that screen. To see the battery level, you have to go into “Settings” to view it. Why they don’t include the battery level right there at the home screen I don’t understand. Seeing that you’re more likely to be checking that than tweaking the temperature constantly, that’s just bad UI design. As mentioned above, the constant hold at a temperature will cause a curdling of regular half & half, where it’s separating the fat in the cream (see photos). I haven’t had this issue with fat-free half & half (which I prefer but haven’t been able to find in Texas the last couple of weeks thanks to recent storms). So while this will keep your coffee warm for an hour or more, that doesn’t mean it’s drinkable in that time range. If you’re a non-cream user, your drink should remain perfect longer-term. Overall I love the mug, though again with the cream issue the timeframe for a cup isn’t as long as you might think. Let me start off by saying this a one of the best mugs for coffee lovers. With that said, the only two negatives I have to say will be the price and battery life. For the obvious reason, $150 is a little steep for a any mug/cup. It serves a purpose, so there’s not too much I can say. The battery life I wish was a lot better than what you get. It ranges between 2-3 hours. So if you’re someone who likes multiple cups, relaxing and drinking outside, or keeping at your desk while working you’ll definitely have to consider that. The few hours may seem like a lot of time but trust me when I say you’ll get plenty of notifications that your mug needs to recharge, which is slow to do that as well. It may not be perfect but it’s still a great cup.

This is an amazing little coffee mug. I have been waiting for like twenty years for someone to come out with a dependable self-warming coffee mug that actually worked and kept your coffee HOT. I mean steam comes off the coffee the entire time (I have mine set for 145 degrees (max). I will opt for the optional lid, too....as it makes it great to take on hikes, in the car, etc...not to mention it saves on the battery because it stays hot easier. At $99 sale price, it's still pricey, but honestly, I'd buy one again if need be. Bonus: I love the dark blue color, which was the only one on "Deal of the Day". Win win!!

Love. Love. Love my Ember Mug! This is my second mug as my first one was the copper shiny one and the clear film eventually started wearing away on the inside of the mug. It still worked just fine but I wanted to move to the ceramic coated mug to prevent potential ingestion of said film on my old one. I think my favorite part about the ember mug is that I don’t have to chug my coffee down quickly before it gets too cool and is not as enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoy my cup of coffee piping hot (set to my preference of course in the app when I first set it up and haven’t touched it since). Sometimes I take as long as 30-40minutes savoring a single cup of coffee, so I appreciate the light indicator on the mug itself reassuring me that it is still on and keeping contents hot! Or if it is a crazy morning and I have to get the kids out the door so they don’t miss the bus I can come back to it 10-15 minutes later and it’s still hot! It does not change the flavor of the coffe either by prolonging how long it sits in a hot ember mug. That brings me to another important point… the mug is so well insulated it is perfectly warm in your hands, not too hot to hold. Literally will not drink my coffee from any other mug!

I would give this more like a 3.5 star. It definitely controls the temperature of the liquid you put into it but it does not make it warmer. So just be aware of that. I was expecting the coffee to be just a bit warmer and for longer. So I am not over-the-moon about it. But it is much better than just having your coffee continue to cool. However, I'm not feeling the value for the money. These things are not cheap. And the enamel in the bottom of mine has already started to come off just a bit. Not sure how that happened. I thought it was baked-on coffee, but it's the actual material that's rubbing off the inside of the cup. For $135 for a mug, I would have expected much better quality.

So I was super excited to get this! I just had a baby and my husband would leave my coffee on my nightstand and sometimes when I’d wake up, it was cold. When I came across the Ember I was stoked! Come to find out that the battery lasts like an hour. I did, however find a solution which is to leave the charging station by my nightstand some it’ll remain charging while on it!! So now I can wake up and have my coffee at my favorite temperature!! I love that I can control it through my phone and it alerts me when it’s reached my temperature and when it’s low on battery. You can also choose a light color, kinda like a mood ring!

Benefits of having a sip of hot coffee out weigh the shorter battery life. If you have your cup/mug resting on the charging base, you'll have no worries. I would recommend to anyone.

My sister purchased me one as a gift - it is incredible! If you like user friendly tech, this is your new coffee mug. I like to take my time drinking my coffee and am often interrupted, my coffee stays perfect! Never a burnt flavor or old taste - simply perfect. The plate stand charges the mug, the mug holds a charge, the mug will keep the beverage can be moved about an maintain the temperature. Also, temperture can be customized. Not for the dishwasher and no metal spoons for stirring - will cause etching on coating.

This mug is amazing. Not only is it a beautiful copper color, but it truly keeps my tea at the correct temperature throughout the day. I love that I can get up to do something, and know when I sit back down, it will be perfect.

Great mug! Use it every day. It keeps it warm for about an hour off the charger, long enough to enjoy one cup. WARNING it says it’s a 14oz but it only holds a maximum of 12oz in the cup. If using Keurig settings, you need to use 10oz otherwise 12oz fills it to the brim. Which is fine, brewing more than 10oz on a Keurig I think dilutes the flavor. But keep that in mind that if you are deciding between the 10oz mug and the 14oz. The 10oz holds 10oz to the brim, so brew setting is best at 8oz.

I have been loving my ember mug, it’s so nice to no longer have to microwave my coffee or tea when it gets too cool. I’m a slow sipper and this has been the perfect addition to enjoying my daily drink. Easy to use app and set up as well.

Keeps coffee at correct temperature for about an hour depending on how high. I wish the battery lasted a little longer, but it’s usually okay. The inside of the white mug is already staining after about a month if use.

I use this every morning, it keeps my 4 cups of coffee hot to the last drop daily, then I put it back on the base to recharge. The cup has a very comfortable flat handle and a cushioned bottom, that was a surprise, since the electrical contacts are on the bottom as well. Pricey, but I'm really enjoying it.

Keeps my nespresso hot and fresh all day while working from home or in the office. Bought this on sale for $50 and highly recommend buying at this price. Knocked out one star because if the cup is at highest heat setting, it will drain the battery in less than an hour. Not great for traveling but just fine if the base plate is nearby.

This was my second Ember mug and by far my favorite tech product. It keeps my coffee at my desired temperature so I can drink hot coffee all morning. I’m saddened to have to write this poor review, but I would want to know this before paying an obscene amount of money, for a mug that will breakdown in less than 2 years. The ceramic coating in the bottom of the mug starts to breakdown and chip away. Meaning, I am drinking chips of ceramic if I continue to use the mug. The first Ember mug I had started to chip away after a little less than 2 years. When I contacted support, they dismissed my concerns because it was out of their 1 year warranty. They offered a refurbished mug at a very small discount. This is my second mug - purchased new from Best Buy (I decided not to buy their refurbished) and here I am again in the same situation. I will not be buying another product from Ember. Shame on them for charging so much for a product that only lasts less than 2 years and then offer no real solution when it becomes unusable.

I love this cup so much I bought 4 of them. I got the Rose Gold from Ember directly, the white one from here, Best Buy had the blue one on a great sale today, and the Sage one somewhere. As you can see the cup is a little testy (it shouldn’t be red) but a quick reset on it phone got it to maintain the temperature again! I have 2 jobs so I keep one at both jobs, one at home by my bed and one by my recliner!! I bought these super cute wooden spoons because I read the reviews and don’t want to scratch them up! I also leave on the charger a lot and bought the lids to go with to hold my ideal temperature which is perfect for me!!

I thought this was going to be a silly purchase but found it to be the best thing for keeping my coffee at drinkable temperature for the whole cup. I have a habit of walking away and come back to cold coffee that I have to reheat in microwave couple of times. Not any more. If it wasn’t for the nice lady at the front door who helped me with her liking the product I probably wouldn’t have tried it.

If you are a hot drink drinker, then this cup is your shield, your defense from either walking away from that initial hot cup of joe (or whichever hot drink) or being distracted to come back to an unwanted cooldown of that precious pour you were just enjoying. This cup brings peace, satisfaction, and enjoyment, and makes drinking coffee that much more enjoyable. Thank you, Ember! Oh, and the Blue color make it even more joyful. I love this mug! If you drink any sort of hot beverage this cup is a game changer. I can’t tell you how happy I get inside when I take a sip of tea thirty mins later and it still gives me the feeling that first sip did due to it being warm. You can pick your temperature for your beverage on the app. It even has presets of certain teas that should be kept around certain temps. Worth every penny! You can even change the light at the bottom to different colors incase you have multiple people drinking out of multiple cups!
