I’m very disappointed with the return experience I had with Best Buy and one of their third-party sellers. I purchased a shower chair in advance of an upcoming surgery, not realizing that the hospital would provide one for me. The item was never opened or used—it is still completely sealed in the original box with the original tape. When I attempted to return it to Best Buy, I was told that because it was sold by a third-party seller, I would need to contact the seller directly. I did exactly that, only to be told that they have a 14-day return policy and would not accept the return, even though the item is completely unopened. To make the situation even more frustrating, the third-party seller then directed me back to Best Buy. As a customer, being sent back and forth between Best Buy and a seller on Best Buy’s own marketplace is incredibly frustrating. I purchased the item through Best Buy and expected there to be a reasonable way to resolve an issue like this, especially for a brand-new, unopened product. At the very least, there should be clearer return policies for third-party purchases and better coordination between Best Buy and its marketplace sellers so customers aren’t left stuck in the middle.
