Great lil item and a perfect alternative to a tv. Cons: It runs on Android TV which has some issues (with certain apps) and a few momentary glitches, runs a little hot, difficult to see during the day in a bright room. Frame rate isn't the best for first-person shooters/quick response games, (but works perfectly for Nintendo Switch). The remote DOESN'T have a mute option, and the remote also DOESN'T have backlit buttons which makes it impossible to use in the dark. Pros: Perfect size, fits anywhere, the speakers are impressive, IO was recently updated which introduced more settings (very cool). there is a good selection of ports for speakers/ other HDMI devices. Can be used as a Bluetooth speaker, built-in Chromecast. All in all a good purchase still costs as much as a basic/mid-spec TV but its SUPER portable, comes with good speakers, and you can have as big of a screen as you want. Side notes: There is a filter on the side port, make sure to regularly clean and check that. There is also a screw tripod adapter on the bottom so it can possibly be hung from the ceiling? (It's sorta heavy so idk how that would work).

I recently purchased the Epson EpiqVision Mini EF12 Smart Streaming Laser Projector with HDR and Android TV from Best Buy, and I have to say, it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. While the price point is a bit high for my taste, the quality and features of this projector make it worth every penny. At first, I found adjusting the screen through its keystone feature a bit challenging, but once I figured it out, I realized it's one of the best features of the projector. The image quality is sharp and clear, even with the screen at an angle. (I posted some bad pictures that show how you can adjust the screen digitally, the one with the jellyfish is on 2 walls and ceiling but still looks flat after adjusting!!) Watching One Piece on it has been amazing! so I can say its definitely a must for anime fans. I was thoroughly impressed with the sound quality from the built-in speakers - it's loud, crisp, and provides a high-quality audio experience. The Bluetooth compatibility is also a great as I use it to connect my headphones for a more immersive and private watching experience. The video quality is exceptional, with vivid colors and sharp details, even in larger formats and without a projector screen. (currently I am projecting over an area that is over half of my wall which is approximately 10'x9') CON-- There is one major downside that I think people should be aware of - you cannot cast Netflix directly to the projector. I'm not sure why this feature is missing, but it's definitely something that could be a dealbreaker for some people. Thankfully, I found a workaround for this issue. I use a Google Cast dongle that is powered directly by the projector's USB port to cast the screen. So while the lack of direct casting may be a drawback, it's not a huge problem for me personally. Another thing that I think people should be aware of is that this projector projects the image kind of high and wide. So placement for this projector may be something that you will have to play with. This proved to be a minor issue for me and can be resolved with the keystone features and some trial and error. It also doesn't need to be very far to project a large screen which in my opinion is a good thing. Overall the quality of the image, the Bluetooth compatibility, and the ease of use make it an exceptional product. If you're looking to elevate your home entertainment experience, I highly recommend this projector. p.s. for gamers, I tried my ps4 on it and tbh. this aint it! Im not a big gamer but all I can really say is, graphics looked exquisite but the fps was lagging. If it matters I tried to play red dead redemption 2 and breakpoint.

At 1000 lumens the color and projection pay off is really good! Dim lighting and even lights on, the projector works great! Obviously in low light you get optimal enjoyment. Hdmi capability easily connects my laptop and Xbox AND the speaker automatically adapts to whatever i plug in witch is awesome! I dont like the android tv scenario but thats just preference. The speaker is phenomenal, bass and spacial audio sounds great. It gets pretty loud too. Although i wouldnt use it as a Bluetooth speaker when im not using the projector, its still amazing to have while using the projector so i dont need an external audio source. Angle adjustment is easy as well and auto calibration works very good! 12/10 recommend
This thing is amazing, smaller than I expected but the picture quality is great! The sound is more than good enough, even with ambient noise. Love how I can just plug this in and go. (nothing else needed) Just turn it on and watch movies & sports 120+”. At night I’ve used my brownish color garage door as a screen and with a slight color balance shift (via the menu settings) and it looks great. Measure 134”. My favorite option though is to broadcast it on my 120” screen. The brightness is more than enough even with the garage light on. Picture is great, better than expected for just being HD. Colors are super accurate when using a high quality projector screen. (I’m a professional photographer & videographer). The contrast and blacks look VERY good in my opinion.

The built in android tv is great but it doesnt allow netflix for some reason. Its not in the app store and you cant even cast it to the projector from your device. I believe the only way would be to plug into the hdmi via laptop. The yamaha speakers are loud! Great for indoors and loud enough outdoors. I’ve never had a projector and this checks all my boxes! Got it for $799 and it includes built in apps, great speaker, and nice picture quality . I paired it with a 120 inch screen and I cant imagine putting it on a 150 inch cause its huge. 10/10 would recommend!!

This is my first projector that I have ever bought. I wanted a portable one that can be used without a screen and this is exactly that. The picture is so clear on just a plain wall, (see picture, which is at about the length of a crib). The picture is also very nice even when the room has natural sunlight shining through. The picture outside at night on a screen is crystal clear and perfect. So far this is worth every penny. I also replaced a regular tv in my room with this projector. The sound is also pretty good and IMO you don't need a soundbar. The setup was easy and fast. I also love how it automatically adjusts the picture and you really don't need to straighten or adjust the picture but that option is available if u feel like you need to.

This projector is awesome. I bought for personal and hobby use. I finally figured out how to setup it up with the stand I bought for it. It’s awesome you can adjust the screen once it auto focuses. I have a screen on the wall and the projector is at an angle and I was able to perfect it in the middle. I was glad that was possible. The live tv is nice to have. We are using this projector in place of a Tv for now. Yeah it doesn’t have Netflix but it has everything else. Using the new Xbox looks awesome with the projector. The speaker never disappoints and is perfect. It doesn’t weigh too much and I like that it is a square and not wider. Also like that it has a height adjuster built inside of it on the bottom. Really don’t have any negative things to say.

Very clear and bright picture. Very cool how it uses lasers to auto adjust and auto focus. Smart apps are nice. However, you can’t Bluetooth to an external sound system when using an HDMI input.

I bought it to create an outdoor theater, and it is perfect for it. I’m displaying it on a 135” screen. The picture is bright, detailed and vibrant. Its amzing how powerful and deep the sound is! The con is no Netflix and the auto geometry and focus could be better but its easy enough to tweak it with the remote.

Have the Epson 880 and recently purchased this one. Cons - 1. Lacks the ability to zoom in or out so it may be tricky if you don't have a large space. Epson 880 does give you this capability which is handy. 2. Occasionally - when rewinding a YouTube video, screen goes green and glitchy but its definitely noticeable, have to keep testing if this is only connected to YouTube but during regular play through, none of that occurs. It also corrects almost instantly when pressing play again. Not a con, just a point to make - Technically it is not 4K but honestly, but the picture is definitely still amazing. We are also talking about a $800 projector vs. a 1.4K or above in cost projector. I definitely see it supporting 4K content without an issue to the pixels or color. Pros - 1. Smart - Have all the apps so no need for a fire stick or an additional item. Lessening the need for multiple remotes and wires. (Simplicity) 2. The control - Since turning it on, the remote is really a good size, not bulky, has the main functions you will need and with the added google feature such as talk is amazing. Also controls the speaker I connected via HDMI arc... know sometimes some controls be glitchy with that. 3. Operating system - Smooth, fast, especially with the use of the remote - definitely a nice experience vs the Epson 880 operating experience (adjusting setting, going to different apps and etc..) 4. HDMI ARC - nice feature for people using a soundbar or specifically Sonos. 5. The added feature for bluetooth is definitely great, especially when on the go (JBL for ex.) or for connecting a soundbar via bluetooth. 6. The Built in Speaker is legit, I've been actually lowering it and have no concern if I was to take it on the go. 7. Size - Thing is no bigger than an old school Gamecube 8. Barely hear the thing running, extremely minimum. Now to screen and picture. Epson provides amazing color and contrast. The Epson 880 did amazing and only reason I am upgrading is for the smart features + HDMI arc, other wise, no immediate need. The projector is working great in a bright area against my wall. I will provide photos of projector on with the lights to show. Don't feel the color is too saturated and the darks are really good. Overall - price, features, connection - really good buy. Only removing a star because of the stated cons, which technically, the Zoom is the main reason. The other reason seems to be only connected to the app.

Bought this for primarily my backyard and absolutely love it. I throw it straight up on my fence, and with some quick corrections, the image is straight. I am going to invest in a screen soon since the wood texture isn't ideal. I also can easily take it inside and use it in my bedroom and basement too. The 1080p image is sharp, refresh rate is smooth, all the apps being built in is convenient (minus no netflix app, but you can easily plug in a dongle), and the built in speaker is loud enough for my neighbors to hear!

This mighty little projector has great color and great sound, with a built in speaker and Android TV, plus all the settings you have to adjust the projection it really is an all in one package.

It is bright, even nicely visible in daylight which is awesome. Sound by Yamaha is really great. My family enjoying it.

I like this thing a lot. I initially bought it to watch movies out doors but fell in love with it so much I replaced my tv with it. Doesn’t have to be totally dark to get a good picture. I’ve been using a wall as the screen so I can’t wait to get a screen. It has built in apps so no need to connect to anything else. I can play my Xbox on it with no issues. Laser projection so I’m not worried about the lamp burning out on it any time soon.

I have to completely rethink “budget” projectors. I can say that this Epson is great. I went in with low expectations because traditionally doing projection is difficult on a budget. I wouldn’t recommend it for a room any really an light unless you get a ALR (ambient light rejecting) screen (yes having a screen matters). I would say that the picture quality around the level of a mid low or mid level premium TV like a Samsung Q60A and a half but maybe not Q70A level.

Seriously surprised by this thing. The auto keystone feature is great and the colors pop even in daylight. I have a lot of windows and was worried but this thing really works. Its not 4k but its not really noticable. The sound could be a bit better but it does support earc and bluetooth so I recommend using external audio.

Best purchase I’ve made in a while. Picture was super clear. Got to watch PPV event with friends and family on a 120’ projector screen. Everyone was extremely impressed with the picture and built in speaker! The bonus is that you can connect Bluetooth speakers to the projector for more sound if needed.

Amazing product! My first projector and I love it! The sound coming out of it is amazing. Really great speakers. The only thing that I don’t like is that it can’t play Netflix. Need to use from a different source to use Netflix. Also, the picture is quite good but it’s only 1080p. But keep your expectations in check. Other than that’s it’s truly an amazing projector for first time owners!

Epson has created quite an amazing little projector with the Epson EF-12. It’s about the size of a lunchbox, and very light and portable. Overall Build Quality is very good, but I wish it had a lens cover. Be sure not to get your greasy fingers on it when you are carrying it. It’s easy enough to clean with a lens wipe though so no big deal. I have previously purchased and used Epson projectors in the past and this new laser technology is admittedly very very cool. You probably will never have to replace the bulb in this projector, just maintain the filter by brushing it or vacuuming it with a keyboard vacuum. The image this projector puts out is very beautiful. Colors are vibrant, and bright. Contrast ratio is excellent, blacks are nice and dark and whites are bright. It is certainly bright enough to use in a dim room, but works best in a dark theater setting. Get some black out curtains, you’ll thank yourself for it. I set mine up on a plain white wall and the picture is beautiful enough for me. Can it replace a TV? Definitely. It is great for a bedroom or small living room / theater room. The projector is very easy to set up, you can set it at almost any angle and it will automatically adjust vertical and horizontal keystone. I recommend you try to center it as much as possible though because there will be some white light “overspray” around the adjusted image. As most projectors, it works best when centered properly. But it is a very nice feature to have and certainly acceptable in usage. I played my Nintendo switch and google stadia with this projector and I did not really notice any input lag. It made for a pretty awesome gaming experience and I will definitely be using it for Mario kart and super smash brothers tournaments! :D The built in Yamaha speakers sound excellent and are loud enough for watching movies or gaming with a small group of friends and family. Even at 75-90% volume, the speakers sounded nice and clear with a good amount of bass. I’m very happy with the sound quality of the built in speakers and plan on just using the built in speakers all the time. My only complaints are that it is running and older version of android and there is currently no Netflix support for it. Can’t install the app or push it to the projector with the built in chromecast feature. You’ll have to side load the app or connect a separate smart device through hdmi for Netflix. But Epson can fix this with an update, and I hope they do. The other thing to mention Is that there isn’t any real picture adjustment settings. I think the default presets look good, but I have to mention it for those of you who like to calibrate your own picture profiles. Would I recommend this projector? YES. I love it, I love it, I love it. And the fact that it is so compact and portable, makes me appreciate it even more. Move it from your bedroom , to the living room or take it to your friends house. It is so easy to use and set up, and having built in Android and Chromecast is the best. I honestly look forward to coming home from work and watching shows or gaming with it.
