Q: Does this printer print on transparencies?
A: Yes and No. I tried to print on a sheet of vellum (semi-transparent paper). It wouldn't print from either then paper tray or rear-paper feeder. But, I found a way to do it. You need to adhere a sheet of standard copy paper to it. This will "fool" the printer into thinking it's printing onto a standard sheet of paper. I was able to use the rear paper feeder with this configuration. In the end you will get a print out on the clear paper. Note, you'll have to remove it from the adhered sheet after printing to it, so choose your adhering method wisely. I used a small piece of scotch tape. Also, I would make sure that the transparent paper is compliant with inkjet printers.
Q: About how many prints per cartridge do these eco printers get?
A: To begin with on the tech side - there are no "cartridge's" per se! I purchased the printer because of the many pages I can print out without having to worry about running out of ink. I printed close to the 10,000 copies it claims to provide. I've done a combination black (mostly) and color printing. I would not trade this printer for anything!
Q: Is the Epson et-16500 printer in stock at your stores?
A: The Epson ET-16500 is still in pre-launch but should be shipping soon.
Q: Does this printer print double sided prints?
A: Yes except for PDF documents on a MAC. I think there must be a way but I could't figure out how to do a PDF document. Other documents are no problem to do 2 sided.
A: The paper tray is big enough for 11 x 17 and even somewhat bigger. So same capacity for Ledger size as 11x14 and letter, 11x8.5 There are two trays and each can be loaded with 11 x 17 paper. The paper handling is iffy like most printers. It rarely can complete a job without skipping some sheets and even getting stuck. Best to keep the paper in a very low humidity room, like conventional air conditioning in summer and dry heat in Winter.
A: This machine is much more economical. I print a lot of photos and can't tell the difference between this printer and a high quality photo printer. I recommend it highly.
Q: looking for large format printer for 17" wide copies, what do you carry in the stores?
A: Epson Workforce ET-16500 ECO Tank printer
Q: Does this printer have the option of stapling and collating? Also can it do a two sided scan?
A: It can duplex (2 sided) scan documents up to 11X17 (maybe slightly more than 11 - like 11.5 X 17). However, it does jam fairly regularly if the paper is glossy, thick, or bent/irregular. We scan our job forms and the forms that are folded sometimes jam up the scanner and any pages scanned previously as part of the same PDF file are not saved so you have to start again! However, when scanning nicely kept documents it works wonderfully. If you are looking for fast feed scanning to do high volumes this probably isn't what you are looking for, but as a small office printer/scanner it is nice to have the over-sized scan/print. I don't believe this staples documents as I haven't seen anywhere on our printer that allows input of staples. Plus the output tray is exposed and there would be no way for the machine to staple it at that point.
