In fact, don't make a move, unless it's to turn up Afraid to Dance, the debut album by Eric Colville that balances groove-laden poetry with kick-in-the-door-of-your-soul rock. As Eric Colville asks in this Phoenix rising from the ashes to backstroke in a rough sea of song - what about you? That's what this album is all about. Taking his music and thinking aloud battles and challenges we all experience but rarely talk about, and trumpeting the small victories that maybe we would like to relate to, and perhaps will, if we can stop the B.S. and let it out - critics and naysayers be damned. This is Eric Colville, the unedited stream-of-consciousness... Boy? Man? Jealous Guy? Confident Guy? Shy Everyman? Pissed Poet? That's the trick, isn't it? Being a part of this life means feeling a thousand ways at once, in no particular order, with as much consistency as the sway of the palm trees lining the Florida Keys where Eric was raised. They dance to their own rhythm without a shred of self-consciousness. What if someone's watching? What will they think? What will she say? Who really cares! Eric Colville's Afraid to Dance wades through life's entanglements, and while each song will affect you for your own reasons they will affect you just the same. In the looping groove of the title track,'Afraid to Dance,' he challenges you to go ahead and take a chance instead of fretting about possible outcomes and then not doing a damn thing. Eric Andersen's new album Dance of Love and Death contains 17 new songs. This is the first studio album of new Eric Andersen songs since 2003. The album features special guests (Lenny Kaye, Larry Campbell, Steve Addabbo, Eric Lee, Joyce Andersen, Tony Garnier, Michele Gazich, Inge Andersen, Robin Batteau, Mark Dann, Abby Newton, Mike Visceglia, Jagoda, Cheryl Prashker and Wyatt Offit) accompanying Eric Andersen. Andersen first came to prominence as a performer in Greenwich Village in the early 1960s and immediately became part of the Village folk and songwriter scene and was at the epicenter of the American Greenwich Village singer-songwriter explosion. Aside from his own classics, he's co-written songs with Lou Reed, Townes Van Zandt, Rick Danko, and Bob Weir (Grateful Dead). And his songs have been covered by many artists including Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Linda Ronstadt, Fairport Convention and Peter, Paul & Mary. He is featured in an Andy Warhol film (Space) and in many music documentaries. A full-length documentary about Eric Andersen The Songpoet (released 2019) is available for streaming on PBS. Internationally acclaimed pianist Eric Legnini recorded his first two albums as a leader on Igloo Records. The multifaceted pianist's releases are resolutely jazz he released Essentials in 1990 with Stephane Galalnd and Jean-Louis Rassinfosse, and Rhythm Sphere in 1995 with Philippe Aerts, Joe Lovano, and Felix Simtaine. Now, Essentials is once again available. Three energies, three personalities, three experiences merge to form a trio with the hope of transcending the sound and conception of the conventional piano-bass-drum trio. These musicians in tandem have already received a warm welcome on the Belgian jazz scene and at various festivals.
