After looking at a bunch of different detectors I finally decided on the Escort Solo S3 and mainly because I don’t like wires tangling around and I have several vehicles. I am more than satisfied with the sensitivity and I don’t seem to get many false signals. I am most impressed with the battery life! So far this has been a good purchase!

I've always wanted an Escort radar detector but have not been able to get over the price when compared to other brands available. I always knew I was sacrificing quality, but lived with it. My last detector (a different brand) stopped working and I finally decided to replace it with an Escort. Better late than never. I'm very happy with the decision. The Solo S3 is very sensitive, and rarely false triggers. I love the portability of cordless operation. My first set of batteries lasted about 6 weeks with moderate use, but it only takes 2 AA's so not a big deal. It turns off automatically after some time with no motion. Great product.

I was overall skeptical about this product because of it being a battery operated device, but I figured with it being an Escort detector; it had to hold up to it's reputation. It definitely has saved me numerous times, and it holds up to my buddy's Valentine detector! We were cruising one night and he would flash his lights every time his detector went off, I was amazed that mine went off the same time he flashed his lights. The only thing is, it does eat batteries. I use either basic Duracells or Energizers, and it holds up for at least 2 weeks of daily driving before needing a change, so I may change out to recharables or a better grade of battery. It definitely beats all the cruddy cheapo whistler and cobra wires detectors I've ever had. The range is good and it doesn't have many interferences. I'd say 75% of the alerts are police, the rest are backup cameras on cars, sliding doors at grocery stores, or laser guided gates at apartment complexes. This is definitely a product I've recommended and will continue to recommend. Thanks Escort for saving me thousands in ticket costs!

I recently took a trip out to Denver and a friend of mine used this radar for the trip. It was really easy to use and switch between modes of highway or city. The range on the highway was excellent, as we caught the incoming radar signals well ahead of any patrol units. After the trip, I bought this model for myself and have been using it for a little over a month. I really enjoy it. It is made to be extremely portable and can be switched and placed almost anywhere in the car. It works really well in both highway and city environments. Although you will need to drive around and use if often to see where there are constant signals on the different band networks. I noticed it will always sound off at electronic doors of business's. Stuff like that will set off the alarm and you won't even see a unit anywhere and those types of doors or other interference can be the source of the alarm. So far I have had no complaints about his radar detector. The battery life is pretty good and the quality of the alarms is great. However if you live where it gets really got, the metal body of the radar can get very hot so you'll need to watch out for that.

Installed in an Audi A3, which is not power cord friendly. No complaints on the detector's ability to sense radar. Easy to setup and configure. Getting about 30 - 45 days per set of batteries. Only complaint: No auto on. This detector can sense a lack of movement and turn itself off. It should also detect movement and turn itself on. While I understand this would potentially shorten battery life, it would be an excellent feature.

Love the cordless! The batteries last me about a month. Has detected very well. Not familiar with the KA and K so can not tell you how well the detection has been for each signal, but can say it has saved me a couple of times.

I've been thrilled with the performance of my Escort Solo S3. It alerts me to speed traps in plenty of time and gives me sufficient time to watch my speed. The battery life has been better than I expected. I'm glad I made the purchase and would definitely buy another. You really can't go wrong with Escort products.

No surprises with this detector other than the battery lasting longer than expected. The cordless function with the sun visor mount accessory make the unit seamless and appears to work fine. Although I have had a few alerts with no police in sight, I have not been pulled over yet. I did forget to power up on one trip and the guy in front of me was caught on laser, which provided a kind reminder to power up each trip. Overall a great buy for the price.

This runs on a battery so no cords (although it comes with a cord), hanging around. Very simple to use but I love the fact that it is quiet and it is smaller than the previous model

Escort around for years and well worth the price. I like the Solo for it's simplicity and ease of use. Battery operated, no wires makes it a breeze to move from car to car. I used others but always prefer Escort/Solo.

Great radar detector. Love that is cordless - no wires!

The SOLO S3's main assets are great portability without the need to connect a cord and without sacrificing radar sensitivity and adequate selectivity. Although my primary portable radar detector is a Valentine One, which absolutely excels as a radar detector AND locator, the S3 is compact and ideal for travel use when 12 volt power outlets (cigarette lighter sockets or other) may be otherwise needed. It provides many hours of operation from a single battery and, if a power cord with a telephone cord style plug is available, can be connected to vehicle power sparing the battery.

After years of wondering if a cordless unit would work I decided to give it a try. Bought the unit while out of town and used it immediately on the drive home. Easy to use and set up. The windshield mount is nice and holds unit well with no shake. I have owned the unit for six weeks now. Detection distance could be improved but has worked for me. The battery life is great. It has an auto off feature which I have used since I bought it and it does save the battery life! I'm pleased with the purchase and am glad I don't have wires on the dash. Make transporting unit easily. Comes with a nice nylon hardcase.

It is really easy to use this as you do not need cord. Battery last long.

Great radar detector. So far very accurate. Mounting suction cups are not the best but the device itself makes up for it. Very sensitive and probably saved me already.

I was looking for a cordless radar detector because I have an SUV where the nearest plug is in the center panel, so a corded radar detector would not have worked given the SUV design. This unit works well and has excellent battery life so far.

This radar detector is a must not only if your a frequent speeder or have the tendency to just get unlucky when it comes to cops but it really does work unlike other cheaper models I've tried in the past. Don't let the price be a sticker shock that holds you back from making an actual purchase. If you want something that lasts, actually lets you know when there are cops ahead just in case you may be a bit over the speed limit and don't need another point to raise that insurance then this is the product for you!

Love the detector but wish it was a bit cheaper. Doesn't seem leaps and bounds better than the cobra stuff except the quality of finish seems better.
