Way too top heavy. The swivel was a detriment.
Nice looking unit, but that's where the pluses end. We've been using the Eureka Cordless Quick-up. Great vacuum cleaner for hardwood floors. Doesn't have the swivel feature, but it's so light that the swivel is unnecessary. It's only negative is that it's a 6-volt NiCad battery which, coupled with the "dumb" charger, it overcharges the battery within the first 18 months or so. The Eureka bagless Rapid Clean "seemed" like the best of all worlds. The Nickel Metal Hydride battery has a longer life and the 12 volts suggested more suction. Unfortunately, I didn't use it long enough to appreciate the battery. The detachable unit was mounted higher on the stick such that it was uncomfortably top-heavy. Couple that with the fact that it swivels and you have a recipe for disaster. Because it swivels, the top-heavy nature of the system is such that it doesn't want to go straight. It wants to swivel in one direction or the other. Why is it that the newer engineers of today do not look at what is working (Eureka Cordless Quick-up) and improve upon it instead of starting the design from scratch. It's hard to improve on the Quick-up other than replacing the NiCad battery with an NiMH battery and including a smart charger which shuts off after fully charging the battery rather than continuing to overcharge it. When you have a light vacuum you do not need the swivel feature. Oh yes, and the Quick-Up had a bracket to mount on the wall, for hanging the vacuum cleaner. The Rapid-Clean Cordless had no bracket. What were they thinking?

Disappointing
I bought this for my tile floor and light duty on my two area rugs, with VERY LOW pile. I was disappointed since the suction was much less than I expected. My previous stick vac was a 10.8V unit (vs 12V here) and performed far better on both the tile and rugs. The Eureka also had a small cup and the brush roller seemed to spread the dirt on the tile floor more than I was accustomed to. Also, the base of the vac kept getting stuck on the pile of the rugs, and I could only freely move the vac backwards. I returned after less than 10 minutes of use. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this to others who may have similar needs to me, although I can definitely see my daughter using this at college in her dorm room (laminate).

Works pretty well on hardwood floor
It works pretty well on a hardwood floor rather than sweeping. I wanted something for quick cleanups. It does a pretty good job, but will start to lose power about 10 minutes after starting. Keep it plugged in. Ideally I would like something with a little more suction, but for dog hair and crumbs it works pretty well.
